Incredible experience!!! Redesign is so golfer friendly and playable! Ryan McKay and his staff are the best in the valley. Attentive and fulfilling. My group had an absolute blast. Course is in Incredible shape from the overseed. I rate it an 11 out of 10. Thanks Phoenician!

Everything was top notch at the Phoenician Golf Club. Covered parking, nice pro shop, friendly people, nice practice facility, and the course was outstanding. Nice views but a little confusing on the back nine as far as where to go on a couple of holes. Then you have a lot of cross playing from parallel fairways. I will only play this course in the summer or with a super discount during peak season - its nice, but not that nice. Boulders and Quintero are both better courses for the about the same money.

Been a while since I played there and the course has been updated. Fun layout and some great views of the valley. Conditions are great and real sand in bunkers. Wouldnt know though as i am never in a bunker. (Full Pinocchio) Staff is great. Hope to get back there soon.

We played this course last week and it was pretty amazing for this time of year. We really dont have any complaints about the course itself or the staff. We did have an issue when our cart died on hole 11 and we messaged pro shop to bring us a new cart. After 20 minutes the cart girl showed up and we told her nobody has arrived. She went to pro shop and let them know. It took another 25 minutes for someone to bring us a cart. When the guy showed up with a cart he told us they have had problems with that cart and he went into pro shop and they had the message just sitting there. So its a little frustrating knowing it was not busy that day and the pro shop was not doing there job. I also emailed the pro shop and have not heard back from them on that either.. We completely cooled down and lost focus. . It took another few holes to warm up. Ultimately, I was playing very well and I was super excited to play here. We will come back and update this review as well as do a full video review on our youtube once we play this course again.

Enjoyed my time here. The course was in good shape even with the heat of summer. There are a few forced carries and OB is in play on a number of holes, so the course is no slouch. Overall the course was challenging but fair and we managed a little over a 4 hour pace in a foursome with only a little waiting on the group ahead.

Excellent golf course on the Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale. Prices are reasonable for this quality of course in Scottsdale. The back nine crosses the road and is built on the side of a hill near Camelback Mountain offering great views of the valley. Highly recommend playing here if staying on the resort or looking for a nice resort course on your next vacation.

Course is an average course, and not worth $100. It was in good condition, but it’s just isn’t anything special about it. I suggest playing from the tips if you want any length out of the course at all. Multiple par 4 holes that are under 400 yards in length. Number 10 tee is literally a mile away from the clubhouse, which is rarely the case in a well designed course. Don’t forget to stock up on drinks before you start and then again at the turn. There is only 1 cart girl and she is slow. Not much water available to refill water bottles on the course either. There should be water coolers by the tee boxes every 2-3 holes when it’s 105 degrees outside. Never saw any except next to the restrooms. The marshal doesn’t understand what his job is. He asked us to pick up the pace 3 times even though there was no group behind us. Our foursome finished the round in 4 hours and 6 minutes, so we were obviously not slow. I think next time I will take out of town guests somewhere else. The courses in North Scottsdale & Cave Creek areas are much better for a cheaper rate.

The Phoenician Golf Club was built in 1981 and reopened in the fall of 2018 after a massive redesign and renovation by Scottsdale-based architect Phil Smith. The new 18-hole layout replaces the original 27-hole routing. Every hole is new, featuring TifEagle grass greens and tees, fairways and rough that are 419 Bermuda grass.According to our friends, the price is very reasonable for this kind of caliber resort! I mean compare to Pebble Beach, Vegas, LA or Miami, this is a steal! I don’t play golf.. yet! But what I heard from our friends this trip.Green fees price rangesWeek days: $89 - $209Weekends: $89 - $209Tee times from $24 - Check pricesCourse policiesMetal spikes allowed: NoDress code: Collared shirt and bermuda shorts required. No denim. The golf shop has been expanded as well, pricy clothes and toys, but what do we expect right! The Club Car golf carts have been outfitted with the Shark Experience - a new golf technology with a high-definition touch screen and built-in speakers for playing music and watching live sports, news and entertainment, along with GPS yardage. My dog Nugget Bear and I enjoy the course a lot, by just on the golf cart or walking around. It’s a beautiful course. We stayed at the resort the whole week and we even had a team building by played here! My teammates did all the works!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Course is very average. Paying $240 in green fees for a well taken care of municipal course. Staff was not welcoming and made the experience less enjoyable. Go take a drive and play Quintero, Ak Chin, or Gray Hawk.

We stayed at the hotel which was fabulous. The golf Clubhouse service staff was not terribly friendly. With at said the staff in the course was amazing. The course itself was not what I expected to play. After a 12 million dollar renovation, you would think the fairways, greens and tee boxes would be perfect. They were not. Fairways in the back nine were bumpy and spotty. Some of the greens looked like a patchwork quilt.Great views of the valley but I expected better quality.

Hands down, very nice course. However, play was extremely slow and no marshal to speed things up. Even after we called in and complained about the slow group, it didnt improve. This review has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SERVICESThat being said... This place is horrible for deliveries... No clear signs for directions, if delivering here make sure youre in a box truck or day cab with pup trailer. Dock is crowded with hotel extras that cant be seen by guests . It is possible to dock a 53 with full sleeper but you will need the hotel to move some unsightly equipment.

Im a Phoenix resident and play golf courses all over the valley. The course is nice, and I wish I could rationalize playing there again, but I suggest playing nearly anywhere else. There is no way to justify paying $79 in the triple digit temperatures of Phoenix in the summer when you can play any of a number of equal or more highly rated and well-kept courses at half the price. What a shame that the residents who help keep the water bill paid when its too hot for visitors to come to town, who would also be the most likely to refer your golf course to visitors when its prime season, cant afford to play here in June through September. Do yourself a favor and use your golf dollars to play TWO rounds elsewhere- play The Raven ($42), Legacy Golf Resort ($39), Lookout Mountain ($29), Wigwam ($34), Rancho Manana ($32), Dove Valley Ranch ($35), McDowell Mountain ($37), etc, etc, etc. The Phoenician, you can elect to take offense at this review or take it as constructive criticism. The same pen that is used for this review could have just as easily be used for your betterment and promotion, but instead should have the opposite effect. If you should eventually make a change to reflect our mutual interest of value to each other, Ill be in a hurry to change my review to that effect. By the way, I splurged for summer and booked Kierland after my call to the Phoenician for $59.

I played the Desert and Canyon 9s. This is a very short course for a Par 70, only about 6300 yards or so from the tips. I played with two buddies and they paired us up with a resort guest. You drive in to the most beautiful scenery and they have covered parking near the bag drop. The range balls are included with your greens fee. The grass is very well maintained, the rough isnt too thick. The course has all types of challenges. The views are unbelievable all throughout the holes. Some tee boxes require you to do some walking up large steps. We each only paid $33 after booking on golf now. This was way cheaper than the seasonal rate because we were willing to play at noon during an early summer day.

We were told we’d be the first group off, then they let a twosome go off in front of us and then put a single with us. Ended up working out okay... just okay. Spent a lot of money for JUST OKAY.
