I brought Fido with me and she was able to enjoy time with her peeps walking the grounds. If you enjoy gardening, especially Florida fauna you will love this place. Would like to go back in the early Spring when the antique tea roses are really putting on a show! I bet the aroma is amazing!! Fun historical home to visit.

A very Tallahassee historic venue. The new air conditioned barn dinning area worked very well. Food was great. The grounds are well kept. Its like being in the country, but only minutes from the Capitol. Handles parties up to two hundred persons.

One of the most charming venues in Tallahassee, Goodwood Museum and Gardens hosts beautiful landscape and unique architecture throughout the property. The staff are so sweet and helpful which is always appreciated when working at a wedding venue. We love when we get the opportunity to work at Goodwood as we always know we will have stunning photos of our couples on this gorgeous property.

Goodwood is a great location to host small, medium, and even large events, and the centralized location is super-convenient. Joe Manausa Real Estate hosted our annual Spring Family Carnival at Goodwood and had nearly 500 people in attendance. The facilities were just what we needed, and all had a good time. The weather was perfect, and we were able to set up many of the attractions underneath the shade of the several-hundred-year-old southern live oaks in the yard. These trees are a Tallahassee treasure, and we certainly appreciated their shade during our event. The yard at Goodwood was large enough that we could spread out and let the children play and have a good time while the adults could have discussions without having to compete with a lot of background noise. The historic buildings scattered around Goodwood are a whole other conversation, as they give the facilities the appearance of old Tallahassee. We used them mostly to provide power for our bounce houses as well as a location for our face-painting station for the kids. One note was that there were power issues, so it was fortunate we brought back-up generators to run the outdoor kitchen and bounce houses. Overall, a 5-star event hosted at a 5-star facility, and I highly recommend Goodwood for anybody looking for the ideal Tallahassee event location.

We loved having our daughters wedding at Goodwood. It had a lovely setting for an outdoor wedding, outdoor cocktail hour, indoor reception and cottages for bridal party. Everything went very smoothly and staff were very easy to work with. The grounds were beautiful, parking ample. We would highly recommend it and found the price to rent very reasonable.

Quaint and cute place to visit for a walk with a friend or on a date. The grounds are open to the public and Goodwood is really doing a lot right now to get the community involved and to diversify its audience. For example, they are currently hosting Mindful Mondays during lunchtime on Mondays (yoga or meditation depending on the date). They also boast a community garden. If you dont suffer from allergies (like I do) it is best to visit in spring when everything is in bloom (and before the summer heat and mosquitoes). Spring in North Florida comes early so think late February and early March, but be prepared for our bipolar Tallahassee weather to throw you a cool day or two.

My Mom and I were given a wonderful private tour (not booked privately, but no one else was there at the same time we were) of this beautiful home. I was especially intrigued by the realization that all of the items in the house are original to the home. So often I find on historical house tours that the items are from the representative period, but are not original to the home. It would be a great tour for older children to show them what life was like in earlier times. The price for the tour was reasonable, and we had two lovely and knowledgeable guides who answered any question we could think of! No photos are allowed inside the home, but you can take photos outside the home and on the grounds. It is free of charge to wander the grounds if you arent able to take the house tour, and there are informative signs throughout the lovely park-like grounds. There is a cafe that is open for lunch on the grounds as well.

Enjoyed attending a wedding at the Carriage House. The facilities were very nice and I am glad to see that Goodwood has added some outdoor lighting so that the parking lot is not so treacherous. However, right during the ceremony, a car came driving through on one of the interior roads. Maybe the staff could put out Wedding in progress. Do not enter

The old plantation home and grounds is a step- back-in time venue, but I admire its forthright and conscientious acknowledgement today of past lives that included men, women and children who weren’t free people in Antebellum South. The history of Goodwood becomes a sobering lesson, and the facilities are used by minority groups for events confronting that history with purpose.

The Goodwood Museum & Gardens offers a relaxing environment to go for a stroll or sit beneath the shade of a tree with a good book. The manor house comes to life with such knowledgeable staff running it. I even happened to stop by on a day when local painters were encouraged to reflect on their canvas the natural beauty all around them. Simply a treasure of a place in the heart of Tallahassee!

The tour is not very child friendly especially for young children. There are a lot of breakable items in the home and I was very afraid of them touching something especially after one of the employees told them to keep their hands behind their back the whole time. The upstairs was also extremely hot the day we went. The house has a very interesting history and I personally enjoyed the house tour and we have ourselves a tour of the grounds. I would recommend this tour for adults and older children I would say 10 and up.

I extensively travel to historic homes throughout the USA and Europe, and Goodwood is definitely one of the most interesting! I found the owners histories very engaging and the guides anecdotes very amusing. I was pleasantly shocked at the surviving collection of vintage clothes ranging from the early 19th century to the mid 20th century. The interiors are like stepping back into the early 20th century. I feel like if Edith Wharton, and Alva Vanderbilt had visited, they would have been very comfortable as houseguests. This house was the height of pre-WWI luxury. Be prepared to spend 90-minutes for the house tour, but it will soon pass because it is very enjoyable.

We read about this house in a guide book, which is on a tourist drive through old cotton country, which the curator was interested in as he didnt know it was in there. The staff are really helpful and on the guided tour he described many items within the household and grounds. If you are in the Tallahassee area, take a half day out and take a look around the house, out buildings and gardens. Immerse yourself in the middle of the 19th Century. you will not be disappointed!
