Such a cute theater! I must have walked past this one hundred times and did not know that such an inviting lively space existed in their basement. Saw a great performance of Avenue Q and really enjoyed it.

If your watching a show here, the seating side-to-side is really tight to one another, and the rows are also close together, so prepare to share intimate space with your neighbors. The nice thing about a small spaced theater is you can hear the actors very well, and see them as well.

I saw the play, the View Upstairs, which I enjoyed very much. The theater is nice looking inside. However, theres not much leg room nor does there appear to be any air conditioning. The ambient temperature was very warm. I had to fight drowsiness the whole time because the theater was too warm inside.

Such a great theatre! Intimate performances with phenomenal actors. Its like youre practically in the play with them. The staff are some of the nicest people Ive ever met and they make you feel right at home. Highly recommended to new and seasoned theatre-goers.

Very cozy theater. Not a bad seat in the house as far as viewing the stage is concerned. Seats were in good repair and clean too. Wish they were a little wider since we got sandwiched by people taller & wider than ourselves, but not the end of the world. The bathrooms are starting to show their age, but were functional. Nice little bar with sodas for $2 and limited snacks like candy and cookies. Staff was friendly and helpful. If another production comes into town, we wouldnt hesitate to return.

Cute little theater tucked away in an office building down a couple flights of stairs. Saw Avenue Q, a very funny musical. The cast was very talented I enjoyed all of their performances. If there were another show I was familiar with or even this show again, I would see another perfomance here.

Very modern, small stage but so well designed and decorated. The particular play we saw was excellent. I used to take musical theater classes here as a kid, have such fond memories of the place and am glad to see that its been quite updated/is way more modern but also recognizable

Nice theater space with seating area, lounge, bar, and an entertainment space before entering the actual theater. Seats are comfortable and sightlines are good since this is an intimate theater with space for about 100 guests. Access to Muni Metro is excellent with the Van Ness Station being a very short walk from the building lobby.

Have been attending shows here for 15+ years. A few Ive seen twice and many have moved me to tears in the best ways. Not every show is awesome but the staff, actors and community deserve full support. Great bar, too! A Bay Area gem!

For the most part NCTC offers good theater. I have enjoyed most everything I’ve seen there. If you enjoy intimate theater with LGBT themes this is the place to go!

Saw Avenue Q here. To be honest, I didnt feel like it. But afterwards, I asked my family if we can go again! A great show, do watch if you get the chance. And the theatre, was perfect to host it. Not too big, not too small. I do hope it stays around. Someday, would like to be a member of the New Conservator Theater.

Fun little theater. Saw avenue q here. The theater is a quick walk away from the Civic Center BART which was great. Its also right by Hayes street so there are a lot of great food/drink options around for a meal or drink before the show. Theres also a small little bar inside the theater which can get a little long because there seems to be only one bartender. The theater itself seems to sit about 60 people max and the views from ever seat was great! It probably goes 8 to 10 rows back theater seating style.

We had heard the sound track last summer and enjoyed it immensely. The theater is small and the seats are comfortable. I didnt really see a bad seat in the house. The theater is clean and the bar service fast. The performers did a good job. This is sort of a Muppets for adults. Definitely not for kids under 15 years of so. We look forward to seeing other shows here.

Its a very small theater, hidden in a busy congested area of SF next to the Conservatory of Music. Its nothing fancy, with a small bar and average seating space and acoustics. But it gets the job done, we watched a musical here and really enjoyed it. For the price, its totally worth it!

Some cutting edge theater paired with some tried and true productions, and the talented actors carry off both with ease. Intimate theaters mean you always have a good view of the production. Its a plus to be able to take drink and snacks into the theaters. Add the reasonable ticket prices, and its a triple win!

Ive been entertained by NCTC for more than 20 years! They never let you down-- compelling, heart-warming and endearing performances every time. A great value, a great venue, awesome direction, production, set designs and costumes. Last night I saw The Nance and was absolutely blown away. Better than anything Ive seen on Broadway! Another knock out of the park for Ed Decker and his talented crew!

You can bring alcoholic drinks into the theater without having to buy an additional $20 sippy cup, so that alone should prompt a 6th star. I also recommend pre-ordering drinks for intermission if you like to save time and NOT wait in additional, unnecessary lines...

Fantastic multi-auditorium theater in San Franciscos Civic Center area. Very nice inside with generally comfortable seating, Bathrooms are modern and clean, but a long walk from the auditorium. Parking is difficult unless you use a city lot. Dont be fooled into paying an attendent at an unmanned city lot. Shows here are usually some of the best. Get your tickets and the half-price ticket booth.
