This place is interesting. The lake isnt very big, but big enough for boating. The water is pretty muddy (good for fishing), but the camp ground are very well organized. Its like a five star camping site. There is also a shower room which is super clean. The tent camp site are right on the edge of the cliff which has awesome views.

Part of the Apache-Sitgreaves. Showers and rest rooms are available. Great camp site with trailers or tent. Offer complete hook up for trailers (water and electric) with 40/30/20Amp (site dependent). Has an easy 3mile hike (back and forth). Pet friendly site. Bring your canopy, some site dont have tree shade. Some trailer site are close to one another, something to consider when booking. Cool on summers, cooler in fall.

Ive never been to Fool Hollow Lake before. My in-laws moved to the Show Low area. Im able to visit the area more often. When I travel, I like to visit places Ive never been. Thats how I ended up at the lake. Its really pretty. The area I was at the water was shallow and stagnant. That was ok because I didnt get into the water. Farther down, you could tell the water flow was better and deeper. There was people on paddle boards and kayaks. I could hear them laughing and having a good time. It also looks like theres a trail that goes around the lake. It looks well maintained for biking, running, and walking. Theres also benches scattered around the shoreline for people to rest and take in the scenery. Be advised, the ramadas are closed because of Covid. Bathrooms are located near the parking lot. It cost 10 dollars to enter the park, which was well worth the price. I was very impressed. Id definitely go back.

Fool Hollow Lake was a nice outing, close to Show Low. The facilities are nice. There are several ramada areas that look nice but are closed off right now (end of August 2020). There are bathrooms and some drinking fountains. There is a nice walking path around the lake area and you can find areas to fish along the lake. We didnt find a lot of shade right on the lake but on the outer side of the path around the lake, there are a lot of tall pine trees. We saw some kayakers and boaters. Nice spot for fishing.

It is beautiful up here! The hosts do a great job of keeping it clean, the quiet hours are perfect and you have plenty of space between you and the next campsite. We love coming up here as the lake is within walking distance, the weather is nice and we are away from the hustle and bustle of everything. Definitely worth the trip but keep in mind they book out a year in advance!

Perfect place for a day visit or camping. They have both canoe rentals and bike rentals. I was there on Labor Day weekend and it was dead and so great to have the lake all to ourselves. The squirrels were out in the evening hanging out on the rocks. So beautiful.

Spent 4 nights/5 days in Cinnamon Teal campground. Loved the hiking and kayaking in the area, plus exploring Show Low. Many campsites are shared... a bit close for our liking. Fortunately, COVID restrictions meant they didnt schedule anyone into our neighboring site, so we essentially got two sites for the price of one. Sites are quite level and all driving/parking areas are cement with table and utilities. Many (including ours) have a great view of the lake below.ALERT - The downside to this park is wildly fluctuating voltage! We connected to 30 amps but the voltage ranged between 118 and 104, which our onboard surge protector didnt like. Even running just one AC unit at a time was impossible during the peak-demand afternoons. We just opened windows, ran fans, and were glad we had protection for our appliances. (Note - generators are not allowed to be operated at any time, although we did hear one the morning we pulled out.)

What an awesome campground, very clean and well kept. Perhaps the best feature is the camp hosts and the park ambassadors. What awesome, kind and friendly people. Ms. Charlie and Greg, John and his lovely wife are top notch people. On top of all of that the restrooms are super clean. I just cant say enough about this place. Come and visit, you wont be disappointed.

Visiting on a Monday was perfect. Few people in the area, unlike on the weekends. Considering the number of people using this park, it is very clean. The walk around most of the lake is very easy and quite enjoyable. The 5 ramadas are well built and very suitable for family gatherings. A must visit place when in the area!

The lake is quite Astonishing and u may catch a sight of Bald Eagles, Ospreys, an assortment of Harriers, Ducks, Geese and other high soaring species! There are also many land animals and to my suprise I seen a Badger! I didnt even know Badgers are in Arizona but low and behold!!!Theres also kayaks and motor boats for my aquatic loving individuals. The little shows and presentations they have on the weekends for kids are awesome. Best part for us is that its not too far from town so in case of an emergency or you forget to bring something it wont take you very long to go get what you need. Cant wait to be back next year!

We got snowed in over January and spent a day waiting for the snow to melt so we could drive out of there. The facility was great, although I had what I believe to be the coldest shower of my life, but then again, it was January... staff was helpful and worked hard to get all the snow cleared over the day. We spent the day cooking and making snowmen and taking in the fresh air. We saw folks cross country skiing and that would have been an awesome way to spend the afternoon. Would love to see this place without snow. Good spot to spend the night.

There is a nice walking trail around 1.5-2.0 mi) that runs around a great deal of the lake. There are fishing ramps and swimming is permissible though we didnt see anyone in the water. Nothing could get better than this. We stayed at Fool Hollow camping site last weekend and we were lucky to witness the very first snow showers in Arizona for 2018. When we woke up in morning in our tents, we see snow all over and it was still snowing. My daughter screamed in joy.. Snow!! papa. That was amazing. The camping facilities are great, restrooms are super clean, overall area is lit better than normally I have seen, there are clean pathways to walk around all across in camp ground. The host provides ice and firewood if you want to buy. There is a nice lake by the side to enjoy water or fishing though we were more busy with snowand cooking. Overall nice camping experience.

The Lake is beautiful and the RV/campground is nice. The sites are large and groomed. However some are 2 in 1 sites. This is great for friends but when two strangers are parked on top of one another it feels cramped. We were lucky and had a nice young family next to us. But, I can imagine this would not always be the case. I felt we inadvertently were slightly ruining each others experience. The website is clear and the dual sites are marked so pay attention when reserving your site. The campground was full when we reserved our site and so we chanced it. No regrets.I really enjoyed the path around the lake and viewing the wildlife. Be out at sunrise and watch nature do her thing. There are many types of birds and inquisitive squirrels every where. We are looking to go back in the Spring.

As I was visiting the area I asked around and everyone recommended Fool Hollow Lake. I drove out to it and it was kind of hard to see the lake from the parking area due to all the trees, and that is a good thing. Found lots of good parking and it was clustered around nice covered areas with lots of tables, grills and serving area for parties and group events. Then I found the walking, biking, jogging paths...these are very nice and well marked. The I could spot the floating fishing piers. The fishing spots were great and gave a good view of the lake. I also found a fish cleaning area, very nice touch. I had a great time at this lake, was a nice way to spend my day.

Where do I begin? We hated the drive in!!! Those cracks on whole drive in can damage something! Geesh, put in speed bumps instead! We had 6 spots reserved and 12 people last week all week ( Aug 11-18). The hosts were wonderful and the places were clean as were the bathrooms. Saw skunks that werent afraid at most our camp spots almost every night. Lots of ants and few tarantulas. Also, bobcat down by water during day. We enjoyed our stay even with showers every day. We might be back if we are that way. We brought our razor and kayak, and family had bikes and kayaks. Wish there was swimming area for people though. Lots to do and plenty of areas to walk and such. I do recommend this place.

Best $40 for 1 hr on the double kayak (although we didnt do the full hr due to the rain) make sure you take some lawn chairs, not many places to sit. They have bathrooms and a small snack trailer (chips, some fishing stuff, kites, drinks- no alcohol). Our group was from 14 months-80 yrs old and our pup and we all had a great time! I planned a trip to this lake to escape the heat of the valley of the sun. It seems to be a theme nowadays for me to do that. LoL. It was a 3 1/2 hour drive to get out here from Surprise. The drive up was uneventful because the roads are well maintained and do not have too many curves.I liked the lake. They offered a military discount which got me in at half price. Woohoo. The roads in the park are mostly in good condition. If I was camping this would be a great place to stay. I elected to rent a canoe from the base and bring it up north. It worked out well. My oldest and I paddled around most of the lake. It is a large lake when you start paddling. We checked out the dam and few other spots. All in all this is a very nice recreation area.

If you need bait just wait for dark and hand catch crawdads with a flashlight at the shallows. Beautiful place by far.
