My son has been a student at LPAC since 2nd grade and is now a junior in high school. The studio has become a second home to him and my entire family. All the teachers that have taught him have successfully brought out the truly best in him. He has learned discipline, confidence, respect, humbleness and many more traits that a dedicated dancer should possess. One of the most valuable traits that he has been taught is the power to believe in himself by always giving his very best and allowing himself to always step out of his comfort zone. The magic that happens in the studio is one to be commended. Jimmy Locust and his brilliant staff offer many genres of dance. They are all extremely talented and never disappoint because the love and compassion in every teacher and classroom shows every time the curtain opens at the end of each class. The training that is offered at LPAC is like no other. If your child can only think about dancing LPAC should be their second home. It is truly a safe haven for children where they are taught to be respectful and mindful of their peers. My family is so blessed to be part of such a truly amazing dance community. My gratitude for Jimmy and his amazing staff is larger than life ️

This is the BEST dance studio! I have 4 children dancing here - 3 girls and 1 boy. I am blown away each year by the quality of the instruction they get from the wonderful teachers. I’m also consistently amazed by Jimmy and his ability to make every child in his studio feel special. He goes to great lengths to speak to all of the dancers, get to know them, and praise them for their hard work. He knows everyone’s name - the dancers, their parents, and their siblings! Everyone is welcome here - we have special needs in our family but at LPAC we feel fully accepted and at home and we have since day one. The staff and other families are welcoming and kind. The older dancers are awesome role models for the younger ones and often will be assistant teachers in the younger classes. The precautions they are taking during the pandemic are second to none. I can’t recommend this place highly enough - we love it!

I’ve been following Jimmy (Locust) on FB for quite sometime now. Knowing both personally and by acquaintance, members of LPAC, here in Stamford. My 10 year old daughter took a year of dance elsewhere (HipHop/Lyrical) and really took a liking to it. She did gymnastics for a few years prior to. She wanted to continue with HipHop so we decided to try out LPAC studio. Signed up and eager to start, we came to realize with COVID, it wasn’t convenient to just waltz in and tour about the studio, Jimmy’s recent video of the protocols, restrictions and cleanliness helped us immensely.Fast forward to last night, my daughter took her first class with Ms Angelina (beginners’ HipHop, 6:15p-7:15p) We walked in the front door a little nervous starting anew, yet hopeful. There, a lovely woman stood. (Pardon me for not asking her name) She asked for names, checking temperatures and properly worn masks as she had one on herself. She escorted my daughter in, along with her friend who is also a newbie.Off they went. The hostess, after I explained that we are new and never entered the studio before, gave us a brief tour. Clean, pristine and thorough. She was very professional and I thanked her for taking a moment to assist and show. She directed us to the back entrance and off, we went.*We, meaning myself and the mom of my daughters’ friend. After an hours time, they both came out smiling, happy and verbally shared their experience. Once we came home, my daughter impatiently showed me her new found dance moves. ️ Needless to say, they are eager (yet again) for next Friday. Happy I made the decision to send her to LPAC and hope this will turn into a long lived tada for her.Without further ado, I personally thanked Jimmy by saying It is an honor to finally have my daughter at LPAC and seeing her happy makes me...happy.I appreciate his professionalism and following the guidelines during these unsettling times. Impressive, to say the least.

LPAC is outstanding for children and adults. I’ve known and danced with Jimmy since 2006 and both of my girls trained with him. He is the consummate professional and requires the same level of excellence from his staff. Everyone is given an opportunity to learn and perform and emerge into the best they can be.Jimmy’s passion for dance and performing arts provides students with exposure to technical skills and the discipline needed to be good at dance and managing life. I had my first recital at 48 years and Jimmy coached me through it!During this stressful time of COVID the studio has taken all necessary precautions to reopen and continue providing the highest level of service to everyone. Kudos Jimmy!

My daughter has been dancing at LPAC for over 10 years. She is now a senior in HS, and plans to pursue dance in college and beyond. The teachers and staff are inspiring, nurturing, and professional. The genuine care and love they pour into these kids goes above just dance! The wonderful staff, students and families have made LPAC a second home. We are forever grateful.

Let me just start off by staying this. My daughter been going to this school since it first opened up. It was very good in the beginning. Lots of different types of classes at all different levels, no bullying, no favoritism, nothing. It’s hurts me to say years later my daughter got bullied during class and ran out after and cried in my car all the way home. Many other things happened at this place to but I feel better not saying it. This place didn’t teach her anything... unless you want to pay for 10 classes a week and get favored maybe you will learn something. If you have the money to come here do it I guess but if you want to get actual training go to a different place. I wish I never had to write this review but my daughter it’s just so hurt from that place she never even wants to dance again after years and years of dance. One positive about this place I would say is the receptionist this is very nice.

I love LPAC! Every instructor that we have had has been amazing, especially Jimmy. He really takes a special interest in each child there, and gives them pointers and recognition at the end of each class. LPAC also supports children being unique and different. This is the perfect environment for my son and has made a big difference in his self-esteem and what he thinks he is capable of. Thank you, thank you!

Very disappointed at todays showcase, not due to the performance but to the lack of compassion shown by one of the administrators of the LPAC team and the lack of communication.1-The school did not take into consideration financial courtesy in having two shows instead of one, so children who had both parents had to sort of decide if they wanted to shell out $80 to see their child perform in both shows or have one parent attend one show and the other parent the second show. Which is fine if both parents are there to represent;.2-They didnt state that the first show was essentially a repeat of last years show, so you basically paid to see a performance you already watched and paid for last year.3-We had purchased tickets for the 1st show for in-laws, unfortunately they werent able to make it to the 1st show, so they asked if we can ask to exchange the tickets for the 2nd show instead...the lady stated that was our problem and to try and sell our tickets to someone else even though the first show was already in session. And that essentially the in-laws would have to shell out ANOTHER $40 for the 2nd show even though they didnt get to use the 1st tickets. (quite a racket)4-Then she stated that the 2nd show was all reserved but how is that even possible when clearly you can purchase tickets at the DOOR when you arrive at the performance.

Locust Performing Arts center is a welcoming and inviting place to be. Everyone there, including the moms and dads, are like one big family. There is a place for everybody, kids can take recreational classes or learn to become an amazing professional dancer. The teachers are so nice and accommodating yet at the same time challenge you to become the very best you can be. Im a student and LPAC and it has change my life in so many ways. I have learned so many life lessons that dont just relate to dance but also to my life. Jimmy Locust, the owner and artistic director, always believes school comes before dance and school is very important which is very crucial for me and many other people at LPAC. Also LPAC takes great pride in how many boys dance there. LPAC is a second home to me and will always be.
