Me age 70, my wife age 69 and our 3 1/2yr old Rat Terrier go for walks here at Bicentennial Park in Surprise, Az. We all look forward to these walks but Jake who is enthusiastic about so many things, dearly loves the thought of these walks there.

Basic park I suppose nothing super special. It was my first time at an Arizona park and thought it was cool thats it was under cover. Only in the desert I guess. The baseball field was pristine! Ive never seen a field at a public park look so nice.

It has an exercise path, you can walk, do pull ups, sit ups, etc. There is a basketball court, a playground with swings, climbing and balancing. There are bathrooms. There is a baseball field. It is a good place for kids to ride bikes. However, there are always homeless people, sometimes so many that you cant even use the picnic table area at all. They sleep on the tables and have so many carts and crates full of belongings that it looks like a fully equipped house.

Bicentennial homeless shelter is more like it. We ended up picnicking on a bench. Two family picnickers ate on the ground because all the tables were occupied.

Love the exercise path...the honeless that hang around all day buying and selling stolen stuff among other things really make it difficult to fully enjoy ....after weeks of trying to help them move forward and finding out my stolen property is in their possesion I decided they dont want to be helpef and any One donating to them directly should be aware of the situation ....there is drugs beung used there and sold there and there is stolen property being bought and sold by both of the homeleas people who now call it home

There seems to be a homeless group situation.they take up one of the picnic shelters. It makes me nervous when we go there. We pick up trash when we go to the park and I am wondering why they make no effort to clean the area.
