It might not be pretty from the outside but a gem on the insight. It appeared like a travel to a different country. We showed up without an reservation but was welcomed anyhow. The service has been amazing and was only topped by the amazing, delicious and authentic food and beverages. This place is a must be when beeing around

Came here for the first time with my coworkers the other night, and it was a pretty cool experience.Located in Japantown, 7 Bamboo Lounge is a laid back karaoke bar where you can have some drinks w/ your buddies and sing some songs in front of everyone. There is a little bar with a TV right when you come in. Lots of cool lighting, some tables, and a stage where you can sing your heart out. Unfortunately, I was a bit under the weather so I couldnt have any drinks, but I guess it was a good thing, because I was able to see everything with a clear mind. The people who were in attendance varied from college kids to older working adults. That just shows how this place appeals to a large mix of people. My friends sang a few songs, but it did take a while until their name got called. I was surprised by the sheer amount of people wanting to sing. There were def a handful who seemed as if they sang professionally and of course the casual karaoke singers as well. No one seemed to judge! I think if you sang a song that everyone knew then it got the club rocking.If youre tired of the club/bar scene and want to do something fun with friends, I highly recommend this place!

The crowd here is very friendly and supportive. It gets crowded very quickly (even though it doesnt open until 7pm), so I recommend that you get to the neighborhood (Japantown) by 6:30pm and grab a bite to eat. They have sake on tap! Great song selection!

My husband and I have been here 10+ times in the last few months for a reason. You won’t be disappointed here!

I used to like this place a lot! I’m a huge karaoke fan and this place is fun to go to only due to the regulars who are a blast to have a drink or two with. However, the bartenders there, particularly a bottle blonde hair one, has been a problem. A few things - she served her friends first before customers who were clearly in line and got to the bar before her friends. Second, I’ve heard of erroneous charges of ‘extra’ drinks have been charged to credit cards - this is a known fact by customers who go to this bar a lot. And lastly, some people who work here are just overall miserable people to deal with. I guess that’s the type of bartender/workers that the bar owners want in their establishment.

Me and 2 friends were visiting for the weekend. We wanted to go to a local karaoke bar to sing. When we get there we noticed it was very lively. We decided to put in a few songs to sing on stage. As we get to the dj, he was rude and did not try very hard to explain to us how to use their song selection method, which is through an app system. We noticed a lot of the locals who they seem to know very well put in songs after us, but their songs were put on before us. We waited so long to hear our songs that we just left. Word to the bar, if you want people from out of state to enjoy their time in SJ, try being friendly.

Nice welcoming atmosphere, great song selection. Really no security. There was a woman fending off a drunk guy with no help from management. Drinks are a bit pricey but better than other places. Overall pleasant experience there.

I think this place is alright. The bouncer dude is nice when I asked him about food. They dont serve food but you can bring some in...guessing with uber eats, etc. The karaoke is fun if you into that sort of thing. A lot of recognizable songs that other people were singing. They have TVs all around so you can follow along with whom ever is singing. I read the negative comments and see how mishaps can happen with people missing songs. But I thing people being drunk, going to the restroom, or going in & outside play a key factor in that. Girls are more social I think because of the karaoke... a few of them asked why I wasnt singing. Guys are friendly too. I had only one drink rum with coke it was okay but I had other bars make it better. This is the only reason I think of to give a 4 star.Anywho, people are actually friendly not just the workers. They got water on tap and asked the one the dudes sitting there with his friends if that was water. He said yeah, filled me up a water and handed it to me. Turns put that he worked there but was on his day off I guess.They have two unisex bathrooms, so no awkwardness in the bathroom you get at clubs and lounges.Parking is not too bad since restaurants close at 9.

Best Karaoke place in SJ, KJ is amazing, keeps things fun! He has all the so far available o line and has all the newer songs too with an awesome sound system! Everyone is supper supportive and we all clap for each other

Bug the DJ and they will buckle under pressure showing favoritism as an act of true karaoke cowardice unable to make anyone uncomfortable they make eye contact with. Get the true to life experience of being entirely overlooked for 3 rotations by simply submitting your name and waiting patiently. Thought that was just for your professional life? THINK AGAIN. This can be your reality. Get loaded on 7 dollar well drinks and choose your own adventure at 7 Bamboo. Bully the DJ or Feel bullied!! It’s all in your hands. Be the woo girl you always wished you were or the guy who always makes the same whooping sound every 37 seconds!

They had flys all over the bar it was gross, drink selection poor. The decor was nice. Karaoke was fun. The flys killed it for me tho

I havent been here in YEARS! The whole place looks really nice and updated with awesome lit tree decorations surrounding the stage. Im also very glad they installed new seating with tables, benches and stools. Everyones very friendly and the DJ was very accommodating. Its definitely a place I would come back to. The only downside is that there is only one bathroom, kept fairly clean. Other than that, it was pretty enjoyable to be there and just enjoy singing karaoke with friends.

Lively, fun and cozy karaoke bar. The laid back and friendly vibe offset the (mostly) standing room only space and made it feel pretty comfortable, so much so that I honestly lost track of time enjoying the performances in the midst of the packed crowd. I do recommend wearing shoes that you dont mind standing in for several hours, and it gets pretty busy (I was there on a Saturday night), so be prepared to wait an hour or longer for your song to come up depending on how early/late you get there.

Service is always prompt even when they have a full house. the service was very helpful and welcoming.

Fun time listening to Karaoke and Dancing to the music. Quite Enjoyable. There was a DJ MCing the singer list and playing tracks the last time I was there.

Wife had her clutch purse stolen here and the bartenders just laughed at her. Then we had a mysterious $84 charge on our card that night before we were able to cancel it. Obviously, someone stole it, went inside, and close out their tab with our card. The fact that no one cared to help, the fact that the bartenders laughed at my Wife instead of offering some sort of assistance, they did nothing. We realize it wasnt their responsibility but the fact that there was a charge and the way the bartenders laughed makes me suspicious it was an employee or someone they knew. Watch your belongings very closely at this place. Especially on the weekend nights or during karaoke.

Classic American kareoke bar. Tons of awful singing, and a couple good singers. Someone got my drink wrong, thats how much fun everyone was having.

Great little place, spent New years Eve here and had a blast. Seems like theres several regulars that make this place feel like youre part of a group of friends. The Karaoke that night was on point. A couple of creeps, but didnt really effect the experience. Prices are a little above average. The bar tender mixed up great drinks for my girlfriend and me.

This karaoke has constantly been entertaining. I love Rachel and Kelli, they are both my favorite bartenders. The staff always comes up with some interesting entertainment, change the singer, change the song genre, some with dancing. Overall, I have a great experience and would definitely come back.

Eff this place!! Placed my request and waited THREE hours and never got called up to sing it. I even “tipped” the man to go up next and nothing. Wasted my night waiting to karaoke, could’ve gone anywhere else. Spent so much at the bar too, definitely never will return.

Try to go on a Friday or Saturday! Im not a big fan of the drinks but I loooovee the open mic scene and vibe. The crowd can sometimes surprise you with their voice or performance. Most of them are very friendly and will sing to you! I say its a must try for kareoke lovers! But be sure to wait a while to get to your song because there is just that many singers.

Very casual place. The bartenders and other patrons are friendly. You can get in a lot of songs if you show up early. Karaoke starts 7. They do not sell food at 7 Bamboo and most restaurants in Japan town close by 9 . The bartenders do not mind if you bring in outside food and eat at the bar. The bar gets really busy on Friday and Saturday nights.

Fun place. I think the DJ does not follow correct order, but it takes generally 45 min between songs.

Awesome drink prices and always great music to jam to into the middle of the night! Great place to go to dance the night away ;) Two dance floors which is a huge plus if you want to move around. They have ATMs inside too!

Great place, there are a lot good music and singers great place to have a good time alone or with friends is like been with family, I would give it 5 stars only because they let people who sang already sing again almost immediately and they don’t let other people sing , I was there for about 3 hours until the end of the night and saw several people who already sang repeat their turn without others like me sing, I would suggest to have a system so all people can have a chance. I know is possible is just matter of investing in software.

My first time going to this bar was on a Thursday night. There was still quite a few people singing songs, which made the wait time over an hour, but, as with most karaoke bars, the time goes by quickly while listening to everyone else sing. One part that weirded me out was there was an In-N-Out intern promoting their burgers who came up to me and offered me a free cheeseburger. I wasnt sure if he was legitimately from the restaurant, or some random guy giving me a drugged burger, but I accepted and ate the burger anyways. Another thing that was strange about this bar was, immediately upon entering, one of the male bartenders came up from behind me and untucked my shirt, which was tucked into my pants. I understand they were going for a casual atmosphere, but I thought it was odd that they physically pulled my shirt out for me without saying anything first.

Cheap drinks and extensive song selection. Place is relatively clean but only one bathroom, and they pack the place above capacity, I wasnt physically able to enter at first and had to wait 10 min for the entrance to loosen up a bit. While it may not be the most judgement free environment to embarrass yourself singing in because your audience may be 70+ people, I will note there was no extensive heckling of bad performers going on.

Had fun with karaoke. Drinks were strong and in plastic cups versus glasses.

Love the bamboo lounge. The KJ has an app which allows the singer(s) to select the songs without a number. Theres always a friendly young crowd of fun people waiting to join in on the fun. Beer and good spirits no wine. Place could be larger. Open every day. 9pm-2am.

Face off Fridays is every 1st Friday of the month and its my favorite. DJ Rasta root has the most amazing mixes. I spend most of the night remarking to my bf how I WOULDVE NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT as if I DJ outside of my mind. Hip Hop, R&B, Reggae, Dance hall, anything that gets your body moving. It gets crowded fast though, so get there early and enjoy

It was a fun environment, my first time there, friendly bartenders. eventually felt comfortable enough to put in a song ,handed it to the karaoke person,made eye contact, said thank you....waited......waited.............waited...second to last song, I thought I was next...NO, it never happened. I was disappointed in the lack of integrity from the karoake guy,to simply take 1 single second to motion, that there was no more time for singers! I mean, reallllly... is that so much to ask?!?!?!!Due to his lack of professionalism,I doubt Ill ever go back and spend another dime. I mean I drove from another town to experience this karoake place,so highly recommended...You get a THUMBS DOWN down from me,mr karaoke man.

Hands down the best place in the bay for karaoke. If youre in on the weekend past 10 it can be a while before you get a song. Drinks are a little pricey, but the pours are heavy and the staff are friendly.

They got a huge song list and the host is usually pretty good at warming the crowds up. It gets packed, so if going a group be sure to arrive early if you want a table.
