When ‘The Stick’ was still here, saw a Giants and a Niners game...different days of course. The weather for football was warm and calm but not so for baseball - windy and cold. Classic Candlestick! The Dodgers were in town too and it was fun. I don’t live in the area anymore but do miss the place, probably because it had so much history: the Beatles last concert in the states; The Catch. Nostalgia is a strong tonic.

Nice peaceful area with plenty of picnic tables. Dont leave valuables in your car.

A small little park down bear Hunters Point. The facilities are minimal but well kept. The park has a beautiful shoreline with views across the water to Oakland and Alameda. Once a year, during the great herring spawn, you may even be graced by a shore full of fish people casting their throw nets to catch the great schooling fish. Highly recommend taking a visit to this sleepy park during a sunny day.

At this current time in my wonderfully blessed god given life this is an area i go to sleep at, in my car, its home until SF housing authority assist me with housing, the great staff on egbert st says hopefully early first quarter 2021 is when i may possibly be placed. Plz pray with/4 me. But yea ive been very familiar with this great city gem since the early 80s when me and then my grandmother lovie barnes would go for walks. And of course if youve ever watched old sf 49ers or giants games you may have seen snippets of the park but yea great park in my opinion.

This is off the beaten path, but still a good place for a great walk, across from the old CandleStick Park area.

Nice picnic area & walk around the bay with lots of squirrels to keep you company.

A bit run down around but there are a lot of bbq pits and work out stations at the park (currently cant use due to covid restriction).

I had a great walk down along the shore, so much so that overall the visit was great. However not so impressive was the BBQ area.

Nice place to go fishing and have picknick with family. If your planning to go, go there early for parking space. Usually busy on the weekends.

Awesome views of the bay. BBQ pits, picnic tables and campsites. What more cab you ask for. Great place to walk your dog or just walk in general.

This place is very nice i lived here for 30 years you can catch fish strippers, hulabit,stergin,spit teal perch, ocean perch. I love this place. REG.

This place is amazing. It’s a perfect getaway from the city while in the city.

Beautiful views. Construction so all of the restrooms are not open.

Went there to Candlestick today because my moms birthday is tomorrow she loved to go to Two Jacks after work I sit down at the water I eat fish catfish with the bone

Very nice place. Free parking. Only thing I didnt like is there was no available restroom. They were all closed when we went Not good Especially if your doing a party.

Great place to spend the day picnic picnicking fishing

The views are refreshing in this park that has been getting partial restoration of plant species, as well as camp sites.

Huge parking lot no charge. Park is great for the kids to ride their bike on paved trail/road/walking trails. Fishing pier is usable and the annual herring spawn runs thru these parts as well.

Never been to California. Great views of the San Francisco Bay.

Used to be my fave. The RV dwellers are bringing it down; trash, debris and run down cars.

The park is always safe, clean and nice. Great view and lots of picnic tables.

Its much better now. A lot peaceful guys there. A lot cute ground squirrel. Good for kids.

Easy to get to, lots of parking. Nice trails along the bay with nice picnic areas and piers to fish off of. When the weather is nice, this is a great place. When the weather is not, its miserable with fog and wind. If youre looking for a nice new place to take the dog, or a park a little less crowded, its worth checking out.

Sunday Funday! Picnics, fiestas, fishing, biking and swimming. Warm and sunny weather this time of year.

Just such pretty place to sit and look out at the ocean

It has actually improved since the demise of the stadium, they have added some landscape enhancements and graded the area around some of the picnic tables to make numbered campsites. Peaceful and quiet here, always good for an afternoon walk.

Volunteered here for Earth Day 2019! Great little known spot for a stroll by the shore. Can you name all the native species? (I certainly could not, but the park staff and volunteers seemed very passionate to share them, who knew!)

Best place ever with your family

Love bringing my dog out here for a walk. Tends to be quiet and peaceful for me.

Good place to take your dog for a walk but there are some shady people around. Also, be kind to the groundskeeper, by himself and a lot of space to cover, still doing a kick*** job maintaining it.

Looks a little delapidated but some great views. Presence of a large and not too nice RV park nearby means that there are sometimes odd characters hanging around.

Amazingly beautiful, tranquil views. Great place to relax and contenplate, with simple workout stations for the outdoor fitness types.

Sunday in the park is a football celebration. Bring your TV, an antenna, beer, 49ers shirts, and a barbecue.The park infrastructure has seen better days, and the park has an urban park feel to it. You know, sort of gritty, well worn, but the promise of a nature refuge.

Good area to eat food and relaxing

I fish this area for Halibut! Its a good place to fish. However the state park cops are a bummer. Watch the parking signs closely or pay, literally. The views of SF are incredible!

A lot of homeless around, FREE and dogs are welcome.

Seems like its just been let run down to the ground. People dump all kinds of rubbish along the roadway near this park. Potholes everywhere, uncut grass, just totally run down and uncared for. Pretty shady people around, doesn’t feel safe in any way. Unsure how anyone can enjoy this park in its current state.

Its great for hiking and dog walking, but its near a questionable area.

Its a nice place ,to park next to the water,and in the day.it has tables to grillbring family. And enjoy the day...

This is a wonderful state park that I take my dog to daily ! He loves to chase the Geese he can never catch them though. Hahaha. They have great little trail that loops around and plenty of open area to throw the ball for your pup if you like to keep him off leash when other dogs are not around!

Folks that go here are down to earth decent folks and the city has clean and cleared the beaches and rec areas

The potholes were terrible. Theres a dodgy crowd that hangs out here, open drug use going on and the place is littered with trash. Ive never felt so unsafe in my life.

Nice place to chill with friends but fishing is a waist of time. I will not go back and if I did catch anything, I would not eat it out of that dirty water

One of the best parks in SF

Good place to go for a walk. Enjoy and feed the squirrels (theres thousands), barbecue and hang out with friends or family.

One of my favorite spots

This Recreation Area was a bit run down looking because of all the graffiti that was written all over the walls but the people who patrol this Area started to paint over it. I just hope it lasts. It look a lot better now than it did before it always nice to take a stroll through here in the early mornings

Not a great place to camp! I am not from the area but I had found it through here. Lasted about five minutes before leaving. Didn’t have the ‘safest’ vibe to it.

Very scenic and quiet. Plenty of parking spaces and bay trails to walk.

I love coming here for a run with my wife. It doesn’t always smell the greatest I thinks it’s the sewer but other than that it has beautiful scenery

Very nice place to walk your dogs especially when your dog prefers off leash and you trust her enough to let her run free. Absolutely gorgeous place !

My favorite place to just think, only thing now,,, is that it seems like people cant just chill and relax without police presence, knowing exactly why people really like going there #420 ;) ,music, bbq and some socializing, the community knows wassup,, we call it the Wattas by Candlestick YEE!!!!

My husband and I stayed at candle stick for our honneymoon last weekend and we had a amazing experience thanks to Sue Neary the ranger over the park! Tge fishing experience was off the charts...planning another trip very soon

Its cool out there

Why does this place exist? There was garbage all over, it smelled bad, and the roads within a few miles are full of potholes. I navigated to candlestick point and was parked here only 5-10 minutes. In this time someone drove into the lot, hit multiple cars while doing donuts, then sped off. I feel like the entire area isnt monitored or maintained??

Scenic spot for picnic, fishing and hiking. Very windy in the late afternoon.

Great park. The wind is ridiculous. Cant believe there used to be a baseball stadium out there.
