The year is 2019, so isnt it about time for you to have all of your skinny, no-leg-room seats replaced? Even the Guild Cinema years ago replaced their seats and now have comfortable seats with plenty of leg room. If you want to pay upwards of $65 to sit for over an hour with no place to put your feet or knees if you are over four feet tall, then go to this venue.

Very nice theater. Ive seen shows here on several occasions with seat all over the auditorium and every seat has been enjoyable. There are yummy snacks for sale at intermission. A lot of great shows come through Pope Joy and it is definitely worth your time. Great date idea.

I really appreciate the variety of shows they host. I wish they offered some more inexpensive tickets and not just for students. Would be appreciated to include everyone in the beauty of the arts, not just those that can afford $50 a ticket.

Broadway quality theater in New Mexico. Shows usually arent first year runs but as professional as NYC without the high cost. Parking right near is safe & well lit. Needs new bathrooms.

Popejoy Hall is a wonderful treasure for Albuquerque. It has so many varied performances thst there is always something of interest to see. One problem they could easily solve--stop seating people who arrive late once the show has begun. It is rude to the performers and disrupts the viewing of many patrons. If they arrive late, then they stand at the back until intermission.

It’s a fun place to come see concerts and performances. But I wish there were more spacing between seating rows. And that they can use some kind of sanitizing agent instead of just wiping the instruments off with a small peace of of tissue after kids put their lips on them. But other then those 2 things It’s a fun place to check out!

5/8/18...My first time there. I was there to see Les Miserables. The foyer is lovely as is the lounge area. The concession was overstocked with sweets. The volunteer ushers were warm and friendly. However, the seating was tight and cramped in the auditorium. I was surprised this was considered a good venue for anything musical. The acoustics are horrible. It diminished the quality of the musical. They evidently didnt follow through with their no photo policy as I saw people taking video and/or photos. Having the intermittent light from phones was disruptive. I was very disappointed. Im glad that they are able to bring various types of performing arts to Albuquerque. However, considering what they charge for price per ticket, you would expect a better experience.

Shows are great but theater is not. Rows are narrow, knees almost touch another seat if you are tall. Incline is very small so you cant see well because of peoples heads. So the viewing experience is disappointing.

Really nice theater, sat in dd208 and was able to see the stage very well. Good sound. Seems to me like there arent many bad seats and if there were any Id say most likely orchestra, because the seats are all level and youd likely have a head in the way, not a problem on the mezzanine

Clean, attractive, comfortable theater. The facilities are attractive and make for a satisfying experience. The venue isnt large, parking ($7) is convenient, and the staff is friendly and considerate. A minor drawback is the distance, or lack of it between the rows. Youre going to have to sit up because there isnt space to extend your legs and access to interior seats is like running an obstacle course. There are unobstructed views from every seat and the sound system allows for good hearing.Recommended.

This is a great venue - not a bad seat in the house. The university provides convenient and free parking from Lot G (University, just before Lomas). The only gripe I have is that the seats are a bit narrow. Im not a big guy, but I find myself rubbing shoulders a bit more than I would like.

Pretty disappointed with this place. I was unable to enjoy the show do to overcrowding of the rows. You have more room on a Southwest Airline flight than you do at Popejoy. The person in front of you is literally in your lap, you can smell their perfume or cologne. Especially if youre pregnant or claustrophobic, its extremely uncomfortable. I dont think Ill be back for another show here just due to the lack of room.

My Wife and I hold session and tickets, we enjoyed the performance at the venue very much, Im over 50 and the only thing I dont like is that you cant drink anything, I suffer from chronic dry mouth because of medication, so because of this I have to be sneaky, I feel that they need to change some of the rules because Im quite sure Im not the only person who who suffers from this type of thing, 95% of the people I see in there are people in my age group and we are on medication and are not going to be m making a mess in the auditorium..this is my opinion of course I guess I might be wrong

Amazing concert by Bernadette Peters. $20.00 for upper balcony seat for this Broadway icon. A great lifetime experience! Acoustically, line-of-view, and decoratively great, spotlessly clean concert hall. Easy access from free handicapped parking structure. Elevator to lower bathroom floor and to lower balcony, but quite a few stairs to upper balcony seats. Never disappoints!

Review №47

This facility leaves much to be desired. They have no conception of how to get the traffic in and out of the facility. You will take your life in your hands trying to drive to, park and then leave to go home. It took up over 1 hour to get into the parking structure from Central in front of the facility! The venue itself is not that good. Seats are not comfortable with little leg room and the sound quality of the performances poor because little thought went into sound control. It reminds me of a high school auditorium. I have seen many performances in plenty of places, this was without a doubt the worse. Add insult to injury with the issues trying to get into the facility and it makes for a lousy evening. I would never go back again, even if the performance was free! If nothing else and if anyone from the venue reads this hire the Albuquerque Police Department for traffic control because you guys dont have a clue!

Cy
Review №78

Very uncomfortable seating. Not conducive to an event lasting more than 45minutes. Would never go back to this venue. This is similar to economy seating on a plane. If someone wants to pass you have to actually stand up, push your seat up and step in to let the person pass.No leg room at all, and most uncomfortable hard seats. We watched Shen Yun which lasted almost 3 hours. It was a very bad experience. Especially considering the high ticket price. If you charge the public premium cost for premium seating tickets, at least invest in some better cushioning for your seats and remove every other row to provide more legroom.Additionally, the seating layout is terrible. If you have someone slightly taller than you in front of you, forget about being able to see anything. In fact, two rows in front of you are obstacles.Again, they have packed seats into every inch to maximize occupancy with no regard for providing a reasonable comfort level to the paying customer. As soon as you walk into the front door, you are welcomed with WARNINGS!!!! Over and over again to power your mobile devices off. I guess they dont want the public to take pictures of the seating layout to show how uncomfortable they really are.Like we would never fly a long trip on economy, we would never visit the Popejoy venue unless hey properly refurbish the place and do something about asking for over $150 per ticket and having you virtually sit on a block of wood with a cold hard concrete floor. Not even an investment for carpeting? Sad!
