I had so much fun at their open house Sunday! They have amazing teachers and a great class selection. I took Alonzo King LINES Ballet, strip hop, burlesque and house. I will definitely be going back, esp for Strip Hop and Booiaka... definitely worth the drive from the Valley. Just give yourself plenty of time to find parking.

I come here for open adult classes every time I’m in SF! The staff are super friendly, the vibe is relaxed, and you’ll feel at ease trying new kinds of dance. I HIGHLY suggest GagaDance with James

Absolutely great adult dance studio for all types of dance - ballet, Jazz, modern, hip hop, etc. Highly trained & exceptional instructors at the top of their craft. VERY affordable classes!

A five star rating that is amply deserved. This dance facility is packed with creative, hard-working, and talented people. The school hosts Kathy Mata Ballet, provides free dance shows to the public, and has ballet instructors teaching in the community at various locations. The people are unbiased and open; warm, even. A gem in the City for creative and kinesthetically inclined people.

There is not a single teacher here that can actually teach hip hop. Its actually a joke employing ballet and contemporary dancers and putting moves to hip hop music and calling it a hip hop class. What a disappointment and waste of money.

Dont feel as at home as used to, but after all people, places and things are always in a constant state of change.

Pros: Has a lot of different dance styles and tons of different times for classes. Kyle Limin is an awesome teacher.Cons: Everything else. Building is old and not in a good neighborhood. (For instance, while waiting for rides home after class, Ive witnessed gun exchanges, fights, and drugs galore.) The studios are not well maintained and the floors are filthy and uneven. My ballet tights were covered in dirt after one class. Most frustrating is that the class leveling is not at all close to what is on the website - and different teachers have different definitions of each level so you never know what youre going to get. I keep coming back because of the plethora of ballet classes, but always leave feeling extremely disappointed and vowing to never come back.

Ive always wanted to learn ballet and came across Alonzo King LINES Ballet after watching a documentary. This school is one of the first places in SF to offer classes teaching adults ballet techniques. Im a complete beginner with no ballet training/background whatsoever and theres a class for me. So far, I love it. I cant wait to improve my skills and really get into dance!

Kathy Mata is the best adult ballet teacher I could possibly ask for! Her classes are challenging and engaging, she gives careful detail-oriented corrections, and she cares for her students tirelessly.

I came from out of town to take a class and the front desk staff was incredibly rude to me. The class I took was ok but the instructor was difficult to understand and did not explain or show any combinations.
