Played here for the first time this past weekend. There is a lot to like but some disappointing aspects as well. First, the good. Its a fun layout with several tees and combo tee options to consider. As a shorter course, its designed well to challenge off the tee as well as around the greens. Sometimes its more challenging visually off the tee than in reality which I think is a fun design concept. Lots of undulating fairways also make for a great way to protect a shorter layout.The greens were in excellent condition. Firm but easily held most shots (which helps given the elevation changes). They were also quite fast and you must pay attention to where you are relative to the hills and the valley since the greens will run toward the valley.Except for the greens, however, the condition of the course was not great, especially the tee boxes. I understand that, as a shorter layout, they are going to get a lot of people playing less-than-driver off the tee so more divots are common but many of the tee boxes were more sand than grass and hard to find flat teeing ground. The fairways were better but the common landing areas in the fairway were oftentimes less optimal than being in the rough.From a layout perspective, the elevation changes make walking challenging, but doable if one is in reasonably good shape. However, by having the course meander through residential areas with long distances between holes, walking becomes impractical, especially if others in the group ride. And there is no walking rate.Value is part of the review so for $80 weekend rate, I would probably give this 3.5 stars given I played The Reserve in Stockton the previous day for half the price and the conditions were significantly better.

The Arnold Palmer designed course is a very good layout, challenging & fun. Well maintained and attractive.

Good course, but booked a tee time here on GolfNow for $18 and they charged me $20 to have my wife ride along and watch and not play.

Golf course was well cared for and challenging to play

I really enjoy this course. Bit of a drive for me to get there but well worth it. Not much of a driving range but putting green and short game area are great to warm up.

Really liked the course. I have not been in over a decade. Played decent. The dog at the turn was incredible. The beer at the 19th was cold and swrved with a smile! Great day!

This place is the most wonderful place to get married! Joy worked with us after the person thy we were working with left and I have to say she is the best! She truly made sure everything went smoothly and on time!! The staff in general were amazing and making sure we were taken care of!! It was the best!!If I can give them 10 stars I would!! I totally recommend this place to anyone who is getting married!! Everyone there is awesome and you can tell they love what they do!Thank you so much for everything Hiddenbrooke!!!

Almost always in great shape tough course but fun and rewarding at the same time. Beautiful layout with lots of elevation changes. Watch out for whole number 2 itll bite you in the arse every time. And its only a 470 yard par 5.

Hiddenbrooke is a course of great variety. The greens are always in good shape. Some great par-4s a great finishing par 5 on 18 1 spectacular par-3 over a canyon ... a real treat

Very friendly service even though I’m not the typical “golfer” looking type. The carts are part electric, part gas, run smooth, we just wished it was easier to tell which hole we were at.

Great course but they booked way too many people. It seriously took 3 in a half hours to play the front 9. They should have told us on the phone before booking that their were 3 tournaments going on that day. I dont even think the last tournament was able to finish before dark.

I really enjoyed the course. Its challenging, but fair. On this day, however, the course was VERY wet due to a lot of rain overnight. As such. cart path only, very high rough, and a super slow tournament in front of of us. Made for a slow, challenging day with waiting 8-10 minutes on every hole. Id like to come back when it dries. Course staff were great, and player assistance was out to try and move everyone along.

The golf course is great, but the type of people playing have no sense of time. They dont understand what pace of play means.

Flowers in bloom make the perfect backdrop to the golfers pastel shirts and shiny clubs. I wish my camera were working...

The greens are in great shape, having just recently been punched about 5 weeks ago, but there is some work that still needs to be done out in sone of the Fairways .. quite a bit of sanded divots..Anyways a grwat track, many challenges, and quite pretty, overall. The only reason not giving 5 stars is from tee-bixes needing to be re-leveled, and some groundskeeping work, but overall a great course for the fees. i will be back many ti.esjc

Hurting for grass. Tough from the tips but course is not in very good shape...minus greens...greens rolled good.

I am a wedding coordinator who had a wedding here. This is such a wonderful place to have your dream wedding. All of our guests, including the bride and groom, were highly impressed by the gorgeous view of this golf club. Plus, the food and service are amazing too. We all had such an unforgettable day here!!! Highly recommend!

The golf course is very good course but due to the wet winter and spring the fairways and rough are not in good shape due to the wet condition it is very hard to maintain. The greens are in fairly good shape.

Great course layout, condition excellent for February golf. I would love to return the summer and play. Thinking man scores not too long but pay attention to shot location adequate room on your two shot for her but strategic on your second shot

The range wasnt open for use. We teed off at10:00. Finally saw the snack cart on the 17th hole. Clubhouse was excellent.

Tee boxes terrible. Grass is out of control. Ponds stagnant and almost empty. Seen better days...

Course was beautiful, first cuts were a bit long, though. Amenities could have been better for the price (restaurant, cart facilities). Lots of elevation!

Beautiful clubhouse. The driving range is not attaches to the course. You have to pick up your bucket of balls and drive down the street to the range. The range is a great place to practice uphill drives and you always get to hit off real grass.

I went with my father in celebration of my birthday and we were both elated to play golf at a Troon course especially since Troon courses are sparse in Northern California. I am visiting from Arizona were Troon courses are a standard to all of the other courses around- meaning courses are pretty well kept up as competition is steep. Upon arrival at the course, the employees were pleasant and helpful, but when stepping on the tee boxes, one would ask themselves if they were really on a Troon course. Or, for those who never played a Troon course would think differently because of the reputation Troon Golf has in the first place. Therefore, buyers beware as one will be in for a big surprise if they are thinking they are embarking on a Troon course which they are not due to the condition of the course. Additionally, my father and I will not be returning to the course because the quality of the course is just not with the drive nor the time.

Its probably okay if your golfing and it really is pretty... but dont move here! We have Coyotes, and deer, and other animals. The deer are nice, but one night my husband and I heard a coyote eat either another coyote or a dog... Cannot blame the coyote after all it is nature, but it is dangerous to walk before or after sunlight hours because of the coyotes.

Only used the rec room for a wedding reception. Did the job but the venue was low on chairs. Kinda weird. Food ran late about 30mins. Small bar in the corner.

Clean beautiful views. Green fresh cut grass. Quiet lovely homeland courses also little store.

Course nothing to brag about. I guess it was a premier location back in the day, as was living in the community before the crash, but even after six days of sunshine, course is a soggy mess.

Not at all what I expected for a new years party. It was dull, lifeless and the people were very anti social. Too bad.

Needs to upgrade some of its furniture but overall a really nice place to relax or hold golf tournaments.

As bad of conditions as I’ve ever played at any golf course! The tee boxes were in awful shape, mostly just bumpy mounds of dirt, the bunkers were rock hard and had pools of water in them (it has not rained here in weeks). The greens were terribly groomed, our golf balls were bouncing around on the surface and on one hole there was a huge mound of dirt, like a gopher hole, in the middle of the green. Very upset I wasn’t given my money back. Had never played this course before and was looking forward to my round. I will never come back!

A hidden gem, beautiful grounds! Its like an oasis of green surrounded by dry rolling hills in the summer. Nice homes surrounding the area as well.

Wasnt at the clubhouse. I have family living in the hiddenbrook community. Ive been to an event or two at the clubhouse. Its a nice venue.

This is a hidden gem for the value. The course routing is great and the conditions are top notch year round. Definitely worth a trip out here, even if its a little out of the way.

Course is always in great shape, pro shop is clean and well organized and bar is not crazy expensive. In my top 10 bay area courses easily.

Beautiful GC. Scenic vistas, rolling fairways, honest greens. Max carry on those holes that require carry is 140 yds.Practice area is one of the best.Cust. assist was great, saw cart girl 3 times, and post round patio lounging was good.

Even though its difficult I had a great time playing golf here. This course is definitely one of the hardest courses I have played. If you are new to golf this is not the place to start. You might never play again! From 150 yards out the course gets really narrow and the greens are small. Almost every hole is like this. A great course for the consistent iron player.
