Great place to take your dog out for a walk! It is also a good place to take kids! Very minimal elevation gain and very pretty.

Got a little lost on the way out. So much area to be explored, watch out for the horse pies, theres plenty.

Nice natural area. People ride horses here. There are a lot of trails, but no directional signage. You walk thru tall cattails and come out to the water view. We saw ducks and other waterfowl. There is a port a potty near the entrance. Be sure to bring a hat, its very sunny. Note that there are no benches.

Nice little spot for an easy walk with the family. Bikes and horses are also allowed, but it is really too small for either. Lots of pretty waterfowl, though.

Just be aware the trail that supposedly goes all the way around the lake, does not! Turned into a very long hike when we discovered that. Other than that a very nice area.

Fantastic hiking area for kids. A wetland preserve, so sighting of aves wildlife is common. Well-trodden paths make for easy navigation, along with the nearby lake as a centerpoint.

Decent trails but this really should be reserved for the horse lovers. Horse poop EVERYWHERE! Trails are also in rough shape. Beautiful area with lots of birds.

Salvin Conservation area has a lot of good walking trails around a central lake. Its good for nude and barefoot walking much of the time. My only complaint is that the trail is not maintained on the north end of the lake so you cant go all the way around. Salvin is barefoot friendly.

Nice quiet area with a lot of trails for easy hiking or horseback riding. My dogs love it here. No garbage cans so you need to pack out your dogs waste. (There is a porta-potty at the parking area for the humans.) Wear waterproof footwear during the wet season, many of the trails can flood in places.

Peaceful, quiet, close to town, but far away. I sit and watch the animals in the water, and read, and let the world go by. A beautiful place to get away for a little while, and drift into daydreaming.

This place is amazing! Good for walking and seeing whats going on with nature. Good breath of fresh air. Gravel roads to get here so you can hear others coming and going. Peaceful tranquil a good time.

Was there on 1 April and it was pretty muddy. Youll be fine if you wear boots. My 9 y/o and I were fine in tennies even though we got a bit wet. Even though the park is nothing fancy and the trail on the far side of the lake appears to be closed, its pretty isolated and quiet so you can hear nature happening if you try.

Great place for walking. We did not get into any area of hard walking. The lake was beautiful with plenty of fowl. Because of the season we came out with 15 ticks between 5 people and one small dog. Just be aware to check yourself before you get in the car.

Beautiful park will large ponds. Can be buggy and boggy so be selective about when you visit. The rangers are strict about dogs because it is a bird conservation. Large lot good for pulling a horse trailer into.

My first experience was of an ID10T dog owner who thought Spokane County was nice enough to build a great open space for his dog to roam. Maybe Ill get to see some wildlife on a future visit unless the place is really a dog conservation area.

This is a lovely county park. Can be wet in spring and hot in summer but the trails are nice, the lake usually has a lot of wildlife. Ticks can be a problem on the northwest side of the lake especially in summer when the brush is tall and you have to bushwhack.

Great place for a hike, beautiful area, level hiking throughout hike, guessing 5 miles round trip, will have to cross some barb wire onto private land as part of the trail is flooded towards the end and watch out for horse poop...everywhere...Also Google maps is wrong; take a right onto keeney road from Washington rd and the trail head is directly on your left, Google maps puts you on private property
