James and his staff are fantastic. All Canadians (like me) should play here. Ive tried other places but nowhere else has people remembered my name. And the lunch staff are always friendly and helpful. And the player assistant comes around with beers and rakes the traps after you !! That part is not true, but I always hope !!!! But what is true is their dedication to making the course fantastic. Play it !

Average golfer that had a good time at Legend Trail. Not a ton of altitude changes but beautiful desert scenery with mountains in the background. Bring a few extra balls so you dont have to deal with snakes if you hit it in the desert.

This place is awesome! Great course for the average golfer, lots of room for error and cool views. If you are a out of towner looking for a desert course, this is a great one to pick.

Course is fine and respectable. Ranger was unbelievably rude. We had 7 guys. Lead with a 3some that finished 3hr 40min and as a 4 some we finished in 4 hrs 8min. The group behind the foursome was an entire hole behind. At the turn he told us to skip to 11. We did not. We were on pace and he was rude as imaginable. Would not play here as service is 0 stars. Courtesy goes a long way.... completely lacking professionalism.

Beware- Legend Trail covid safety policy is apparently only for the employees. Masks are required in the restaurant and golf shop, they have plexiglass and extra tables to create a barrier & 6 ft of distance between the Cutomer and staff. All sound safety policies in the covid times. But then this happens and I’m baffled. I was playing with 2 friends that I trust and then at the last minute while we’re on the tee box the starter adds a fourth and tells him to join my cart. I expressed my concern over having a complete stranger sit right next to me for a round of golf with no masks during COVID. He said it’s the policy. I was also told they had available carts but we couldn’t use an extra one. I called the GM the next day and he was standing behind his policy. That’s definitely up to them but I completely disagree and say shame on you.

We have always played this course in the summer when rates are lower. We decided to play just before Christmas here and what a mistake! The greens were terrible! The worst part was when we asked about playback when we finished the first round at 2:00 we were told it would cost $50! The first round was only $72 because it was very slow. The twilight rate online was only $35. When we questioned the high cost we were told that this isnt Tempe or Chandler ! We will never play there again! We will go to Tempe or Chandler!

Nice course but the greens are slow.. so I would spend more time warming up on the the practice green then the driving range to to get the feel of the greens. The pace of play has been good very time I have golf there. Good bang for the money for sure. Great staff and awesome course.

We have played here a dozen times and keep giving their staff the benefit of the doubt. Absolutely the most unaccomodating and rude staff in the entire area. Its a mediocre course at best and the staff leaves much to be desired. The pro shop as well as the grill predominately need improvement!

This place is super nice and a friend of mine lives right next-door actually on the golf course. So I got a little experience when I was there and I have to say super nice place.Would’ve loved to run the course and enjoy a few holes of golf but we had a lot of business to take care of. Other than that, definitely great people who live there around the golf course and from what I’ve heard the staff and the ownership is top notch.Looking forward to playing some golf there next time I travel to the area and experiencing the rest of the place. Thanks a bunch and enjoy.

My wife and I played Legend Trail Golf Club and had an overall positive experience. As you drive up to the club house, you will find the normal club drop off area with some nice guys there to get your equipment out of your car and onto a golf cart while you park your car. The club house is a bit small consisting of the pro shop and a restaurant. The guys behind the desk were very helpful and welcoming and got us on our way very quickly. As we exited the pro shop, we found our cart parked just a few steps away adjacent to the putting green. They have an interesting set up for putting with about three different putting areas and another set up for just chipping and sand shots. Just past those areas is a small driving range stocked with balls. After warming up, we talked to the starter who directed us to the first tee box and got us on our way. The overall condition of the course is very good with nice fairways and roughs. The greens were a bit hard for my liking but very playable and rolled true. The front 9 played fairly easy with few surprises or difficult holes. The back 9 is a bit different and more challenging, especially if you have not played the course before. A bit of warning: if your tee shot can’t carry at least 135 to 150 yards, you will need to hit off the women’s tee box or you will be frustrated with a number of the holes. I’m an average golfer and had no problem with any of these holes, but if you have an issue with your driver, either don’t play this course or play the ball forward off the front tee box. The entire course has a lot of contour (especially the back 9) so be prepared for shots that will not be on level ground. A number of the back 9 holes also are heavily trapped, so it is imperative that you fly your shot on to the green. There are plenty of restroom opportunities out on the course so that shouldn’t be a problem for the enlarged prostate crowd. If you hit a half decent ball, you should not have a problem on the course. If not, expect to be searching around in a lot of cactus and brushy areas to find your ball. Hitting off the copper tees, distance is not an issue for the average golfer, but accuracy is. A GPS with a mapping function would be very useful if you want to play this course, because there are a lot of little surprises that you can’t see until you get right on top of them. I was a bit disappointed to discover that the carts don’t have a GPS, so we used our own iPhone based program that saved us a lot of strokes. We played on a Monday and the pace of play was comfortable at about 4 hours and 10 minutes for the round. Overall, I would recommend the course as it offers interesting challenges and plays well for average to better golfers.

I have golfed at Legend Trails for years. Today we were so rudely treated by the Pro Shop staff that I told them they lost a customer ... and they seemed like they really didn’t care. There are a lot golf courses in Arizona, so sorry to say this will never be on my list again. They should probably get customer service training from Quintero, Rancho, Torreón or maybe any golf course for that matter.

Legend Trail Golf Club: On the front nine youll quickly get acclimatised to a very pleasant, nicely undulating desert type course, although the housing often obscures your view of the mountain vistas that lie beyond. A very solid 4-star desert type course, even if the predominance of housing diminishes its naturalness to some extent.

Love the golf course with its forgiving fairways and undulating greens. A couple of quirky holes, but most of the course is challenging, and fairly long from the tips, to your game. Greens a little slow and some fairways a little wet, even in the summer. Had to play lift, clean and replace in a few fairways during the 115F days of July. Overall, a difficult course to play for a great price.

I cannot give this course even 3 stars. A friend of mine has a pass so I play it periodically and I am ultimately disappointed with both of the practice areas and the condition of the course. It always starts off good early in the season and they just do not have the ability to maintain the greens. The practice area is a joke with four or five targets and no short targets. The practice balls look like they have not been replaced in years The staff admitted the Wi-Fi is so slow it’s not worth even connecting to. I think it is run very cheaply Half the time they have you hitting off those silly mats. For the money you pay in the inconvenient location I would definitely look elsewhere..

This course is a must play in the Scottsdale Area. It is a short drive from town, but well worth it. The staff [pro shop, starters, etc.] were excellent, friendly and added to the quality of the round. The course has spectacular views (and intimidating tee shots). Be prepared to play target golf and dont let the 71.8 rating fool you, the black course makes for a difficult 6800 yards. The course was in immaculate shape though and despite the higher score, the round was incredible. We played before 8AM and the pace of play was quick. Play early! We will certainly be back...
