Great food & drinks for a reasonable price. Fun place to go for everyone to dance and watch entertainment. They’re doing a great job keeping everyone safe with their social distancing routine including the entertainers. Nice get away to lounge friends, see entertainment, and party safely CDC style.Kudos to RCC for rocking w/the new norm!

I was there way too early but got to enjoy a couple beers and fried platter. Bartender was friendly. Space is big and there are pool tables. Prices were reasonable. Venue must be 18+ because I also got a bracelet saying I was legal to drink.

The environment is always fun here!The food and drinks are reasonable price.I usually go on Wednesdays but lately I have noticed some things.The lady asking for the cover charge was a bit rude.My friend was trying to ask if we can pay with card and she just keep repeating $3. Finally she mentioned she is hard of hearing. Later in the night my other friend also mentioned how she was very rude to her when giving her money. So it seems we were not the only ones who thought the same.The other issue I have is that they really need more bartenders. Even if they added one more I think it would help out a lot!When it gets a bit busy, the line to get a drink takes 20 mins at least.Meanwhile the regulars at the end of the bar are getting their drinks the instant they finish their first drink...It was quite annoying to see that.I missed a whole drag show set because of waiting for a drink. I didnt want to leave because then I would have to wait all over again.Also the bartender I have gone to a few times now, he never seems to be happy to be there.Lastly, for some reason the carpet always feels sticky. The closer you get to the dance floor the worst it gets.Even with these small issues I would still recommend going here.I just hope they are able to improve. :)

How can you not love this place. So much fun every time we go. Everyone is so nice and friendly. Great Drag shows. There are always amazing dancers there too. They also have great French fries. So hot and crispy.

One of my favorite places to go to let off some steam. The performers are all always amazing. The staff is great and will actually come to you and ask if you need a drink or food. And the security is really good at keeping things calm and fun. They do not allow people to be stupid drunk which is nice because you really can just kick back and have fun without having to constantly worry about someone acting like a fool. Drinks are priced well in my opinion.

Stopped in here on vacation road trip, lots of energy in this place! I thought we would stop in for hour..... Had too good of time and woke up in my car with womens flip flops on! ha

I moved here from nj and when I stepped into this bar on wednesdays all I heard all night was rap and hip hop. They only thing that made this sort of a gay bar was the drag shows they really bring some retro and dance music. Not a fan of the DJ just because there isnt enough gay dance music .

So ive been here countless times always something new and lively i love it so much i go three times a week pool dancing and great drinks

A rarity in both gay bars, and in Virginia. This gay friendly bar has been my favorote bar for 10 years now. The are clean, friendly, make amazing drinks, have good bar food, and always entertaining. The crowd is fun, younger, and never too rowdy. Even on a Wednesday night there is a good crowd of people, dancers, and drag! I recommend this bar for anyone looking to habe a good drink, eat good food, and meet great people!

I like this bar a lot, people are nice and good drink price. I wished they played a little more dance music over so much rap. Also it would be nice if they expanded their franchise and opened another location closer to norfolk

Cozy spot to have a drink and see some talented performers. I do wish there would be a little more time to dance in between shows but I enjoyed my time here!

So is a nice friendly atmosphere and prices for food and drinks are very reasonable. The only thing i dont like is the lighting this bar is way too bright inside. Especially the stage , ive notice people dont jump to dance very fast and based on my bar experience i can tell they need to dim the lighting more so people dont feel like they are been put on a spot when they go on stage. The darker it is the more people are willing to jump on the floor. I give it a 3 out of five for now.

Not a nice place to hang out and smells like a bar.A bottle of beer was priced one dollar more from one bartender and one dollar cheaper at a different bartender at the other end of the bar.The security dudes were discussing how much I spent in the place as if I didnt hear them.I think the jello shots had drugs in them.Some cute WAITER guy sold me jello shots, NO LIE.

I walking toward the door right after last call. Along with everyone else in the club. As I was walking across the floor, i was finishing up a 3rd of my beer before I left. The lady at the door saw me finishing it as I was walking, she said hey to one of the toads that work there, and he walked up and ripped the beer out of my hand and said get out. This was 25 minutes before 2am. I was in mid sip of the beer. Now Im not a big drinker. I wasnt drunk. I literally sip on maybe 3 or 4 bud lights all night. Have no idea why I was singled out or why they were so angry. But for sure the whole staff was really really rude to everyone walking out at the end of the night. They were nice while the customers were spending money. I tip huge. Tip on every beer bought. Gave the bar tender my last 10 bucks on my last beer bought. I should have been said to at least finish it up quickly. I would have said no problem, taken my last chug and left.. If you dont believe me ask him. I was the guy last night with the brown shirt. Muscular build and Patriots hat. He was the shirtless bartender.

I wish I could give a better review, however, under the circumstances I don’t think that will be possible. I walked in 7:45pm on a Wednesday night, oddly enough the place was dead. Truth be told, A graveyard has more going on. There was a drag queen sitting in the corner of the room drinking a cocktail, kinda like something out of a funny movie. The person at the bar was really rude, after coming in I hear someone say “where’s your ID’s”, I wasn’t gonna argue with someone I didn’t know so I gave her my ID, and she drew two huge X’s on my hand with black marker. I tried to tell her i was allergic to permanent ink but my hand was sabotaged anyways. Advice to management is there are other ways to prevent minors from buying alcohol, especially if someone is allergic to permanent sharpie ink.

My friends and I come here almost every weekend-every other weekend. We love it here. Only problem I have is the music...its always the same songs, same genre, etc. Other than that I have nothing against this place. We come for a littl R & R. Nice place to meet new people.

Im straight and have been going to the Cactus with my gay friends for about two years now. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. The drinks are strong and well priced. This along with knowing half the people in the bar makes for an excellent weekend experience.

Its an ok place. They have great drinks. The drag show is the same old stuff nothing new. Need more acts. Seems like the main one needs a refresh. Same music over and over can we get some new music. Its like the Dj has 1 mix he keeps playing. Maybe if you are lucky he will put some new stuff in the middle. And a lot of the people there are so up tight.

Me and some friends visited this club while on vacation. They have a smoking and non smoking section. My friends and I went to the smoking section to smoke our black and milds and was told that we couldnt smoke because we had black and milds. My thing is that smoke is smoke as long it wasnt anything illegal. Ijs they need to revisit there smoking policy.

Went here last night for the first time and it will definitely not be my last. It was so much fun. The shows were okay, the drinks were made just right, and the DJ knows how to keep the audience happy.

The drag show and the charity event were fun. There is not a lot of space for dancing and while its meant to be an accepting environment, its very easy to feel excluded by the bars regulars. There are also a ridiculous amount of straight people that attend so it really doesnt feel like an LGBTQ​+ safe space.

I love this place for the drinks and entertainment, but the Dj really needs to switch up the dance mix before the drag shows. He needs to learn how to start a party with his mixes, not make people walk off the dance floor. Smh

These dancers need to step up! Batender is ok could be better but in a place like this you dont expect much. Worst gay bar ever.

I would give this place a negative star if I could. These people were the worst representation of the gay community Ive really ever experienced. Heres a tip bar staff when someone is from out of state, be nice to them.

Horrible dance music. One of the bartenders was really rude. Drag show was not the best. 80% of the time they are just hugging guest and only play slow songs. The whole layout is very bad. The dance floor as no fans facing ot so it get hot very fast, the dance floor is small. Also it seems like its a bar that TRIDED very hard to be a club but failed. I do not recommend

I havent been to this place in a few months (around mardi gras) but I just want to make this review as a forewarning to any black person going here, this establishment has institutionalized racism. There is a security gaurd there that kept messing with me throuhout the night. I had my foot up on the stage holding onto the railing dancing (NOT ON THE STAGE, I know patrons are not supposed to get on it, its mainly for the drag queens), he told me to get down. I obliged & kept dancing. Since I didnt give him the reaction he wanted he took it a step further. I starting dancing in these dangling decorations (mardi gras theme thats how I vaguely remember the date) from the ceiling, Ill admit I could of ripped them down by accident but I was being carful but at the same time just having fun. If the security gaurd cared at all about the decorations he would of just told me to stop & I would of listened like before, but no, THIS RACIST SECURITY GAURD PUSHED ME & told me to go over there pointing more to the center of the dance floor. Why would he push me? He could of knocked me over & made me rip down the decorations which would of defeated the purpose of him stopping me from dancing in said decorations. He wanted to get a reaction out of me so he could ruff me up, kick me out, ban me from coming back & maybe even call the police on me. If i was sober I would of called the police because I was assaulted, but I was drunk & I knew a drunk BLACK mans arguement against a white man at works arguement would be futile when dealing with police. I saw exactly what was going on & at that point my night was ruined, I just kinda stood by the bar with my friend & we left soon after. I guess the racist security gaurd suceeded in ruining my night so I guess thats a small win for racists everywhere? Yipee? I havent been back since. I just got my bartending license & I want to bartend at a gay club/bar in the area but Rainbow Cactus, I avoid like the plague because if I got treated that poorly as a patron, IMAGINE IF I WORKED THERE. They would be crankin that whip on me everyday

Its the only major LGBT establishment in the area so its a nice place to hang out, but the drinks are a tad pricey and strong, the line dancing is a bit frustrating because like there are those of is who just want to dance.
