Definitely a five star! Took my family out with captain Steve and we had the best time! Not only did he put us on the fish, but he and his deck hand were very friendly and fun! Whether your a new fisherman or an experienced one, this is the boat to be on. The customer service is on point and they went the extra mile to make my familys trip memorable. I cant wait to book another trip!

My first time on a six pack and I have to say I was impressed. the group initially wanted to target Salmon, but the bite was slow, so Captain Steve had a back up plan and that plan was nothing sort of a miracle, with live bait, he used his expertise and got the group on a good drift for Rock fish and Lingcods. Both the Captain and the Deckhand worked hard to make sure their clients were satisfied, good people, good music, good vibes, good weather and great tasting fish....Just look at that huge lingcod, now thats what I call a jack pot. Definitely want to go on a another trip soon. Highly recommended

Doug Ashley’s commentsI have been on many sport fishing trips before but this was the best I have ever been on. Captain Steve and his boat hand Tone make the experience. They give you advice when you need it but let you fight your own fish. Our boat hooked 10 Sturgeon and one stripper. I had my 14 year old grandson Titus and 3 other friends with me. My grandson caught his first Sturgeon and could not believe how big it was. 54 inches. He was thrilled over the top with joy. One of my other friends caught a 44 inch Sturgeon. Plus I caught a keeper Stripper. I also had on line a over sized Sturgeon that jumped out of the water. Great experience was had by all.Thank you Steve and Tone. I will definitely be going out with you again.

Man we had a great day on the water!! Went out with the best Captain and Deck hand on the water!!! The captain (Steve) wasnt no joke, made sure we got out there and caught some good fish. Gave us the game and ran with it and scored!! The deck hand (James) was knowledgeable and made sure everybody knew what they were doing. On top of all that just some good brothers to hang out with. This is hands down the best charter I have ever been on and will definitely be back!! I already told all my people about it!!

What a trip ,my family and I spent 2 days back to back on the river with Captain Steve, and deck hand Tony, talk about non stop action and fun, started the first day off with my 14 year old daughter hooking into and landing a 59 inch sturgeon followed by my wife hooking into and landing a 55 inch sturgeon, my father and I also caught fish but the girls definitely showed us up for sure, Im sure Steve, and Tony were putting their special bait on their hooks . The second day my wife hooked into and landed a 59 inch sturgeon, another young lady on the boat caught a 50 class sturgeon and my dad caught a 40 class sturgeon , we were all treated like family, not like a paycheck the experience we all had was nothing short of first class and I cant wait to go fishing with them again

Five star review! Had a blast with Cap Steve and Tony, and they put me on some great fish! They work around the clock as hard as possible to increase the chances, and the effort paid off obviously. First salmon almost 30 lb and limit out before 12. Definitely coming back for Sturgeon!

I had great fishing trip. It was tough day but Captain Steve worked hard for us and searched around fish and found good spots and we caught many King Salmons. His son James is great helper and he net fish for 100%.

My babe decided to take me out on a fishing date. It was on one of my bucket list to go fishing with him. I always wanted to know what it feels like to wait around in the cold for the fish to come. It was my first time going fishing super early on a charter boat. I was not prepared. Once I got on the boat, Caption Steve told me that I was going to catch the biggest fish but I didn’t believe him. When we headed toward the ocean, I was feeling sick, I threw up several times, back and fourth. I sat down pretty much the whole time. It was pretty intense for me. This was not how I imagined it. Captn Steve and assistant James were very friendly. They encouraged me to eat and offered me snacks. They said to eat something salty which will help. I felt so much better after! I had a good and bad day. But I must say I enjoyed my time on the boat after all the mess it was all worth it because I had caught my first fish ever! I wouldn’t have did it without the help of them! They were so helpful and I love the energy they had! I would love to come back again! This time I will know what to expect.

At LEAST 5 Stars! We had a mixed crew of beginner fisherman and very experienced ones. The beginners were given the extra coaching and help they needed and the experienced fisherman were able to gain expertise and greatly enjoyed their experience as well! Out of 80-100 boats fishing, we were one of only a handful that were actually catching Salmon. I give Steve and his company my highest recommendation!

Went out on the Top Gun today for Halibut fishing. Capt. Steve and Deckhand James were excellent. The effort taken by the deckhand and the time put in and the skill displayed by the Captain really paid off. We fished both inside and outside the bay. We caught 2 fish per rod for halibut. I am very happy with the Hookd Up Fishing and will be booking them again. I recommend them to any fishing enthusiast.

I went Halibut Fishing on Monday and limitd out with 3 fish. I had a great time and Captain Steve is the man ! He and his son mapped out a successful approach to the day. They gave us good tips on how to catch the Halibut and we didnt head back in until 4:30 PM. That may sound trivial but many boats will call it a day in a heartbeat to conserve fuel / time and even if only a few fish are in the box. I am an experienced fishermen and it was nice to see a business focused on customer success. The Captain and deckhand were dedicated to our efforts to catch fish, you really cant ask for more on a trip like this.

These guys are pretty cool. It doesn’t matter how experience you are. They will show you. I was the only person on board that never went fishing, and they helped me catch my first Salmon. Everyone on board was just hanging out, talking to one another, fishing and having a good time. If you want to have a good time while fishing, check them out!

We had a great time with Captain Steve and his deckhand James this past weekend. We were able to catch 2 keeper halibut in the morning, but as the day went on, the weather got a bit worse which made it harder to fish. Throughout the day, we were told cool stories about some fishing trips they’ve hosted in the past, and we were also given pointers specifically for halibut fishing. These guys are down to earth and care about their clients a lot, so we’ll definitely be returning for more fishing soon

I organized a small event on a sailboat with this company and we hd a great time. The boat was in good shape and the crew of three was very helpful and service oriented. We were well looked after and had a great time even with young children.

Been going out on charters with captain Steve for about 10 years now and have to say hands down the best captain on the bay. Whether it be sturgeon, halibut, shark or rock cod I know captain Steve will do whatever it takes to get you on fish. Professional, polite and loves fishing. I’ll defiantly will not go with any other charter

Two days ago I got the chance to take a trip out with Captain Steve and James and it was the best charter I have been on. Talk about a crew that takes pride in what they do. Steve instantly put us on the fish first thing in the morning and had us on them all day. From limits of salmon in the morning to 4 halibut shy of a 4 man limit. James the deck hand was on it, worked hard for us making sure our bait was always fresh, quick with the net, and even down to making sure the deck of the boat was always clean. Couldn’t ask for a more knowledgeable crew with a great personality. Can’t wait to get out on the water with them again!

Went out this morning on the Top Gun. Great boat (smoked all the other boats on the water) and better captain and deck hand. Back to the docks by 11 with full limits and these 30+ plus beauties. Can’t wait to go again next year! Also saw a bunch of whales.

Steve and James did an outstanding job of putting our group of 3 on halibut and bass! We spent a full day on the water with them, they were knowledgeable, friendly and fun through out the whole trip! Had a chance to treat my friend to a fishing trip with Hookd Up which we were trying to make happen a long time ago but just never was able to make the time fit. Finally we got a date set up where we could both be off and find out about the boat that we herd so much about. Captain Steve and Deck Mate Tony in our eyes are the Dream Team. The two of them move gracefully in all their actions on that boat and never seemed to have missed a beat. They gave total instructions on how to catch this illusive fish and to our great advantage of being good listeners, my Baby caught his first big Sturgeon weighing in at 40lbs and some change at 56 inches. Captain Steve put us on the fish first thing this morning and there were alot of missed bites from the others on the trip mostly because of lack of paying attention to their fishing poles. But never the less,Captain and his Deck mate kept trying for everyone even though they seem to have difficulty socializing with their friends and paying attention to the bites. We caught 2 fish for the day and missed numerous oppurtunities. Over all I rate this outfit as a Top knotch fishing boat and we will be back and thank you Captain Steve for making this outting well worth it for us. Peace and Love for you two.......

Steve and James did an amazing job making sure our group had a great time. They definitely went out of their way to make sure we learned the ropes and get as much fish as we could possibly get.Unfortunately the weather was poor but luckily we managed to make a couple good catches. We immediately booked for next month as soon as we got back.

Hookd Up Sportfishing took our team of 8 people around the bay for a 3-hour cruise. For most of us it was our first time sailing. The whole experience was great, the captain and crew were really knowledgeable, professional, and engaging, taught us a lot about the bay, and were a lot of fun to spend a few hours with.

Went with the family to go fishing with Hook’d Up Sportsfishing and had such an amazing time. My 12 yo son enjoyed himself and he learned a lot. Thank you for such a great experience. I can’t wait to do it again :)

On Sunday, October 21, 2018, I went out fishing on Hookd Up Fishing with Capt. Steve Mitchell. Steve is very knowledgeable about the different types of species inshore and offshore. This was first time fishing for Sturgeon and what a success. Steve taught everyone on board the boat how the technique of how to find the fish and how to catch them.You have to listen to the instructions, he wants you to catch fish and enjoy yourself. We lost two, due to our errors and landed a shorty which we immediately released, 43 and 53 White Sturgeon.Steve actually stayed out later, to try and get the third person his sturgeon. This was all completed by Steve cleaning the Sturgeon the way you want them. Plenty of pictures taken and great day on the water.Make sure you bring you license, sturgeon tag, food, drinks, warm clothing and sunscreen.Capt. Steve is the person for Sturgeon charters, SF Bay fishing and Salmon season fishing. His prices are reasonable and he fishes all year, even with a light charter.

I went on my trip with Captain Steve, and his deckhand James earlier this month. Our trip was going well until the wind picked to seemingly apocalyptic levels. Instead of putting us in danger, and making us sit out in horrible weather all day Captain Steve cut it short at rescheduled the trip for later in the month at no cost to us. This isnt normally the case with any business, and it shows the great lengths he goes to ensure an amazing experience for clients. Our trip was rescheduled to 6/25/20, and we limited out by by 1022. I ended up the day with three 10+ lb halibut, a shark and a shaker.Ive been on larger party boats and they are fun, but far less memorable. Captain Steve (and crew) supply premium gear, and pro expertise you want in a guide. Larger boats may look cheaper, but after rod rental, gear, and other nickel and diming the costs are similar to Hookd up. Less experience fisherman can get help whenever its needed due to having less people on the boat.If I could give Hookedd Up sport fishing 10 stars I would. in fact Im contemplating logging into my other gmail account. They are expert fisherman who are in the business to see their clients do well and more importantly good people. Thank you Captain Steve and crew.

Great boat to get on and catch fish. Captain Steve knows his stuff and is very friendly. Been out on several boats and this is my new favorite. Captain Steve wanted all of us to catch something as much as we did. I cant wait to go out again and get me another sturgeon before the year ends.

Steve was such a great guide. He did everything possible to make sure we left with our slots. He was even nice enough to stay out until out slots were filed. Another great trip today with Captain Steve as he put us on a ton of fish (boat limit), and did what it took to please the clients of the boat. Steve is a great guy that teaches you a lot about whatever target you are chasing, and I’d recommend him in a heartbeat! I’ve went on multiple trips on the Top Gun and Hook’d Up Sportfishing is by far my Charter of choice!

Cool dude but a mediocre guide. If youre looking for a $200 boat ride around the delta then this is your guy. Spent about an hour fueling up and then he spent all day on his phone asking other guides where the fish were. There was more action on the other end of his cell phone than there was on the boat with the family drama he brought on board as well. Pretty much used our fishing trip to pre-fish for a tournament he had coming up. Coming from a fishing guide myself I wouldnt recommend this guy if you actually wanna catch fish and learn something.

Had a chance to finally get my family and friends together to get out with Captain Steve and his deckhand Wendell. Let me just say this, hands down I’ve never been on a charter where they go beyond the call of duty making sure we had the best experience on their boat. The captain put us on the fish in which we caught more halibut then we had imagined we were going to get. Although captain Steve predicted that we were going to have to fish through the smaller ones to get the keepers. He was dead on. We had the best time out in his boat and his deckhand which we nick named “Hawk Eye” was the best . He was no joke. Not to mention the ultimate comedian of the day. We will definitely be back and highly recommend the crew on a fantastic job well done. If you want to book a San Francisco charter boat,I strongly suggest you give these guys a try. You won’t be disappointed!!!!!!

These guys are great. There is no rating high enough for them. We caught so many fish. Steve know all the spots and James is fantastic with all fisherman from novice to experienced. You learn and have fun at the same time. I would do this trip or any other with them anyday of the week.

Halibut Fishing Trip May 24, 2019We booked a private charter (6 men) with Hook’d Sportfishing. Captain Steve and Deck mate James was fantastic. We left from the Berkeley Marina J Dock. Captain Steve and James were early, which is always good to see when your scheduled to leave at 6am.We had a late start due to a fellow charter couldn’t get his boat started and Captain Steve jumped into help. I thought that was really cool, he didn’t have to, but he did.Once we got ready to move they went over the safety instructions, where the life vests were, etc.Once we started to move, Deck Mate James showed us different things from other fishing charters catching fish, to site seeing like Alcatraz Island, Golden Gate Bridge to a swimming sea lion. Our first stop was in SF to pick up ice for our future catch, and over to the live bait section. Then off we went.Captain Steve hit his first spot and within minutes we had fish on. From that point forward, we fished. If it got slow he would reposition us according to his fish radar or other areas he knew about. Right around 2pm when most charters quit and you got what you got you go back in to dock. Not Captain Steve, we were 4 short of our 18 Halibut and he asked if we want to limit out, and we said heck ya, let’s go. He went to another 2 spots until we got our limit. Captain Steve said it ain’t over until the fat lady sings, he was right, it got us pumped and we tried our hardest. In addition to the Halibut we caught 2 Stripers., 1 sand shark (released) and a stingray (small bat-ring) I caught that one, that was a nice fight, he was released. Everything on this boat is according to the rules, they measure every fish, too small by a 1/4” back in the water they go.Forget any bad reviews you read, this was my first trip on this charter and we have already booked a Salmon Trip in July. For any future trips, this is my boat. Prices are fair, you can bring an ice chest with drinks and food on board. I’ve been on other charters and they try and get you fish, if you do, you do, if not too bad and they leave on time. I loved the personal attention Captain Steve & James gives you, you end up becoming family. I can honestly say this is my BEST fishing trip ever.There is a small restroom onboard just in case you need it.When you return to the dock, Captain Steve brings out all the fish for you for a photo op. Then he will fillet them. Another great job, we ended up with so much fish fillets. We tipped him for this service, filleting 18 Halibut & 2 Stripers was a lot, but he didn’t complain.If your looking for a fishing trip, definitely use Hook’d Fishing aka “Top Gun”. Fishing is always hard, you don’t always catch fish, but I believe with Captain Steve you have the best chance to do so.Thanks again Captain Steve and James, we will see you again in July, let’s limit out in Salmon!!

I cannot recommend captain Steve. Meeting time was 5 am at the harbor. So I got there, already paid my deposit for that day one day before and he told me at 5am that he is already fully booked and I should try another boat.So he might be a good fisherman that I cannot judge, but for me his organisation was quite poor and I was very disappointed.

I was referred to Hook’d up Sportfishing by a friend who spoke so highly of Captain Steve and his boat. All I have to say is- “Best six-pak charter I have ever been on.” Captain Steve, is very knowledgeable and was able to put us on fish. Captain Steve took us out for the first trip of the 2018 season for sturgeon. He had us on the fish all day. Ended up with 3 for 2 keepers. He made sure we all had a good time and stayed out alot longer than planned to .Akers sure we all had a chance at catching a fish. Very good captain would highly recommend him to anybody. So me and my friends decided to go out on a deep sea fishing trip in which we had a hard time deciding out of the 5 star charters that were listed,which one would we go with. After looking at websites and reading reviews, we decided to go out with Captain Steve on the Top Gun. We hoped that his charter was EXACTLY what it was talked up to be and just to let you all know.....THIS GUY AND HIS DECKHAND (Wyndell) Rock ! We caught more fish than we imagined. These guys live the life forreal. They were professional about everything from the beginnings to the end. Their Boat is Bad Ass ,and comfortable. I would recommend giving this boat a shot. They are going to go over board on their service for you... We are coming back in July for Salmon. Thats how much we enjoyed this charter. Give these guys a shot,you wont be disappointed.

Been fishing with Captain Steve with Hook’d up sportfishing a few times and every time the whole boat had a great time and were put on the fish. We brought a Mortans tritip from Costco and some Hawaiian rolls and BBQ’d on the boat on the grill provided by Capt Steve. Most of the trips we were catching, bringing in limits. The one day we were just fishing still bringing in some fish but that’s fishing. I highly recommended Capt Steve with Hook’d up sportfishing. Great Captain

The captain even stayed out later than the scheduled trip to fish the best part of the tide in which we were rewarded with multiple bites and landed Two of the three slot fish.
