From blacksmithing to carpentry, and stone-carving to jewelry-making, glass-blowing, etc. The Pratt is a fascinating place where you can see all sorts of artworks coming to life. It is also mostly funded by well deserved donations from people who support the arts.My gf and I took a fantastic 4hr beginner blacksmithing class: the teacher was experienced and passionate about the subject, and the rest of the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had decent hands-on-time in a well supplied forge, making a couple of garden ornaments with a handful of friendly people.I highly recommend looking into this institution if you are interested in learning blacksmithing (and from what we saw stone-carving, glass-blowing and carpentry as well).

My girlfriend and I had a fantastic time here. Todd was the right blend of patient, friendly, and informative. It was so gratifying to work with our hands - I particularly appreciated that the class challenged us to learn new things but also set us up for success, so that we were able to take complete and take home our creations by the end of it. This experience was novel, creative, and therapeutic. Well definitely be back!

Great time! I went here for a friends birthday and what a fun night. There were about 10 of us and we had such a great time. The teacher Maureen was awesome and all the ladies that helped that worked there were great! I will definitely be back another time.

My Blick experience with Tim was fabulous. He is knowledgeable and generous with sharing his time and expertise. He helped me greatly, as his knowledge of the inventory is extensive.

Their so-called online youth summer art camp consists of three 30-minute meetings (9:30AM, 11:00AM, 2:30PM) with the instructor and the kid is left on her own with a couple of YouTube videos to watch for the remaining time. Camp contents depend heavily on YouTube video watching and the kids are allowed to leave their cameras off the entire time. Lack of instruction, virtually no supervision and no friendship building. I have complained about their problematic camp running structure and they have admitted that it is below standard. However, nothing changed. They said they will work on making improvements, but in the meanwhile, I would stay away from their camps and save myself and my kid 360dollars.

I love the feel and ambiance of this space. What is really important is the flexibility and access the school offers to the art studios at all hours of the week to practice and work on your projects. I took classes with both Todd and Didem and they are so amazing, patient and thoughtful in their approach to guide you as you work on enhancing your technique.

I paid over $300 for a class, but I only received about $10.00 worth of education. Our instructor, who is a married man, was clearly smitten with one of the beautiful young girls in our class and proceeded to flirt with her for the entire duration of the course and give her special attention. The other students were more advanced and had experience in the subject matter, but I was a newbie who had no idea what I was doing. I needed help and even when I asked questions, I usually received one-word answers and barely any help at all. What a waste of time and money! I will never come back here again.
