Great experience on December 15, 2019.“Shout Sister Shout,” was an outstanding production featuring Carrie Compere & Carolyn Dennis-Dylan in featured roles. Theatre is an excellent space. Acoustics are very good. Seating in this conventional theatre is very tight, with little space for proper egress. Parking across the street. Special Needs parking available which was used. Payment for Special Needs is by pay machine. Make certain to place parking receipt at car windshield.Stage Door accessible. Stage is fantastic.Enjoy!

I have been a season ticket holder the past few years at the Rep. While my biggest complaint with all the big theatre houses in Seattle is that they ALL have white male artistic directors, I do feel the Rep has worked hard the last few years to diversify the plays they have showed. My absolute favorite was Lauren Yees the Great Leap. And all the plays feature amazing Seattle talent. I also want to give a huge shout out to the Rep for changing some of their bathrooms to gender neutral and displaying gay and trans pride flags next to statements of their commitment to being a safe place for all. Now please add more queer plays to the repertoire and add even more diversity to the directing teams!

Lovely, intimate theater. My husband and I bought the last two nosebleed seats for the last performance of In the Heights, and did not feel that we missed out on anything at all for being in the back row of the top balcony. Excellent cast and set work. I was stunned when my two seat-mates, who have been season ticketholders since 1982, left at intermission! They sure missed out.

A first visit to this huge theater, it’s very wide but even in the rear of the dress circle the view is good, if a little distant. Therefore if that is where your seats are, take binoculars (or you can hire them for $10 at the theater). The entrance foyer is amazing, well worth time just looking at the statutes and paneling, it’s a history lesson in itself.

In general this theater is committed to its mission of telling stories that represent people from diverse backgrounds and their talented casts are also reflective of this mission. Its awesome.

Lovely theater, great sight lines, excellent acoustics with or without cast amplification - not a bad seat in the house! Uncovered parking right across the street for $15 for the evening (with tax its closer to $20), covered parking in the Mercer Garage a block an a half east. Plenty of good places for a before show dinner within easy walking distance, and some late night venues for an after show drink if thats your preference.

Excellent place to see good theater, with interesting plays, outstanding local and national cast members, excellent directions and sets. We saw Sam Shepards dramatic comedy True West that was a tour de force by the cast, set designers, director and stage crew. Very entertaining, and it wasnt even the best play we have seen this year. We get season tickets every year and it is a delight to attend their wide variety of high quality productions.

The building itself is pretty amazing. Very ornate and very 1930s. The building also has a great history. It was the venue for the oscars back in the day. Its worth going just to see the building. Its easy to get Uber to or from downtown and there are cabs lined up after the show. Its also easy to use the Red Line Metro train. The Hollywood and Vine station is right across the street.

One of the best places in town to see plays. Perfect size - not too large. Not too small. Easy parking across the street and not horribly expensive. Maybe $10? Plenty of food options nearby at all price levels. Huge park abutting the Rep. Plenty of outdoor activity with family and nightlife. Excellent theater. If this helped or you like this review, please give it a thumbs up. Thanks

As You Like It, adaption by the Seattle Rep Theater, was an absolutely incredible, fun and Standing Ovation deserved performance. Instead of a sword fight scene, they did a Lucha Libre. Throughout the performance, they had different cultures for different scenes/story telling. You wouldnt think that it would work if you hear about it. But when you see it put all together, it really was an incredible performance. Every single moment of it was beautiful, fun and ....words really cant describe how great the performance was. I am so happy I got to see it.

The staging, the lighting, the audio, just every way this place was set up was wow. Ill never forget my experince here! (Of course, this experience was based on the dance floor. I dont know what its like to sit up on the balcony, but Im sure it would have been amazing as well.)

Hershey Felder never fails to deliver. I again came away having learned about the life and times of a composer from his own point of view with his works being masterfully performed. Felder also is adept at audience participation, keeping it fresh. Felder and his company obviously thoroughly research, and he really gets into character.

I have never been. It was wonderful. Easy to find bus lets u off on 1st Ave and Mercer. Two blocks east on left. A live performance with these colorful and wonderful actors. Like a living story book come to life. Wonderful scenic sets and costumes. Longer than I knew glad for intermission. Be aware very tight seating will need aisle seat and additional seat for service animals. I had two seats luckily. Had to back him in and than down. Was very good clapping at end scared him but he learns new stuff quick. Gets very stuffy last hour of show and can set off allergies/coughing. I heard a few others coughing also. Took me more than 5 to 10 minutes to stop my coughing. Leaving theatre so as to not disturb others by coughing can cause u difficulty getting back in. Prior to intermission a few people came in and out my left exit ramp more than 3 times during show. They were very quiet and considerate about it. When I attempted to re enter usher stopped me on ramp would not let me reenter and said too disruptive due to light wanted me to go to left entrance and climb over 12 or more people. I could have sat there in the theatre and coughed for 5 or 10 minutes. I told my service dog to stay. Too disruptive to get him out and back in again and told her I needed to get back to him. I guess the 3 or 4 prior entrances and exits by other patrons had special status. I said unable to do that was disabled and she had to have a senior staff person come resolve the issue. He took me back in. Other than the usher problem it was a wonderful experience and I loved the show, the story line, the costumes and the very evocative way that they presented and acted out the meanings and emotions within the story. I would like very much to come again. However, I will be bringing cough drops etc if I come again. Thanks for the great treat I loved it.

Ive always enjoyed the Seattle Repertory Theater. The cast and crew never phone in performances, whether it is a Friday opening night or a Sunday matinee. The drink selection, usually themed to the show, can be a little too eclectic for my tastes, but the ability to preorder and have your drink waiting is very nice. The Sherlock Holmes plays done here are instant classics of character study and minimalist set design. If you dont love live theater try a comedy and see if your interest piques.
