This part of the hike is a little more challenging than just going to Toms Thumb. The trail is much more technical when going down. The incline is tough, especially if you are doing the 10 mile loop coming from Windgate Pass. Make sure to have plenty of water and plan around when the sun is not at its peak when climbing it up.
