Another gem. Friendly staff, and a lot of displays. Time was short for me, but I would say you need two hours to look around and take everything in.All of the staff here have a real passion for history, especially Show Lows, and the surrounding area

Its amazing. It doesnt look like much from the outside but trust me once you step inside its a whole different story. Even if you just go in to see the trains and nothing else the trip will be totally worth it. The guys who run the trains are actually the same exact guys who built the citys and there is an extremely crazy amount of detail throughout the entire scene. Plus since they built it they are super passionate about it and will explain every little detail to you and they modeled every single detail after all real life citys in this area and exact things that happened in those citys mostly from the 1940s I think he said and all thanks to the people who brought in their own personal photographs that they had taken all those years ago. Im not even from Show Low heck Im not even from Arizona and I pretty much have been telling everyone and anyone that its by far one of the most interesting places Ive ever been to.

We arrived a half-hour before closing time.(note to all readers: plan for at least an hour for a tour)I was impressed with the museum set up. There are many pamphlets at the front desk. I grew up a quarter mile from the museum which was the police station and courthouse at that time. The current courthouse is in the old elementary school. If you want something fun plan a little more time for a childrens activity.

I have visited several times but they are always adding new exhibits. It is small but very informative. Learn something new each time. Great model railroad that is wonderful for children and rail fans.

What a surprise! The museum has room after room of Show Low history, stories about Mohammed Ali training here. John Wayne participating in our parades, original settlers, dont think you can go thru this museum in an hour, it is huge! One of the best Historical Museums Ive ever been too..
