Columbia City Theater is a quality spot to see a show. Its not too far off from the Light Rail, theres a fun small brewery nearby, and they have their own bar.The stage is raised to a great level that allows you to see from most areas in the theater, and its got two tiers for standing room. People working the show have always been super nice letting people in and as people are exiting.I feel like this is a spot that typically has artists that are quality music, but not super popular, so you get a pretty intimate show that has plenty of room for not feeling like a sardine during a show.On the downside, if its an all ages show, you have to get your drinks from the bar thats not in view of the stage, but you can still kind of hear the music.

Awesome little venue and bar. Located near great restaurants to eat at before a show. Bar up front is nice, but the theater for shows is great. Has a small bar in the theater, and offers raised platform, or a lower level to get up close. There are a couple of benches for sitting, bit its all standing. We arrived about an hour early and were able to secure spots right at the front of the stage. Also a bathroom right off to the right, which is nice. Super easy to go and get a drink and come back, and your spot will still be there.

Went for a live show on a Friday night. Smaller venue thats separated into 2 parts; bar and lounge up front and then a door which leads to a performance area and stage in the back. Theres also a smaller bar in the back, too. Mixed crowd of all kinds of people: young/old, outgoing/conservative who were all there to enjoy the music and have a good time. Street parking available and lots of other bars/restaurants within walking distance as well. Thanks for the awesome night Columbia City Theater!

What a cool little venue, sitting inside the back of a whiskey bar - which is already a win win. Prices are pretty good, and the vibes are always chill. They even have a little bar inside of the venue, its almost like a speakeasy. Would definitely recommend going to see a show here if you get a chance!

Columbia City Theater had quickly became one of my all time favorite concert venues in Seattle. Bar with good prices attached, nice café around the corner, Pag Pizza across the street, reasonable parking, and wonderful security staff. I saw k.flay there, and while she is a proven performer the venue undeniably made it a special performance with a cozy cap of 300 people; the lighting was nearly as stunning as the performance.Best of all, only 30 minutes to get back to Tacoma. I will definitely be seeking more performances at the Columbia City Theater. What a beautiful part of the city.

The first time I came here, I watched Star Trek (2009). The second time I watched The Lego Movie. I didnt pay much attention to the building itself the first time. The second visit, I wandered around as I had more time to waste, and its a rather pleasant (in a historic kind of way). The staff is friendly and the small details, such as the squeaky stairs and ancient bathrooms make this little place a must when in the area.Im sure people get it on during lightly attended screenings.

Its pretty good, for what it is: a bar with a *tiny* space for live acts. For the show I saw there, (M. Gira solo acoustic), there were fold out chairs for a select few, but the rest had to stand on a slightly raised platform with a tiny bar. Im old and creaky, and my days of enjoying standing up for an entire set list are fading fast.

Wonderful venue! Crisp energy, good platform, conducive to all ages events and a decent/large crowd. Full bar being somewhat separate from the venue is a nice touch for sure. Overall, its a lovely place with friendly staff and security, and Ive nothing but positive feedback for this particular venue other than this brief encouragement to better maintain/regulate those teeny tiny bathrooms. Maybe make them a bit more conducive to use without obstructing the flow of human traffic towards the end of the staircase, or add more stalls in hopes of forming less lines to use the restroom. The end! Much love, hope more shows get thrown here :)

Loved the space; it’s small but inviting. I love that there’s a bar in the theater part so you don’t have to leave the show and come back. The bartender was very friendly. However, there was a band playing in the front (bar?) area of the venue and it was very audible and distracting during the show in the theater, especially whenever anyone opened the door. That was kind of a bummer; I wish they had better scheduling and/or soundproofing.

Came here to watch Public Service Broadcasting and the doors were pushed back over 2 hours due to sound issues. I did not mind the inconvenience but the crowd wasnt too pleased about it. Despite being yelled at, the staff still maintained a professional and respectable attitude. I was very impressed! Once the doors opened, I wasnt shocked to see that the venue was small. The inside bar was nice, though. Overall, the performance and venue was fun. Would of gave it four if not for the technical issues taking longer than expected. This is understandable since the band had lots of analog and digital instrument; a venue this small wasnt capable of diagnosing all the issues in time.
