I was in town in both October and November of this year, and both times received auditions that needed to be self taped immediately and sent to casting directors in LA. So glad I discovered Verve through a quick google search. Its a top notch professional studio, and Amanda couldnt have been more accommodating with the scheduling. I’ve been studying at Verve Studios for years. All the acting coaches are very skilled in their own areas of expertise. This is a great place to grow and expand your skills. Amanda, the owner, really cares about nourishing the Arizona actor community and is very welcoming.

I have immense love and respect for Verve Studios, Amanda Melby, and all the fabulous teachers I’ve worked with so far. The first class I took was Whole Body Acting with Laura Winstin in June 2020, right in the middle of the pandemic. Strange timing you say? It actually turned out to be the best thing I could’ve done for myself. It was a blessing to have dedicated time set aside every week to focus on creativity, play, authenticity, artistic growth, and just being. Real vulnerability, compassion, and mutual encouragement easily developed between all of us in class. Verve has been impeccable about following all safety protocols as well as offering Zoom options, which translate surprisingly well! Presently, I’m taking Amanda’s in-person Core class and feel completely safe in the studio. While the world has slowed down and we aren’t able to do a lot of the things we used to, I honestly don’t feel like this time has been wasted, because Verve has provided a way to steadily work on what is really important to me. I am hard-pressed to think of a person who is more “on it” than Amanda- going the extra mile every time is her standard. She is extremely observant, honest, passionate, supportive, patient, and an expert at her craft. I can highly recommend all the other teachers I’ve had class with so far, including Laura Winstin, Julene Renee, and Diane Senffner. In addition to a wealth of solid technique, the studio also imparts current, firsthand knowledge of the acting industry, so that you can translate all the great skills you’re learning into real work in the field. I really can’t say enough good things about this place. It’s the real deal in my opinion!

Just completed the Whole Body Acting six week course offered by Verve Studios and taught by Laura Winstin. I would highly recommend this course to any actor whether beginning level or advanced. Not only are the exercises learned during the course extremely helpful for the voice and useful for relaxing the body to perform, but the positive learning environment helped me free up my actors instrument. Thanks!! Laura and Amanda. I plan on continuing my enrichment as an actor in future courses at Verve Studios. As an additional note, I have taken the Shakespeare Monologue course and The Core at Verve and give both of those courses HIGH Praise!

When I initially began acting classes, I found Verve Studios via Google. I took a chance with Voice Over I, then quickly signed up for Intro to Scene Study. Before long I was immersed in their vast array of classes and took TelePrompTer, Commercial, Movement, Dialects, Film, Voice Over II, and on-going weekly Scene Study.After ten months of classes (and dedication to the daily work) I was able to participate in Verves Showcase. A week later, I was signed with an agent.Amanda Melbys professionalism is shown again and again throughout her studio, in her classes, and in her choice of instructors. I am happy that my acting career began with Verve.

I recently took an acting class at Verve Studio with the owner Amanda Melby. What a wonderful experience! She definitely knows her craft and more importantly knows how to deliver and engage us as students. Her dedication and her passion for her work is palpable! It was my first experience at the studio and I definitely plan on taking more classes in the future.

Ok for elementary acting, mostly for children. Stay clear of Will Hightower, very pretentious.
