The Mission District has beautiful art spurred all around, and Balmy Alley is a great place to take a quick walk through and admire the scenes painted all along the walls. There is beautiful story-telling shown in the art, and especially on a nice day where the sun casts down in the alley, there is no better place to go after a nice lunch up the street. I definitely recommend taking a look here and appreciating some of what the local art community has to say.

We went to an event unveil new art work. It was posted on social media. There was so many welcoming people, including artist to talk to. They had a DJ playing music as we dance. Some people offering free drinks, other selling food and drinks. It was a very lively and welcoming event and we really enjoyed the art.

This place was super close to where we were staying. Balmy Alley is lined with lush potted plants, eclectic artwork and plenty of personality. Local artists have contributed some powerful pieces to the alley, along with ones that will put a smile on your face! If youre in Mission, dont miss the lovely stroll to this special spot.

Wont show all my photos cause its defeat the purpose of visiting the alley for yourselves. But we uberd there with little to no issue, were able to walk the alley with barely anyone else and then walked the streets a bit, if you go down the road a bit(walk towards park turn left) and turn left again, theres a whole shopping street with a bunch more artwork along the walls if you enjoyed Balmy.

The street is located in the Mission District in San Francisco, California. The block long alley is the best place to see the most concentrated collection of murals in San Francisco. The murals began in the mid-80s as an expression of artists outrage over human rights and political abuses in Central America. Today the alley contains murals on a myriad of styles and subjects from human rights to local gentrification. The alley is best viewed on foot- either by yourself or on a guided tour from Precita Eyes Mural Arts.It Is a must are in SFO.

Balmy Alley is located in the Mission District with many sideways loaded with stunning murals. Some of the murals in Balmy Alley stand out because they are 3 dimensional and has wood carvings as part of the murals. The artistic dimensions of these murals are superb. If youre looking for amazing art free of charge, this is the place to go! The pieces are large, beautiful and all stand for a cause or purpose. Not being native to San Francisco, this alley gave me more perspective on the city dynamic than any museum could ever. Pieces cover everything from the drug epidemics to the homeless situation to cultural issues. The people that live in the alley are very kind, some even have put out dishes of water for dogs and a bench to sit on and enjoy the art. This was honestly my favorite part of SF!ï

At the first glance this place does not appear to be the nicest of neighborhoods. However, once we were able to find a street parking spot, the area looked just okay especially when it was 10 in the morning. I really liked the artistic freedom with which some artists have tried to express themselves, even though their opinion might not be acceptable to all. This place is worth having a look if you have 15 minutes of spare time.

Intriguing neighborhood to explore, lively and colorful way to express culture, history, and opinions. There definitely are some politically charged and message rich images, which is exciting. Whether or not you agree, it helps show that perspective and brings us closer to a meaningful conversation. One of the more compelling elements for me was the energy in all the murals- even when dark in theme, they largely used vibrant colors and bold strokes. It showed a pride, a clear stance THIS IS WHAT WE KNOW not maybe we think it could be that.... Incredible how much you can say through this medium

If you are an art enthusiast this is one of the must see places in the City of San Francisco. It’s full of very many inspirational art pieces and murals, some of which depict modern movements such as the #Metoo and the women of the resistance movement. The alley is also sometimes the venue for hosting street art festivals and parties.

Balmy street murals located in the Mission District of San Francisco offers a virtual outdoor art gallery featuring colourful murals featuring expression of outrage over human rights and political abuse in central America. There were also a few murals featuring themes such as gentrification and Hurricane Katrina. This place is more of San Francisco local flavour and off the beaten path. You dont see it gets crowded like other tourist attraction areas. The alley is best viewed on foot either by yourself or on a guided tour from Precita Eyes Mural Arts.
