Tucked away in a creekside valley this historic resort has been frequented by people for the healing waters since the mid 1800s. Before that, the indigenous people used these Springs for thousands of years. Anyone know the Pomona name for these sorings? Tranquil and Magical, it has been one of my favorite hangouts for over four decades.Reservations only. Call first.

Spent a magical birthday here. What a beautiful, serene place. Lots of friendly people and rejuvenating tub time.I was here early in the week and was told it can get kinda crowded on the weekends. The yurt was lovely, quiet and secluded. Curious to try the campsites once it gets warmer.Staff was warm and welcoming - they let me use some tools to break into my car after I accidentally locked my keys inside upon a very excited arrival!Thank you for a lovely time and many more to come.p.s. Montgomery Woods is a nice stop just up along the road. Gentle trails and beautiful trees.

Let me start by saying this is not a bad review of the place. But it is a bad review of the lack of communication I received while trying to stay here. I called this place back in March knowing full well the uncertainty of Covid and what that might do. I spoke to a friendly woman who went as far as booking me into a specific room for one night on a Thursday. I was told I would be called the closer it got to my arrival date (mid-Sept) to take payment given the uncertainty of Covid. I hadnt heard anything from them at all and decided to email them yesterday to see if I could pay for my reservation. Was told at that point that they completely changed the reservation policy and no longer would honor my stay as the minimum stay changed to three nights and they would only allow overnights on the weekend. This is extremely aggravating as this was a highlight of our week long trip to the area and everything else was scheduled and booked around it! I explained the situation and tried to give them a chance to make the situation right and they wouldnt do that. They didnt even apologize for not honoring my stay or not contacting me to inform me of the changes. I found out they opened again in the beginning of July! But no follow up call or email in that entire time! I wish no ill will of this place, but I would have expected at least a sincere apology for not contacting me and forcing me to have to find lodging at the last minute and ruining a night for my wifes b-day that we have been looking forward to for months!

Its been 30 years since I stayed here. I used to come up from Silicon Valley for an occasional weekend. I would camp out, and do a work exchange. I would do things like clean cabins, weed the garden, and haul wood.Looking over the website, it looks like theyve made a lot of changes. I would love to visit someday, when I can return to California.

The only reason it doesnt get a 5star is there can always be improvement. It was last year when we went. The night watchman was quite rude and not very personable. I have a service dog which they would not allow me to leave in the room alone. Of course I was NOT going to bring her in the sauna with me so I had her tied outside the door. Because she was unable to check on me, she barked disturbing other guests. Had she been allowed to stay in the room by herself she would have known she was off duty and just gone to sleep. The bathrooms were quite cold and could have definitely used a heater. Other than that, the place is beautiful and relaxing.

My friends and I drove up here from SF for a wonderful retreat weekend. The facilities are fantastic, with multiple warm and cold pools, claw foot tubs, a sauna, and a steam room.A few tips:1. Bring a bathrobe!2. They have plenty of cooking / baking equipment (pots, pans, etc)3. Make sure you bring spices and all your food! The only spices we could find were salt and pepper.4. If youre looking for a day hike check out Montgomery Woods, it is only about a mile down the road.5. Try to do the drive up there or back during daylight hours, it is beautiful!

This place is a dream. Deep in the redwoods, out of cell phone range. They limit how many people can stay over and come for day use so its never too crowded. Cooking in the communal kitchen can be hectic at peak hours but everyones good natured and it works out one way or another.Soaking in the hot tubs under the stars and sweating it out in the steam room just feel so good. Facilities are super well maintained and clean. It feels like freedom.

I was a bit disappointed by these Mineral Springs... We were super hyped up about our visit and were expecting them to be more diverse, more zen, cozier and more intimate... There were only two (super tiny) hot pools right next to each other to enjoy, which were shared, plus a steam bath and a sauna. The large cold swimming pool was not accessible at the time of our visit, and a third hot pool the size of a home jacuzzi tub was filled each time by only one person sitting/laying in it. We did enjoy the communal kitchen afterwards and made our own meal.

This place is zen magic. You have to book a few weeks in advanced and is well worth the investment. The staff at Orr Hot Springs is super helpful, friendly, and excited to share with you. My partner and I traveled there on a Thursday afternoon, the patrons were minimal, quiet, and respectful. It is a mixture of old energy in a modern world. No WIFI, which was welcomed. We camped in lot #6. Recommended if you want minimal traffic walking by your tent. It is the only lot on the other side of the creek, that runs through the property. All the pools, tubs, were up to temperature and ready for use. My personal favorite was the cold pool at 62 degrees and contrasting back and forth.A fantastic retreat outside of Ukiah. Much appreciated to have had the opportunity to experience Orr Hot Springs.

What a gem! Being at Orr felt like hanging out at someones house or on their land....albeit with sulphur springs and sans-clothes. The communal kitchen has lots of great utensils -- electric beaters, blender, coffee makers up the wazoo -- and you can cook meat and bring alcohol (unlike Harbin). The lodge is cozy and filled with the few other folks that are staying there, instruments and games, two cats, a fireplace, and comfortable couches. If youre lucky enough to be there when Sid is working, youll hopefully get to hear the beautiful music coming off his guitar. The rooms are simple, clean and warm. The pools are all shallow, and range from pretty hot to pretty cold (none as extreme as Harbin). The steam room is steamy. The grounds are beautiful. Apparently theres hiking nearby, off the property -- the person at the desk can direct you there. It never feels crowded -- which means you should book it right now!

Terrible. They booked our reservation, then, after we already loaded up and headed south, canceled it for having three children. Our kids are quiet, respectful and have been in hot spring environments before. Terribly disappointed.

I definitely wouldnt return or recommend this place. The staff (and most of the guests) were snarky and the energy was tense. Especially in the common areas. Not what I had expected considering we were in the middle of nature, disconnected from the real world. The hot spring baths were tiny and seating was very limited. Not to mention, all of the bathing areas were filthy. If you want a beautiful hot springs experience, in a warm and peaceful environment, I would recommend Esalen in Big Sur.

I always enjoy Orr. Grace & I have been visiting for some 15 years, perhaps once or twice a year. Weve been in summer, spring, late fall and winter & we always enjoy it. This past time with snow on the ground and some pipes frozen was delightful...My troubles seem to get lost in the many turns up Orr Springs Road, and I find time for reflection, rest and often an excellent massage. I love the flowers in spring and summer. The community kitchen is fun and the dining room can get kind of lively on the weekends, but theres always the private tubs for quiet.

The water was amazing as was the grounds and accommodations. HOWEVER The staff (and some guests) attitudes were quite unpleasant. In the communal kitchen I felt like I was breaking some unwritten rules. Being a novice hot springer I felt lost and a bit intimidated. The cabins were cute and the couple staying next to us friendly. Overall though, Inviting and welcoming are not adjectives I would use. The deal breaker for the stay was the loss of my 4 month old galaxy tab I accidentally left in my room. I called and emailed within 4 hours of leaving and got no return call or email. Not ever. Thats hardly good karma for whoever found and did not return what was not theirs. Shame on you phony new age hippie types. SHAME ON YOU. Water was awesome though, Cant knock that!

Secluded, quiet, and sulfurous, Orr Springs has tubs for an individual private soak, and communal, clothing-optional pools with the hottest water, as well as an unheated swimming pool. Steam and dry saunas help to mix up the ways your body can relax. A community kitchen and dining area offer a place to get fed, complete with frequent local musicians that pass through. Private cabins are available for those not just looking for a day-pass to the springs.
