Terrific experience. Everything you could want to know about turquoise and then some. Very knowledgeable guide, and the setting in a wonderful old mansion was spectacular. Great place for tourists to go, but also a nice way to spend an afternoon for someone who lives here.

Wow! This is an incredible place to spend your time when visiting New Mexico; this place alone gives meaning to the term “enchantment”. The entire staff was friendly and knowledgeable; questions and conversation are welcomed. The castle makes it a unique experience; as you are gazing at the beauty of the building, you can’t miss the equally stunning turquoise! The world section is a favorite, as it explains the pieces and history of it. Tasteful and many photo opportunities are here. Sandy was the curator I spent the most time talking to; it was like visiting a friend! Kind, knowledgeable and I shared a wonderful long conversation about many topics! I highly recommend this place to anyone

This Museum is amazing. It will teach you everything you need to know about turquoise. The castle is world class beautiful. The staircase and chandeliers are breathtaking. The displays of each and every turquoise imaginable will open your eyes to how beautiful a gem turquoise truly is. Staff are so pleasant and helpful. Gift shop sells nothing but the best REAL turquoise with certification. Went to the cafe for a romance cookie bar. Simply the best!! A great experience worthy of a couple of visits to take it all in. Cafe has a great menu and special brand of their own coffee. I would totally recommend taking out of town guest here to show them what Albuquerque has to offer. Awesome place!!

The founders son was on hand to explain every detail of the fabulous collection of turquoise from around the world. The gems there are thoughtfully set out in various settings and we spent two and a half hours fascinated by the location (originally home to a wealthy woman) and the vast variety of masks, jewelry and polished stones.Truly one of a kind and a must see.

It really was an informative and fun museum to visit. I recommend allowing two to three hours to visit the museum. There are over 100 beautiful chandeliers and thousands of magnificent jewelry pieces. Also, you can learn how to spot fake turquoise and the different kinds/mines.

Friendly and welcoming, informative staff, fully covering turquoise all over the world, and all details of mining and stones. Classes popping up, out of which we were advised to believe natural but not terms like genuine or real. And the house is exciting, too. And the fabulous turquoise rainfall chandelier.

For lovers of turquoise, this place is heaven. I guarantee you have never seen such a collection of turquoise in every conceivable state of of refinement as you will find here. There is a horse necklace, encrusted conch shells from Nepal, startling Mexican mosaic masks, and did I mention they have a TURQUOISE NECKLACE designed for and worn by a HORSE? I am not really that into turquoise and I found this to be the definitive turquoise experience. Also, the home that houses the museum is unlike anything youve ever seen before. It could double as a chandelier museum. There are SO MANY chandeliers. One word of caution: this is not a place for young children. There is little to interest them and you will want to spend a lot of time reading the placards. Also, it is pretty expensive and technical , so if you dont have much time in Albuquerque, youd be better off visiting the Albuquerque Museuem for much less money. But for fans of turquoise, this place is an absolute must-see and you wont be disappointed.

We thought it was very informative. Family owned and the son gave us a great tour with a lot of character. We had no idea there was so much to know about turquoise. Definitely a place to visit BEFORE you buy something in the historical old town plaza. This place is hard to find and it is located in a shopping center by a Walgreens. Its also not in a cave like the AAA guide book states. Still a great place to visit.

I really enjoyed my tour; I think its a very good value. The host is extremely knowledgeable and not overbearing. I liked being shown around first and then being allowed to wander and read through the info on my own. I dont have that strong of an interest in turquoise, yet I still felt that the info as presented was edifying, enlightening, and worthwhile, as well as germane. I was visiting ABQ from out of state and feel that I learned pertinent info in a unique way. Thank you!

Our tour guide (the son in this family run business) was knowledgable, friendly, and fun to joke with.My whole family had a great time. Even my teenager was engauged.Special side note, if you are sensitive to touching storys, listen to the guide and skip reading the eulogy, and please dont smack the guide, he really is a nice guy :)
