A friend and I flew my plane up to Yankton South Dakota from Omaha.you got a car and drove over to Lewis and Clark Lakethe park ranger was very helpful gave us instructions on where the hiking trails were and some other information.parks and re well-maintained and very clean and it wasnt very crowded on the day we were there. I would definitely like to go back there again sometime and maybe do some overnight camping or.boating.

This park is so much fun. The lake is beautiful and the park staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. My wife and I try to come here allot in the spring and fall. Highly recommend.

We flew to Yankton South Dakota from Omaha just to spend the day hiking at the lake. We were very impressed with the friendly Park rangers who provided us information. The park was very clean and we enjoyed the hiking trails. Were considering coming back and doing some overnight camping next time.

Beautiful lake!! Cost like 8 bucks to get in but its worth it. Very clean spot to take the family or kiddos.

The lake is beautiful. We tent camped but had shore-power. Very helpful. Glad we were able to use our solar generator less. We didnt need our dog-bone, just a heavy-duty extension cord.

Well-maintained, spacious. Campsites decent size and most shaded. Restrooms clean. Beaches were pristine and awesome water view.

Great family camping experience. We try to make it down a couple times a year and always have a great time. The staff are always nice and they maintain the facilities fairly often.

Its a well maintained area that we have been bringing our family to for years and years. Everybody is friendly and the facilities are always clean and well kept. The spaces between sites are spaced apart perfectly so you dont feel crowded. They are still close enough together that if youre camping with family over a few spots, its easy to run back and forth between campers. We love this area and will continue to come here. Its also fun to hit up downtown Yankton while there. My wife loves shopping Statement Boutique and I enjoy having drinks at Bens Copper Room.

Fun place. The kids loved it. Enjoyed our stay, but our cabin site was dirty, cans everywhere, used Band-Aids on the ground, and the gill and fireplace were not cleaned out.

This park is lovely. We stayed in the Gavins campground. Theres ample shade and so many playgrounds throughout the park. It made for many options during our stay. The restrooms are well kept, showers too.

The campground and beaches are clean and well kept. There are miles of nice bike trails. There are nice handicap bathrooms.

It was peaceful. I just visited the resort just for a few minutes so my daughter can show me where she is getting married next year.

Really nice, spacious sites, well distanced from your neighbors. Black topped and level. Tons of green space. Lots of mature trees. Great trail all thru the park - about 8 miles worth! A lot of sites on the water and many others have a view. Only drawback is unless you are near Y-4 bath house in the Yankton section, which is brand new and very nice, the bath houses are standard cement, dank, dark snd suspectible cleanliness.

Huge lake with a bunch of recreation areas. Its a nice kept up place.

The camp site was clean as well as the restrooms.the staff at the park office was friendly and helpful.

It is a huge park with lots of campsites. For the most park it is very well maintained but the grass was pretty beat up on our site there were no level spots to set up a tent. They charge $5 for 10 pieces of wood which is a good amount. However, the wood is just loosely piled in a building and when we were here it was all wet and partially rotten wood. I was very disappointed with the quality of the wood. There are several nice beaches and several miles of paved biking/running trails.

This is a wonderful place to bring the family. Has nice beaches for the kids and some of the best bike trails which are all paved.

As with all South Dakota State Parks, clean, outstanding facilities and meticulous grounds. Im the Camphost from April thru June.

Very well kept. Clean cabin. Quiet. Boats, RVs, jet skis all nearby across the road; along with C-store that has worms to fish with. They were lacking in variety of poles, but so is Walmart. (Everywhere) Only problem I seen was the trash at the beaches were over-flowing.

What can you say that would truly explain the beauty of the lake. Coming in as the sun starts to set is nearly a religious experience. Because we use the lake Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday we dont see the crowds or what they bring.

Enjoyable. Had to use boat beach to have your dog on the beach. A boat beach is the non sanctioned beaches hidden in the camping shoreline

Super well run park. Beautiful lake. Very busy with campers.

We were there post season and the place was quite. Never more than 4 other campers in a unit that can place 40. Grounds are well cared for. Electrics worked flawlessly (30 amp hook up). Roads and camper platforms freshly paved and sealed. Showers had hot water and bathrooms were clean and well lit. Garbage disposal within easy short walk. Well groomed walking, running, bike trails. Ice, firewood and merchandise are available at check in station. Mature trees provide ample shade on sunny days. We found it to be a good experience.

Really GREAT recreation area. 13 mi. long lake loaded with fish. Plus great shopping in Yankton. Lots of super boat ramps. About 5 mi. of campgrounds all along the lake, and cabins. Some of the area is listed as in Nebraska. Be sure to reserve. Very active place on weekends. Especially holidays.

Park is a bit confusing maneuvering through but still beautiful! Its ok to get lost just enjoy the scenery. Cabins are beautiful!

This park is absolutely amazing, so pieceful, love that the security guards drive around and are so friendly and how they keep an eye on things, absolutely love how amazing and friendly the staff is, you couldnt ask for a more secure place to be, and just relax and enjoy everything around you!

Favorite place to camp! Its always a blast and everyone is so friendly!

They need signs posted....we had never been there before and had no idea where we were going trued coming in the wrong entrance and their gate person advised us we could turn around anywhere. We ended up at an unposted dead end, trying to turn around 2 vehicles with campers. It was horrible we got turned around ok, but our friends with a big truck and longer trailor had a real problem. Not saying it completely ruined our stay, but the undue stress that it cause made for a not so fun trip.

Great campground for everyone, lots of activities! Well kept and bathrooms cleaned on a regular basis.I’ve been fortunate to visit many campgrounds in the Midwest and Lewis & Clark is top three, maybe the top campsite we visit! Many people flock to the pads overlooking the river and their nice but if you want less wind and large trees I recommend staying at a site back a little. Enjoy!

Excellent park! Obviously requires a state park license but totally worth it! Fishing, disc golfing, and camping are just a few of the excellent attractions.

We came here for an event and the staff was very helpful in directing us to the right location. This state park and camp ground is very roomy and well cared for. We went camping last month and both my wife and kids said I have to get us a spot at this camp ground next time. They have plenty of activities and a number of playgrounds. I like the beach area and my boys cant wait to fish here. There were also plenty of trees for hammocks (a big bonus).

It has a lovely disk golf course. The first nine holes are very scenic and the last nine quite challenging. Its overall a well rounded course and a lot of fun for just $6 dollars of parking.

Very pleasant place, considering the area. It definitely adds some beauty to Yankton. Its a lovely place to relax by the River. There are good hiking parts. The Campgrounds are lovely. Ive had some wonderful fun with groups of people relaxing and having fun. Ive also swam in the river, good fun. Some of the scenery in the area is pretty pleasant.

Plenty of campsites, fishing spots, and recreational activities to keep anyone entertained. Always seems very clean with friendly park staff

Beautiful campgrounds and lake. For boaters the dock area is perfect. On Nebraska side can launch four boats at a time.

A very popular State Park. Lewis & Clark is a very popular camping, fishing, boating, hiking, horses, and historical area. Lewis and Clark camped here and met with local tribes on a butter just about the now constructed dam. If you want something outdoors, this is it. Just west of Yankton, you can pick up anything you forgot in town. Corp of engineers have museum on Neb. Butte. Sdgfp has an aquarium below dam. Kids love to visit that. Cook on fire, or go into town for pizza to fine dining.

Very expensive park with sidewalk that I think is total of eight or nine miles and side Trails for biking sailboating jet skis allowed campers car theres more than one beach I believe theres two or three theres picnic tables cabins you can rent one-day pass is $6 proud of town resident and their seasonal and daily passes that you can get for in-state. Theres water fountains with bathrooms every 500 M or so as well as shaded sidewalks and shaded parking theres also showers to shower with after you get out of swim in the river fishing is allowed or so I observed. The park is big enough that you may want to pick up a map in the office to the right as you pull in enjoy!

It was a very hot day and the water felt good, unfortunately from all the recent rains it was very dirty, but with the heat we really didnt care.

Very relaxing enjoyable weekend! Always enjoy the beautiful Park! Shower houses are always well kept!

The park is the best! Campground is well maintained, the sites are huge, the showers and restrooms are so nice! The views ofthe lake cant be beat. The beach is awesome as are the trails. Loved every minute we were here ️

Gavins point disc golf course was very nice. Mountain bike trails need switchbacks to make the trails not so steep and to lessen erosion. Also the horses really tear up the trails in places. Other than that the mountain bike trail was fun.
