This place is great such beautiful art, great entertainment and environment. Bar service was fast and it wasnt too crowded on a friday but it was still very lively. Basically yoy should go here.

Great vibe and highly supportive of the artist community. Really stands out on Saturday night on a street packed with bros, woo girls, and lame clubs. Consider the hill dead once this place disappears.

Follow me into the cavern, the documentarian and the historian sit down for a good drink and a good chat and then suddenly everything explodes in a flurry of birds. Beautiful, yes, but not conforming to the laws of physics. We don’t need them here though because we have the nocturnal sciences. Thank you doctor!

The best thing about this place is the bartender, hes great at multi tasking. the only reason it doesnt have more stars is because sometimes the crowd there is a bit too pretentious, as for the karaoke on the music that is on fire when the music is available

Amazing, cozy bar with an original look, No lines mostly and quick amazing service. Also with a feel of intimacy, great for dates.Bartenders are always sweet.The owner is amazing and always engaging with the public. No stiffness always greatness. Its also an art gallery where helps artist showcase themselves and support themselves as well, every month there is a new exposition. Worth checking it out!

Vermillion is a art gallery/venue that i went to for a house night. Loved the small grungey feel and the closeness. Great place with good drinks.

The art and shows are an extremely good draw worth checking out. theres not much seating for how busy it gets and easily becomes cramped and difficult to navigate. mixed drinks are made very strong with an average price for the area while the beer is a little bit pricy. all in all, not a bad place by any means.

Versatile and intimate. Can go here for a drink and play arcade games, or have a chat with a mate. and some nights they even have DJs. Its awesome

Hole in the wall bar with live shows and art gallery. Usually pretty empty. Projectors play music videos or art videos. Very cool place, seems underrated and fairly unknown. A few arcade games with change machine. Small bar area and not much seating. Great place to go to without plans.

Fantastic intimate venue to see a locally curated performance. The art gallery stays fresh in the front room month to month. The bartenders are friendly and prices are reasonable. Ive very much enjoyed playing/seeing shows here.

Great Sunday night jazz, nice atmosphere

Very down to earth space but with something interesting going on almost every night. Cool gallery space and awesome music procurements. One of the last places in Capital Hill that still has that old Seattle feeling.

Art gallery and bar. Not very polished, but friendly and comfortable. Frequently music acts play in the back.

Speaking to the layout and functionally of this place its just okay. There are a few pinball machines that barely work. One will eat your quarters. Its very cluttered in the bar, and dirty. There were several beer options on the shelf the bartender said they hadnt had for years. The floors are sticky and the place is dusty. Maybe its time for a little spring cleaning?

Great home grown and urban atmosphere. Really felt like a community studio which fosters the arts and welcomes like minded people. Nice choice of old video arcades, wonderful art on display, and great live hip hop music (on the night I was there). Very friendly, young, and cool crowd. Good place to chill with a few beers and talk to people. No booths which allows for free movement and keeps conversation flowing.

Awesome meatloaf. The sides were done perfectly too, mashed potatoes with a little bit of chunk but also creamy. Great consistency. Carrots were perfectly glazed. The service has always been great every time I have dinned there.

Much respect to D and the crew. Ive had several concerts here and the vibe has never been short of awesome.

Holding down the capitol hill vibe, a welcome refuge against entitled douchey tech offspring. Each exhibit holds a wonder, every conversation with patrons has been enlightening. And I adore the layout.

Vermillion is one of my favorite little hideaways on the Hill. The bar is tucked away in the back behind the art gallery in the front. Its a funky little space with exposed brick, high ceilings and a kick ass Rainier Beer sign.Near by spots can get to be a little much later in the evening with loud newly 21 year olds. The clientele here is usually later 20s - 30s. This is a great place to escape to on busy weekend night and not have to scream to talk to some one.Ive eaten here a few times and its always been good. The menu is written up daily and rotates often. It has fresh, seasonal stuff and is usually creative. Eat early though. Sometimes they run out of items.

One of the best places to go for art and new artists on Capitol Hill. One of the best bartenders I know of is Bryan Clayton who works there and the owner she is charm and nice person.

Strong pours and reasonable prices in the heart of Cap Hill arent always easy to find but the vermillion delivers. Happy hour well cocktails are only $4 while non happy hour is $6.

So I found this place walking by it one afternoon. Very unassuming appearance from the outside but the space is clean, functional, and a new go-to place for me. I love Ms. Pac-Man but the classic arcade game is hard to find. So many places no longer carry this game and those that do generally have ancient machines that are defunk one way or the other. Vermillions machine is perfect. Ive played many times, for just a quarter, and Ive never had an issue with the machine.Good music on in the background, generally quiet during the early evening, Im not sure how busy it gets at night. Bar in the back and a few outdoor tables on the sidewalk. Have never even had to talk to any of the staff here so dont know much other than their game lineup in the front.
