Wow! Awesome museum! So much things to explore there, so huge slice of history and technology. I am, personally, was impressed by exhibition of different types of cables (photo included). My son (7yo) was blown away by using retro phone with caller. Weve got David as a guide through this place. He was super informative and nice. This place is truly unique: automatic machines, telephones, telegraphs and teletypes, switchboards, cables and of course incredible people! Go explore!

Super cool niche museum, a lot of fun to wander around and the tour guides really know what theyre talking about. Not recommended for families with children under ten, a lot of the displays are live and not contained, so they arent safe for a child that might run off. Otherwise, its really neat to poke around and discover the history of telecommunication!

Super cool museum with all sorts of old mechanical computers that used to be used to make telephone calls. The people at the museum are very friendly, and will give tours and demonstrations. Its really fun to watch the machines make physical connections between two phones!

A true gem for anyone geeky - completely volunteer run, donation supported, and full of very rare equipment, much of it still working.Youll talk with engineers who actually worked on these systems, and learn a lot of interesting things about older phone and TV.Absolutely must go if youre free on a Sunday afternoon.

This museum is a time travel machine : its amazing to see how much telecommunication technology changed in over a century. I think anyone can appreciate that and have a great time here, technically inclined or not. Kudos to the volunteers running it and special thanks to Peter for the very informative tour. An additional wing /space could be added to present the wireless side and show how much and fast that changed as well.

The Connections Museum is located in an old telephone communications building in Georgetown and showcases the history of the telephone from the Alexander Graham Bell days (late 1800s) until about 100 years later. There are rows and rows of old switchboards from various decades. Most of these are still working. And our tour guide -- who worked at this place for real back in the day -- was more than happy to demonstrate each. In addition, there are scores of old telephones, teletype machines, transmitters, cables, and a washing machine (dont ask). This is definitely a cool place to spend a couple of hours, see some fabulous olde gadgets, and learn a bit about how the simple act of placing a phone call evolved over time,

Great place to nerd out. Whats amazing is all this old equipment isnt just sitting behind glass -- much of it still works. A dedicated team of volunteers breathes life into this gear so you can see it work, and even operate some of it yourself. Highly recommend.

This place is incredible! I really didnt know what to expect when I planned to visit with my son. Sure, the website offers a virtual tour but it doesnt even begin do this museum justice. There is so much telecom equipment here that it can be quite overwhelming. But, luckily, the volunteers that work there are such great guides! They are so friendly, passionate, and knowledgeable and make the entire visit a phenomenal experience! Each and every one of them really love what they do and it truly shows in how they want you to really be interested in the hardware that is on display. We spent just over 2 hours visiting and had a great time! I highly recommend this place! And be generous with your donations as they rely on these to purchase and maintain the equipment.

This was my favorite place in a weekend in Seattle. Got to see working switchboard, step-by-step switch, panel switch, crossbar switch, & ESS. I also liked the outside plant on another floor. Best part was really clear explanation by volunteer who gave great background for each development. Wonderful that a telco actually supports this marvelous museum.

Really interesting collection. Since we were a group of engineers or guide, a former switch tech, gave us a in depth 3 hour tour of how everything about the awesome working 50s switches works. He was extremely knowledgeable and answered all our questions. If your into this kind of thing I highly recommend this.
