I’ve been trying to contact the Y for 10 days about using Y bucks. They ignored my first email. Replied to my follow up. When I emailed back 20 mins later, they didn’t respond. I have been a Y member since moving to the area and have never had an issue until now.

Review of Kids Corner: Just wanted to say how amazing the caregivers at Kids Corner are. They get 5 stars. Today my 3.5 year old said this to me as we were leaving the Y, Mommy, I wish we could live at the YMCA. No joke. She loves it there, despite being shy and having a lot of kids around. My 10 mn old has been going there since about 4 months, and they are always so excited to see her when I drop her off. In general, I like the whole YMCA facilities, but thought this review might help some of the parents out there.

We had our daughters 2nd birthday party here and it was a total hit!!! It was absolutely awesome! The staff was so friendly and helpful. The accommodations were great. The party started in the kids gym with plenty of play equipment and ended in the party room for cake. They setup our decorations for us and it was easy to be ready to greet guests. I also loved the renovations they have done on the building very different from when I was a kid much nicer!

Just wanted to thank all the staff at Louisa Boren summer camp this year. They just do such a good job and its not an easy job.Erica is just so good at her job, a special thanks to her for organizing so many things to do, and having it always run smoothly.

Nice setup. Really like that theyre open on Sundays. Not keen on them holding my card upon entering. I dont use a locker so often walk out without collecting my gym membership card.

Have everything you could want in activities and exercise equipment. Close to bus lines, but harder to find parking if you have a car. My lock picked 3 times in mens locker room. Credit card stolen and used. Scum frequent this location.

Friendly, helpful staff, well lit facility, good number of workout machines for a gym of its size, other activities plentiful. Physical layout is maze-like, and confusing for new members, as it takes more than a few weeks to get the lay-of-the-land, BUT, staff and members are helpful in navigating the different areas. There was a prominent complaint about the lack of parking. Sure, but its NOT the YMCAs fault. Rezoning of surrounding property has gentrified the neighborhood, and taken away available parking, as local condo/apartment residences park their extra vehicles in the available street parking, normally used by YMCA members.AND, the city in their ultimate wisdom, will continue to delete additional parking as they drive more to use public transportation. Without balance for club members, and shoppers of the local businesses. But I digress...The West Seattle YMCA continues to be a great physical-activity facility that serves their neighborhood, and surrounding communities.

The remodel is beautiful! The group fitness instructors are amazing (skilled and friendly). My family also loves the family bathrooms right by the pool as well as the handicap accessibility! Excited to take a food/cooking demo soon too.

I love this place! The gym has great equipment. The classes are very good. Zumba, freestyle aerobics, Oumba, water aerobics and strength conditioning are what I have taken so far and I love them all. I also paid an extra fee for swimming classes and they are also great. The pool is Olympic size, the jacuzzi is very nice and there is also a sauna and a steam room.

TL;DR: Not a family-friendly place, especially if you are a single, working parent.Ive been a member of this Y for 2 years and I really, really wanted to make it work. I became a member while pregnant with my first child and really looked forward to the childcare and swim lessons as she grew, but this is not a family-friendly place and I do not recommend to anyone with children.1) Family swim is very limited. Its so limited that they have to control the number of people who go in by using bracelets. You have a toddler who really, really doesnt want to wear a paper bracelet, sorry no pool for you. They also enforce rules at the expense of swimming and to no benefit to anyone. For example, my daughter is learning how to get in and out of the pool. While learning, I am very careful that she never blocks the stairs or prevents anyone from getting in or out. However, we were not able to use the stairs in case someone wanted to use it. Awesome - so now you dont want a toddler to be able to enter and exit pool.2) The childcare is awful. Ive never been able to use it without my child getting disconsolately upset and they ask me to come get her (which Im glad they do, but this is a child who goes to daycare everyday, has babysitters, etc and has never had an issue beyond the first few minutes as I leave.) After multiple bad experiences, I stopped using the childcare.3) Swim lessons: They dont offer many times for working parents and they fill up almost immediately. After not getting into the lessons for a very long time, I finally was able to snag a spot in time. Unfortunately, the first day I had a work commitment so I contacted them to see if I could attend a different time so that she wouldnt miss the first one. First they were closed the whole week before (an entire week randomly in September?), so I had to call them day of. I had pre-checked that their was space available at the time and had rearranged my schedule at work. I called first in the morning and left a message: no response. I called back two more times and finally just had the person at the front desk hunt down Melanie (I think her name is), the head of the swim lessons. She had been in all day just not deigning to respond to phone calls. She said that this one time, shed make an exception but was very rude about it. Meanwhile, after waiting on the phone for nearly 20 minutes, it was now too late to get my daughter from daycare and make it to the swim lesson. The distillation of the philosophy of this Y is creating and enforcing rules at the expense of the customers, even when it accomplishes absolutely nothing. If you have kids, do not waste your money on this Y.

Nice, updated building with friendly staff, but they went reeeeal cheap with equipment. No leg press, no T-bar, clunky round plates, only thick grip bars, dumbbells only go up to 80, etc. This place will get you by in a pinch, but if serious about your lifting I would look elsewhere. Also, I realize the YMCA is family friendly and I fully support that, but oftentimes children are running around yelling and screaming unsupervised. This can be particularly awkward in the shower and locker room areas.

Used to have nice attentive staff, now its like going into a hipster click. You get ignored, given white towels with brown stains, and wade in filth in the locker room. The ladies restroom in the shower area has had brown stains in it for many months. There is always visible dirt in the shower. They have antsin the locker rooms. NEVER go in without shower shoes. One week I went in to the hot tub and there was a bandaid stuck on the wall. The next day it was still there. The y used to be great, but they have sacrificed the wrong things in their budget.

Staff is very nice. This location is older, congested, poor parking due to small space. With dues being $65 per month wish the equipment, locker room, and cleanliness would improve. Get a feeling non - revenue guests % is pretty high compared to other locations. Check out Bellevue YMCA for a contrast, this is what is needed in West Seattle. Agree with Google reviewer comments as well.

Just renovated not the best place for muscle heads but that is not what it was designed for. Good equipment, great renovation, friendly staff. The pool is smaller compared to other YMCAs and does not have a dedicated childrens swiming pool like the newer YMCAs. But! It is still a nice modern place with coffeehouse and resturants near by. Inviting place for all.
