This museum is really great and interactive. It tells the difficult history of the region and also the science. We did not plan on going to this museum ans ended staying approximately 3 hours. I will be back to bring the rest of my children.

Took our family here and had a great couple of hours of fun. The lady up front didnt give me any hassle about using a reciprocal membership from another museum and explained everything they had in the museum. All my kids liked the museum, but my 4-year olds definitely liked the hand-on stuff in the space section, and the Snoopy/Space section.

This is so fun! My favorites have to be the Space Place and the limited time Dinosaur Exhibit! Honestly this place has so many fun things to do! For adults and children!! They set up for schools to go on field trips there! They have exclusive things to do for the field trips depending on what the class is learning! I totally suggest going there!!

Such a great museum! You get a little of everything here, and its a wide range of things that they cover, from local history all the way to space exploration. As an adult I learned quite a bit, but this is a great place to take kids as there will be something there to fascinate almost any interest and make the museum cool again in an age where sitting in front of a tablet is a major part of their worldly knowledge. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the layout of the first floor is inventive with some new knowledge waiting around every twist and turn!

I think museums are great for people to visit and it is important to visit for the knowledge the hold. While small, I do think this museum has a lot of good info about Wilmingtons history.

We originally planned to visit with our teen-aged granddaughter, but she claimed that she had already been there. We only had time to visit the part of the museum dealing with the earliest days of the area and during the Civil War, when the Port was the last one successfully blockaded by the Union. We learned a great deal in a short period of time. The exhibits are well labeled, a we gained a bit of insight into the region up to the time of the ending of the Civil War.

This is a wonderful place to find out history about the local area. Cool little games and fun things for the kids to do throughout the exhibits. They have a dedicated kid section and also at the times we went they had another fun area set up in a back room that looked REALLY fun! Educational garden area off to the side and plently of room for kids to roam! Friendly staff and very clean!

We went to visit during Thanksgiving week. Originally we were going just to see the exhibit on Wilmington on Film, but the rest of the museum was so interesting we stayed quite a bit longer than expected. The walk from the waterfront is not too bad.

When looking at the pictures online I was a bit hesitant on this museum as it appeared a bit small, but wow was I pleasantly surprised at just how well packed this place was! Being near 30 and without kiddos, I was also a little hesitant in going as there appear to be many opportunities for young children on the weekend and let’s be real, when kids take over, it’s sometimes hard to get close enough to anything to really appreciate it, however, I found there was a nice balance for both kids and adults. I honestly had a lot of fun playing in some of the exhibits that offered hands on learning tools. A great place for both kids and adults! Also, rhe minature replications of Civil-War era Wilmington and Fort Fisher are top notch! There was so much to see and experience. Shout out to Susan who was behind the Native American replicas of tools. She was warm, receptive, and knowledgeable. The woman at the front desk today was also very friendly and helpful. The first Sunday of each month is complementary to locals and this was a great way to kick off my recent move to the area. I’ll be back!
