Good sized playground. Ideal for 5+ yr olds. Theres also a smaller toddler area for the younger tikes. It does get crowded often and parking is never enough and hard to find nearby. The grassy area is slightly sloped, so hard to play competitively. Purely for light activities or simple catch/fetch. Still one of the better parks in the area. Recommend!

Great park to make friends, have fun and get some fresh air. There’s always activity and the park is well loved. I came here as a kid frequently, going on 35+ years of park visits. Tennis courts, basketball, pool, play structure, baseball field, dog park, grassy field, what more could you ask for?

This is a nice little neighborhood park but the hours are set to convenience the people who run it not the people who use it The dog park has extremely limited hours and frankly people who have dogs want to walk them before or after work not in the middle of the freaking day interesting to see though that the tennis courts are lit but the dog park is not so tennis anyone but no dogs thank you

Been coming here since I was a kid in the 70s/80s. I miss the big metal slide, but now that my son is going here, I certainly wouldnt want him to have the experience of going down a hot-from-the-sun METAL slide (with shorts on, as I recall), burning his legs. Thats a rite of passage that I wouldnt want him to experience! Overall, the park has improved over the years, and has had plenty of advancements that make life that now, as a parent, I appreciate. 1 star off goes to APD for not stopping by enough with vagrants sometimes spending time under the trees in between play structures.

This is a pretty great park with a lot to offer. There is a play structure, swings, tennis courts, baseball field, batting cage, a basketball court, grass, a great public pool and a building for events. I go to this park a lot and theres always something to do there. The park is kept up well enough, they recently put in a nice new water fountain to replace the wet sand whole of the old one. The bathrooms are also kinda gross, but other than that its a pretty great park. But Im mostly here to review the tennis courts. There are four pretty well kept up tennis courts (fences separating them into two sections of two tennis courts). Theres nothing special about them, just pretty good courts. If you play in the far back court, theres a shorter fence meaning theres a good chance balls will go onto the baseball field ,which is often locked, or into the construction at the high school. There is usually an open court, so the only time they are full is at the busiest hours. This is a much better place to come than King in my opinion to play tennis and a better experience than a lot of other tennis courts in the area.

Its a pretty good park with an open space for sports, games, or kites. Theres also two separate sized playgrounds as one is for toddlers and the other is for older kids. There is also a nice sized pergola to sit under to shade the sun. It a nice little park to chill or take the family.

I have been visiting this park since I was a small child. I miss the big curly slide, and the merry-go-round and I wish there were more swings and more picnic/BBQ setups on the West side of the park, but I love this park and the ample space to roam and run. The park itself is well-maintained, except for the bathrooms which are always filthy and broken. (Seriously Albany, whats up with that?).

A great space for lots of activities. There are two play areas, including a fenced off space and structure for the littlest of kids, enough open space for multiple games of Frisbee, catch, or kite flying. Theres an active community garden and a Christmas day school garden to explore. Basketball nets, baseball diamond and a swim center. The city of Albany frequently hosts events at this park, such as a Music in the Park series.

Its what a park should be, and a great example of good design that incorporates a high school, community centers, a Vets Hall and a park in one space. The park includes a playground which has several challenging climbing structures and a big slide. Toddler playground. Sandbox. Picnic tables. Fields for casual play. Soccer fields and baseball field for organized leagues. Basketball courts. Swimming pool. Event space.

If the Albany government (if there is any) more carefully maintained the grass area and kept it free of huge potholes, Id like this park. As it is, its a broken ankle/foot waiting to happen.

Be
Review №70

I am a disabled senior. There is no place to sit. There is no water for the dogs. There are no bags to pick up waste. There are no trees and very little shade. The gate opens outward and often blows open so that dogs can run out in the street. Whenever people with dogs try to make the place more workable they are threatened that the city or the school district will close the park down. Albany should be ashamed of themselves and I thought that the American with Disabilities Act made it illegal not to have a place for the disabled who cannot stand for any length of time to sit down.

I visited this park with a friend today and my little dog. The dog park should be named Unconscious People Park as clearly the dog owners are completely irresponsible here. When we arrived we were bombarded at the gate by dogs and people. The people were all saying what a cute dog I had but none of them were controlling their pets. I felt mauled by the dogs and people. It was difficult to get my little girl through the gate and she was definitely not liking it with her tail down. There was dog poop everywhere. When I first arrived I started to pick up poop I saw but there was no way, it was everywhere. Meanwhile a black lab was running dragging a smaller dog on a lease around the park. A large puddle looking dog was snipping at the small dogs back legs, so the dog was being dragged and snipped and no one was doing anything. The owner of the smaller dog was an older lady who didnt seem concerned at all but was one of the people goggling over my dog. We decided to go to the other end of the park to play and shortly after getting there I stepped in a massive pile of dog poop. That was it for me. It was a very unpleasant experience and I will not go back. My doggie didnt like it either and she does generally like playing with other dogs. This is the kind of thing that gives dogs a bad name and its not the dogs fault, its the people who are not being responsible pet owners whatsoever.
