The productions here are great. My only complaint is the sound needing to be better. We could only hear half of what was said by the actors and the band was louder than them to begin with.

Went to see the love performance of Dream Girls. It was beautiful, the venue was big and well managed. The performance itself was breath taking and Ill be the first to admit that I ugly cried when the song Youre Gonna Love Me was performed.

The African American Performing Arts Center that is located on the State Fairgrounds is a wonderful venue! Not only does it have a very nice theater but it also has an art gallery with an ever-changing display of pieces from outstanding artist.

Amazing and full of variety. Want to watch a play? Or walk through a gallery? Even burlesque if thats what youre into. You can find a plethora of things here. You can educate yourself culturally or even sign your kids up for a summer program. Just about everything under the sun.

Everyone should check out the Haitian art exhibit there...theres an incredible collection on display!

A little small and the sound system needs to be upgraded, But much nicer than the Albuquerque Civic Center.

I was there for my daughters ballet performance. I have been there for several. Nice building, very friendly helpful staff. Pleasant auditorium, simple nice stage.

Amazing space for a performance. Clean and well kept venue with friendly atmosphere. My husband and I went on the 13th for his birthday and saw a wonderfully blessed reggae artist/Proteje. would love to attend many more performances at this venue... and would absolutely recommend!!!!

What a great talk by Sherri Burr and her new book Complicated Lives. There is an amazing exhibit here until October you should come see.

This is a beautiful performing arts theater. Small in size, so all seats are fairly close to the stage. Lots of good parking, you do enter through the south Expo NM gate, but for our event the parking ticket booths were closed (free parking for AAPAC)

A very nice theatre, its not too big so you can get a good seat almost anywhere. The performances here are good, we watched Honk and enjoyed it! There is an exhibit area with interesting art work highlight in African culture and the impact of important African American people. I recommend visiting this place! Its modern and well kept, clean.

I love the spacious seating and the acqustics were nice and clear.

Very clean, and professional! Beautiful building! Seen my son perform here personally twice, and the each time the sound, and lighting were perfect. The seats are comfortable, and the environment is is much rather enjoyable like your in your very own living area with friends. Vibes are amazing!

Ok so we saw Mama Mia play here. Seriously impressive for a local production. We will be seeing more of these for sure. The facility was great. I was not aware this was even here. Going to another show next weekend

An eye opening learning experience.

Was here for a mothers against drunk driving panel, it was aiiight. They were mad about drunk drivers but super cool about drunks who stay in their living room. I was out right on time! 5 stars, if not for the fact some native drunk chick sat next to me and made the air unbreathable, i thought you kicked these people out? 3 stars.

The musical elf was one of the greatest musicals I have ever seen

What a beautiful venue we have in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I attended a dance performance there and it was just wonderful there!!!

They host some of the best events! Super nice people and always welcoming families and children! Love it!

Great place to watch plays

The African American venue is very inviting for groups that need a special place to have their plays and dances on a stage that is well lighted and the audience has no troubles hearing the actors voices.

We attended Heart of a Dragon, an original play by Coral Community Charter School. Wonderfully done.In the past we have seen MTS, The Little Mermaid and Shrek here as well. We love the center, rows provide amply space for my tall family, bathrooms are easily accessible and the venue is accessible via public transportation so you can avoid the $5 parking fee if youd like!

This is a great venue to host events at. The staff are so helpful and friendly. I attended the TEDxWomen event here and had a wonderful time!

Horrific experience. We normally have a positive time here, but this time it was horrific. It was supposed to be a music program. The third song was a boy reading a THREE page rant about HIS political views. This was NOT the place for that. People were drunk and my wife and I, both Disabled Veterans, were trampled repeatedly by people getting up to dance...sitting back down and then getting up to dance again. We left the event after a short time. I doubt we will ever go there again it was such a terrible time.

NM State Parks truly appreciates the professionalism displayed by the staff of the AAPAC. It was a pleasure working with them recently during our annual awards ceremony! Very impressed with the venue and the staff!
