The mountain is good considering proximity to NYC - decent runs at all levels. Gets way too crowded on weekends. The new trails they cut a couple of years back (blue/black) always gets icy.
I have skied and golfed at the resort for over 30 years. Golf only the past few. My father loved coming with the family. My whole family is in firefighting and law enforcement. I as my family werealways proud of the flags with the blue and red stripes honoring the fire and police agencies across our great state. Recently those flags were removed because of pressure from activists. Shame on what my family once cherished as a great family location. My six to eight thousand will be better spent somewhere else.
We went a while back and had a great experience. We took a NYC Snow Bus and it couldnt have been more simple for us. Trails were very wide for a mountain in New York and had a lot of cool glade areas that looked fun with some more snow. Food was also AMAZING (try a breakfast sandwich with a hard roll)
Great time at Windham. The snow was a little light, lots of bald spots and grass. It was good trip for breaking the legs in before a bigger trip out west. The resort is nice. I used valet parking to save some time. They rent skis at the resort. They have OK food there as well. The resort is well staffed. I had a great time!!I think they need to put some kind of big bubble over the place and make more snow. I would come here after a big snowstorm for sure.
Nice and quiet, good place to relax for a couple days. Windham Country Club Golf Course was a nice course in good shape, fun to play.
Course is in fairly good shape considering they were recovering from a fungus on the greens. They have an online reservation system that is so so. They modified my online tee time to meet their needs. It negatively impacted my day and I will call from now on.
I went skiing for the first time at Windham Mountain and had a great time! There was a good amount of snow and it was a stress free experience of getting the lift passes. Some members of my party also got the group skiing lessons and said they highly recommended it.
Be careful when ordering passes on line. Ordered 4 was charged for 8 almost a month ago. Still waiting for a refund. VERY poor customer service. No communication.
We always love going to Windham. My husbands family has been going there for over 25 years, and in many ways its been home for them. I really wish we could go there more! We havent stayed at the resort so I cant say anything about the accomodations, but the staff weve encountered has been friendly and helpful. Our kids enjoyed the kids camp, too. We always get our rentals from Windham Mountain Outfitters, and highly recommend them. If youre looking for a place that has diverse trails suitable for all skill levels, a cozy atmosphere, lots of places to go to dinner, and a long track record of good family memories made, Windham is for you!
Take a power walk up the streets surrounding the resort! Very scenic and beautiful and you get in a great work out!
1st timer, would visit again. Beautiful view from chair lift.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff. It was our first time skiing we took their lessons and everyone was awesome. Even the people there were super helpful. I hope to visit again. Had a lot of fun. Totally worth the price
Snow was good, best conditions I have seen in a long time. Weather was perfect, lift lines were short, terrain was epic. When the snow is good, go to Windham Mountain
I dont ski but i came here to hike and to checkout the foliage from the peaks. it was well worth it if you like to hike.
A great resort. Excellent facilities and friendly staff. The slopes are well prepared and groomed and loads if snow blowing going on, so plenty of fresh powder all day. Queues for lifts were average given the peak season.
We had a great time at the Keg, Rattle and Roll Festival. The food, music, beer ,wine and merchants were great. Come out next year for this Festival.
I can only compare to Hunter, but I liked Windham way more. More runs, better runs and a better range in terms of difficulty. The equipment rental process was terrific and easy. My favorite run was Windfall, a blue run. It was kind of far from the lift, but super fun! I highly recommend Windham.
Nice course, beautiful vistas, course kept in good condition, and pleasant staff
Very nice resort. Clean and organized. Easily accessible rentals. Good conditions when there is snow, but also making snow all the time possible to keep more trails open. Trails for all levels. Just pay attention to the signs when some trails are closed to not get yourself in a situation of only black diamond down or nothing. All information on the open/closed trails is available on their website, just check before you go. Kids love it there. Lessons are available. Staff is friendly. Lots of choices if you want to stay overnight. Lots of parking and shuttles are available. Have fun!
If you are looking for better food you should check the restaurant above the cafeteria in the lodge. Way better food than what you will find in the cafeteria. Prices are a few dollars more than downstairs but the service and atmosphere are much better. Plus, there is a bar that overlooks the slopes, and fireplaces to warm you up. Definitely the place to go if you are looking for a calmer and less chaotic atmosphere for lunch. They are also open after the slopes close so you could grab a drink or dinner too.
Awesome place to improve your skills and start learning down hill
This place rocks! I went snowboarding here and everything went amazing. Why did I give it a 4 star though well it is because the grooming could get kinda lazy. But beside that it is great the hotels and food are amazing the workers are nice and many more things.
Great low key Skiing and Family friendly environment on the Weekend and Weekdays.
Windham has made a strong effort to upgrade amenities, which are on par with an Out-West ski mtn. But, there isnt enough challenging terrain to keep me interested all day
Awesome location and great staff! Easily the best mountain close to the cities. The instructor for my SO was professional and a great teacher. It is a little pricey but we thought it was worth it as its the nicest mountain in the area. Mountain conditions can get Icy by the end of a day on the blacks but the blues stay nice conditions all day.
Nice but one thing is the resort name is mountain.
Our first visit here with our teen skiers over two days. Arrived midday both times. Parking was packed but we got lucky both days finding spots in the lot closest to the main lodge. Drop off lanes, ticket lines, and lift lines were very efficient. Lots of seating outside. Food pricing not too bad....$9 for a decent sushi roll...$20 for 2 large hotdogs, a coke, and a large beer.We enjoyed our visits and the boys loved the trails so well be back.
It was a wonderful sunny day .Slopes were very well done.Because of Monday and windy day there were not many people that is always good. No line in the restaurant at the time of lunch.Skiing was amazing !
Hit the bike park, everyone was super helpful and friendly.
Beautiful place. Any season.
This resort is what customer service is about. I won’t go into full details but they went above and beyond to help out my friend I was with. Other than that, the mountain is nice, it’s small enough that it’s got that “home-town” kind I’d feel, but big enough that it’s got enough trails to keep you busy all day long. The conditions weren’t fantastic this year, but they did their best snowmaking all winter long, they obviously can’t control the weather. All -in-all I’d say it’s one of the best mountains a few hours away from the city. P.S. get a Bloody Mary at the outside “umbrella” bar, they’re delicious.
Windham gets crowded on nice days, isnt the largest and doesnt offer much expert terrain. Still its a quick drive from NYC and a great place to learn to ski or ride. Many people choose hunter, but if culture, customer service and common courtesy are important, I recommend Windham.
Fun mountain with a variety of trails for everyone to enjoy. The base lodge area is clean and offers a wide range of activities for people coming off the slopes for a break and others who are there just to enjoy the resort. Their sorting of the lift lines needs work and causes a lot of back up and frustration from patrons.
Came for a day-trip on 2/22, it was a ZOO. Avoid this place on the weekends. The line for the triple left literally took 30 minutes.. absolutely ridiculous. For a mountain that tries to be upscale, their lift technology is decades behind. A triple lift from the base.. thats not acceptable in 2020. Theres several really good runs here from both peaks but youre hampered by the insane lift lines. Cafeteria on the 2nd floor of the main lodge is pretty lackluster, hoping to try the 3rd floor restaurant or the Wheelhouse lodge next time. For beginner-intermediate skiers, I really liked Upper Wraparound->Whiskey Jack->Lower Wraparound, a very nice run. Wanderer is also a nice long run.
Town was very dead basically we wasted gas & drove 2 hours & 30 mins 140 miles total to this town all because this JOKER wanted a Written quote & contract after carefully going over blue prints & meeting his (wife) Because they insisted we had to meet them because they wanted us to do all the remaining work. We became their professional quote guy. I was his pawn in the game because unbenouced to me he was the contractor who already way under bidded this very large 3 story beautiful resort. I know I was way above generous driving out to meet them going over details on blue prints Rewriting the contract 2 times 2 hours on phone calls. We or any contractor for that matter do not provide Free written detailed Contracts & quotes. We will tell you a verbal number quote in person as long its with in a 30 min drive. Our Detailed Written quotes & Proposals Require a Deposit of $150.00 per quote. The Customers get their Deposit of $150.00 back once we are hired to do their Project we only hold the Deposit for 30 days. So Windham Mountain it self gets 5 stars for being Beautiful Mountain Thank you all for reading this far on my Valueable lesson & experience hence the reason we changed our policy on how we will give quotes in the future.
Great conditions despite the lack of snow, wasnt too crowded and the lifts were nice. Damper on the visit was the parking was terrible. You park super far then have to wait for a bus to take you back. If you go as a group you wait for ever for a bus or just walk in your boots. If this mountain got its act together and did parking like normal people this would be 5 stars, the skiing really was exellent otherwise I would give 3 stars.
We visited yesterday, 1/18/20. What a circus. Firstly we had a very difficult time finding parking. Forty (40) plus minutes circling the lot(s). Then once we finally found a spot we had to walk an incredible distance uphill, with a child and equipment to the lodge. Then, once finally inside we could not find any place to get dressed. All of the tables, chairs, benches (and floor space!) were absolutely maxed out. By the time we were finally dressed and ready to ski we settled for the afternoon lift ticket option which is from 2-8. So finally at 2:00 we get outside to find the longest lift lines weve ever seen. Add to that the extremely icy conditions and early closure (7:30 due to fireworks) weve decided to ski someplace else next time.
Stellar day On the slopes. Beautiful weather, nicely groomed. Definitely come back soon. Five star service all over the mountain.
We went yesterday for the very first time doing snowboarding. And we enjoy a lot! Was super nice place, great people, good prices and beautiful place.Hardly recommend it.
Beautiful view of the leaves changing.
Great local spot thats more lowkey and has solid runs
I am on the snowboarding team at Windham Mountain. I really love it. I go up every weekend with my family it is a lot of fun for all ages! Windham family friendly and family oriented place. They provide great services for the disabled and Windham is great! It is really fun! :)
There were so many options to choose from in order to snowboard! They offered free classes, the lines moved fast considering the number of people, and the paths were numerous. It was my first time snowboarding in general and it was great!
Would be great if it wasnt 60 degrees
A little off the beaten path but worth the time. Good terrain for all to have a fun day of riding. Star number five would come if the mountain steps up terrain park and jumps ... ️
Very affordable Ski and Snowboard rentals with awesome trainers. You will be experienced in an hour and ready to go up the bigger slopes with confidence.on another note. The food here at the cafeteria is a bit pricy, but it is the most delicious quality food around so you dont have to step out the resort.
Great mountain, close to NYC and perfect for day trips. Their snow making team is top notch and the bars and outdoor fire pit isnt to bad either.
Really nice place to ski. Many levels of slops to choose from: A long beginner Green to many Double Black Diamond. They have the Main Peak and the East Peak that requires usage on 2nd G lift. They also have additional lifts for part way up. They also have a beginner area for learning. The mountain looks best when you get lucky to see hoarfrost on the trees, it is amazing.Safety is great and ski patrol is really nice and effective. Great doctor and staff on location in case of a ski accident.
Windham Adventure Park - Snow tubing review. Pros - beautiful mountains to look at. Lodge with restrooms and some food/vending machines. Nothing else positive to say. Cons - VERY short slope. Boring, maybe OK for kids up to 8 years. Not more. With 6 (out of 8) lines open on Sunday, only two associates were working on the top and two down the slope. They were allowing people to go down ONLY on two lines at a time. Therefore we had to wait 35-40 minutes in line for each ride. Ridiculous. The two guys who were working down the slope did absolutely nothing. Instead they were chatting to each other, sliding on their butts (literally), and were completely ignoring what was going on on the slopes. When I almost ran on a tube into some guy, who was standing in the tube line, and asked those employees why they were not watching peoples safety, they told me its not their job to remove people from lines in a timely manner. How is that?! Definitely not coming back.#wasteofmoney
Great Fun. IF you like speed but afraid of charging when going down their is a green trail from the top of the mountain with a straightaway which you can get really fast. It is a lot of fun.
Great skiing. Crowded a bit. Hardpacked with some icy spots. Overall decent. Make sure your edges are set up for it.
Love the mountain but not Kaylee at the front ticketing area. She doesn’t know how to use the computer to give a student discount she overcharged my friend $30 for no reason.Later management found us and gave us a gift card with $30 to make up for it!!
Trails were challenging enough to enjoy the day even though all the snow was man-made. Had a really nice time
Great conditions after a mild winter waning. Thats hard snowmaking work. Keep it up!
Loved it! Amazing mountains and the instructors are excellent. Awesome experience
Nice mountain. Was very icy yesterday but that was nobodys fault. I fell and hurt my leg and wanna say thanks to the first aid team for getting me down the mountain and checking out my foot.
Great time wish there were more servers. But great time! Band was awesome!!!
A fun mountain for all levels
I was obviously preparing for large crowds on the MLK weekend but did not expect to wait over an hour for the ski lifts. They needed way more crowd control employees directing and helping. At the base.
Northern Catskills are gorgeous, accessible, photogenic. Cool morning temps, cool off in the water afternoons. Great food and lodging. Hiking and biking for road and trail. Great for a 3 or 4 day getaway from the Metro Suburb and Urb areas. Mountain communities are tourist friendly. Antiquing, old car shows, and county fairs abound.
Chair lift ride to the top of the mountain to listen to an Allman Bros tribute band, cmon it was awesome !!!
These people don’t deserve any stars. It is nothing but rude people and a scam. They tell you one price once you get there they charge you more. The place was extremely dirty. Would NEVER recommend this place to anyone!
It was so much fun. I learned how to do basic snowboarding and overall it was a great experience
Fantastic eastern ski destination. A significant number of slopes for all skill levels.
Great snow. Great atmosphere
Amazing place to go if you like skiing.
I don’t know if it was luck, high quality snow machines, or something else, but having snowboarded only in the east I wasn’t used to how powdery the conditions were. Limited number of trails available because we went at night but damn did we have fun. Nice bar and restaurant as well. I really enjoyed experiencing not just this resort but the entire town and experience.
Definitely one of my top 5 favorite mountains to snowboard on. Multiple parks to practice tricks! They have a great staff, very clean park with easy access!, And even if you have to park too far they have a valet service!
Nicely managed ski resort. Personable ski instructors fir big and small and all levels of slopes.
Beautiful slopes great service over accommodation are above your standard.
I absolutely love this place. Great selection of slopes for every ski level. I prefer to go during the week and can easily get in a minimum of 20 runs. There is never any lines. As for food, super cool little shed outside all a way towards the right side. Also, go upstairs to the dinning room and there hot chocolate and wings are delicious!
Did a day trip up on NYC mid January 2018. Couldnt have possibly chosen a worse day to come since it had rained heavily the night before; staff warned our group that the mountain had lost almost all of its snow, which was then exacerbated by single digit temperatures the night before. Conditions were thus extremely icy, and two of the double blacks were sheer sheets of ice at their steepest, though to be fair the snow blowers were going and there was not much else to do from a management standpoint. Did feel like the rentals process was inefficient (especially the three-counter bottleneck at the skis/boards pickup), and its really about time hand-held ski pass scanning gave way to automated turnstiles.
Magical place.
Pretty great area, enjoyed it despite no new real snow in a week or so. Facilities are alright
Went to Mulligans Bar. Very nice people who work there especially Heather. Drinks a little high but not really out of line for the atmosphere.Highly recommend.
Awesome family friendly resort. Bring your kids and often... no matter how much they fight you. I was raised by this mountain.
The group rentals were great, awesome price. The Ski rental process was fairly easy, they had people helping every step of the way. Ski lessons were great, lift lines not too bad. Everyone was really nice, Guest services were great (even found my wifes car keys she lost on the ski hill). That was awesome. The only two things that could be improved was 1.) In the cafeteria area there did not seem to be enough seating. More seats would be appreciated. And 2.) Someone broke Into my sister in laws truck and stole her credit card. More Security in the parking lots or cameras in the lots would be really good.
Good family ski area for short drive away from central Pennsylvania
Windham mountain is a great semi local mountain. Ive skied it a couple times, but theyre mountain biking is why I really go there. They also host the high school mountain biking league (NICA NEW YORK). Best run in the place is wilderness roll.
Best place for ski...
Great place to visit in all seasons. Lots to do and beautiful scenery make it the right place to go without breaking the bank.
Great ski day.....24 of fresh snow with no lift lines. Nothing like midweek skiing in early December!
Great boarding and skiing
Great mountain for its size. Plenty of different level skiing options as well. It does get really crowded, however if you take your time and look out for others you should be fine. The views are some of the best in NY.
Love this place but they literally never answer their phones.
Amazing place for winter sports!!!
It was a lovely day. Until my skis were stolen.
First year of Keg, Rattle & Roll Event on the mountain. Good beginning, but hopefully will only get better.Definitely need more white tents for shade AND more chairs. One tent was not enough as not all of us are bronze goddesses and there were many young children present.Food selection was good, but missed seeing favorite kettle corn and an soft ice cream vendor (absolute on hot day).Band was FAR away. Whats with that? If they played at lower volume could they not be closer? And if you really want people on the ski lift (Perfect day for!), pay someone to walk around selling tickets.Anyway, my husband and I had a great time; perfect way to spend a summer Saturday, but definitely room for improvement for 2020.Thanks & looking forward to 2020!Pat & Bob PkannengieserGilboa
Nice runs. Came during a storm mid week that made 5 inch +. Perfect conditions for the area.
Fun mountain great staff good times ..well groomed
I took my girls here to learn to ski as part of the I SKINY Kids Learn To Ski Free Program. We could not have had a better experience. Everyone had a smile on their face and made it a day my girls wont forget. The parking lot attendees and the bus driver were some of the friendliest Ive met (and I have been to almost every ski hill and resort in New England and NY), the ticket folks were patient and accommodating with the program we were under, the rental folks were very helpful with teaching the kids about their gear, and the instructors were warm and inviting. Also, as a parent, I trusted them intrinsically with my kids. Even the lifties and ski patrol were wicked nice! Overall, it was a great visit and well surely be back!
Golfing at Windham Country Club was a pleasure. Well kept course. Beautiful scenery.
Just great. The people, the view the Mt Biking!
Its getting better and better every year. It has new owners as of this year. Things are really looking up.
Limited number of trails, but theyre decently long. Staff is friendly and the facility is well maintained. My advice is preride, reride, free ride.
Great facilities and staff, didn’t try the food but loved the wide slopes and mountain setup. A few slow lifts but generally not many lines.
Great day! No lift lines! Staff was great!
