I had a little situation with the pricing of a ticket but I would like to Thank the manager Martin @ Mayan Theater on Military (SA) for providing above and beyond customer service. He was very diligent & professional . You don’t many people like Martin but I hope he is recognized for his professionalism and prompt actions to be understanding & caring . We will definitely be back here @ Mayan.

We love with this theater! Amazing comfortable seating, superb sound. Watched the movie Infidel a must see film. If you havent been to the movies now is the time, Infidel is the movie and the Mayan is the go to theater. You wont regret it.

Pretty cool with the bar and the seats and all just needs more attention from the staff and the ushers to do diligence when it comes to keep a theater up to standards but other than that I enjoy watching the movies there

Was not crowded do not feel like being packed like sardines, no kids running around and making noise, enjoyed movie in comfort and enjoyed the quietness.

I took my great grand nephew to see Sonic. I was amazed at the extremely comfortable seats. They even recline. We were seated very near the front, which I thought would be too close. But it was perfect. The place is super clean. We stayed after and enjoyed the arcade. We had a blast. Will return for sure.

We had a very pleasant experience. The ticket taker... the concession staff to the clean up staff was very nice, helpful and professional. Its very well kept and clean. The seats were very comfortable. We will definitely be going back soon! Thank you management!!

Great theater, its were my girlfriend finally admitted we were together.

My kids had fun watching the movie. The theater was clean and comfortable. My problem is with the lobby and concessions. You stand in a very crowded line to buy cups and popcorn. Then, you have to fight through another crowd into a small room where you get your own drinks and extras for your popcorn. This room is really filthy and most of the machines are out of stock or out of order. Theres spills everywhere, over flowing trash and napkins tossed around. And they are always out of ice. Theaters are OK. Lobby sucks.

A Month ago I posted a review (see Below).I wanted to do an update and let everyone know the Crushed Ice is back and we couldnt be happier. The Santikos website was not cooperating during our recent movie flick and missed out on some Reward Members points. However, after getting on the line with Santikos, we were able to get our reward points and planning our next movie trip!!THANK YOU! We have a huge Family of 7 and all the kiddos come and we do Group sizes of 10+ when Family & Friends join us! This is our go to movie theater since its so close to home. I love the reclining seats. The staff is always very attentive and friendly. Food and drinks are always good. Movie sound and picture are great. I would recommend to friends and family.

Cant remember the last time I was at this theater. I wanna say almost 10 years ago. The makeover on the interior is really nice and the bar is a plus. Wasnt disappointed needless to say.

The seats are so comfortable!! The theatre is always clean! My only complaint are the sodas, they really aren’t very good! My husband and I had to try 3 different flavors last time until we found one that tasted normal.

Our movie was in a small theater. When purchasing tickets they gave us the option to pick our seats. Seats in theater are spaced out by 3 to 4 seat apart to keep people socially distanced.

I hadnt been to this place in years. This last time I went it completely took me by surprise with the bar and seating in the theater it self. The seats are so comfy. Differently going back soon.

I’ve been here a few times and have no complaints.

Movies are great and seats but food is not so great. We got the nachos that come with everything. I saw a very little sour cream, when i asked if we could get more the employee kinda got upset and didnt reply just made a face and went to the kitchen to add more. The meat was kinda old and cheese not fully melted. We were hungry so it was doableOverall great seating though. We are regulars here. By the way it was our 1st time getting food other than popcorn probably our last.

We always have a great experience at this movie theater. Today, I witnessed a kind gesture from one of the cashiers at the concession station. Three kids didn’t have enough money for popcorn and cashier reached her pocket and paid the difference.

This movie theater used to be super ghetto and I avoided it for a really long time. It scared me. But now its pretty awesome. I love the seats. Theyre really comfortable and they recline! Theres plenty of room to walk in the aisle, so you dont have to worry about stepping on feet or getting a face full of butt. Love, love, love

Fancy theatre with reclining chairs and a giant auditorium. I watched my movie in comfort. The only problem I had was fighting to keep myself awake in the recliner lol

The huge stadium seating seats are an awesome feature. I really appreciate the comfort and room. The drinks looked really 1st rate, although I had beer, but it was really cold. Also the lobby and theater was extremely clean.

Horrible experience every time waiting for food! Forget to give you stuff then try to make you feel like its your fault or pay for it again! We never got our order of food we ordered before the movie. Then we tried to get it after the movie and they took fooooooorrrrrrevvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeerrrrrrrrr just for fries! Almost a 45 minute wait after the movie for fries when we ordered before the movie! Good for the early bird special and thats about it! The only reason it even got a star is because i have to select one star to post this review!!!!! Not worth any stars really!

After the upgrades that were made its so much better, nice and clean. Has a bar area, party room (decent size) and the arcade (pretty much the same).

Its been years since my last visit to this theater and the renovations and changes this place has gone under and have been completed are amazing. The South Side of San Antonio is coming up and has a jewel in the Mayan. Special thanks to the friendly staff as well for making it an enjoyable experience.

This place is sort of my escape. I like to take my kids and sometimes there dad. We allow them to sit in the middle recliners as we sit one adult on each end. Right when the movie starts I make sure to grab some delicious fresh popcorn and refreshing drinks for everyone. As the movie begins and after all the kids are comfortable. Then I recline back and enjoy the sound of the movie and me as a mom of 5 and a grand parent of two and a half. I take my nap as my kids enjoy the movie. Point of it all is its so so comfortable and new released movies its almost perfect.

We saw the new Maleficent movie. It was really good. The theater was pretty cool, we did some AVS thing? I think I said that right. And the seats were recliners, that was awesome. The screen was a little bigger, and the sound was more surround sound and fuller then typical theaters. I could feel all the low end sounds on my chest. It was a good time. I put it in saves on my Google map, in case Im ever this way again. Its only about five miles away from the Lackland Air Force Base.

Visiting from Houston. Avid Santiko goer. Horrible experience. Watched Fantasy Island (great movie, most comfortable seating hands down). Couple in front of us talked throughout the entire movie and were on their cell phone. I put up with it as long as I could. Half way though the movie I asked to speak to the manager. I waited by the concession for 10 minutes (missing the movie) until Nicholas Garcia the acting manager arrived. I told hin about the issue. He said hed take care of it. I went back into the theater. Problem persisted until the movie ended. I asked for the manager again. I told him I was not happy about the experience and felt robbed of watching the movie. I wanted to be able to come the next day and watch the same movie. He said absolutley not. My ticket has no cash value. He was flustered, rose his voice. I told him he was out of line. I wasnt asking for cash. I just want to enjoy what I paid for. By far, the worst customer service Ive experienced in a theater.

Doesnt look much from outside but the inside is nice. They serve real food aside from your typical movie theater snacks! Highly recommend their California burger. Recliner seats are very comfy as well :)

Great theatres... Very clean and the refreshments were very refreshing.

Like the new changes. The refreshments area very sticky floor due to parents allowing toddlers to pour their own drinks. The counter staff had very dry attitude including ticket service.This is not my go to theater but I figured because of the remodel it might be different.After today... Im sticking to my usually place.

The Santikos Mayan theatre was a brand new experience for me, not much of a Movie Theatre person, I usually avoid them but my daughter wanted to go.I have been to River City downtown with their new renovations but not to the Mayan. This was my first time at the Mayan theatre probably since the late 1980’s seriously! I never have considered it because I didn’t think it had changed and always went to the Quarry or River Center if ever I did go. But it was a nice surprise to go to see how nice it had been redone! Everything was so clean, kids working there very helpful and the bathrooms we’re very clean. The movie was great and I enjoyed walking around afterwards to see what had changed and it was pretty much everything! We played a few games in the game room and headed home after the movie which was easy to watch and pretty comfortable in the large oversized seats. I’d say we were there at the first showing during the week so it was not crowded at all. Which I was happy about too. Not sure if it would have been a different experience if it were crowded. But I think it’s always best to make the earlier shows for that reason. No crowds. Good job Mayan Palace, theatre I’m coming back!

Super comfy reclining chairs. Awesome concessions available. Definitely looks like a great place for a birthday party. Plenty of activities. Bathrooms could have been cleaner though.

The main lobby was relatively clean. The only issue was the actual theater didnt seem very clean and had a smell to it. The food order took a lot longer than expected. Overall a good experience minus the small attention to details.

I will never go back to the Mayan. The entire experience was horrible. From the people who sale the tickets, to people who go threw your belongings and the dirty people that cook and sale the food, even the management is a joke. Way over priced for everything. And the restrooms are nasty. Might as well wait for the movie to come out on DVD then go to the Mayan. Why hire ghetto people to work if they are going to act like they rather be any where else but work. Employees having conversations that are not suitable for the workplace. You hire trashy people, you get trashy service. This is why people on the south side drive to the northside for the movies. Thanks for nothing Mayan theater.

One of my favorite theaters to go to Its reasonably priced and who doesnt love the reclining seats.

Its usually great but today they didnt let us choose from all the seats because supposedly they were all sold out except the first front row and turned out that the room was half full , so basically sat way in the front for no apparent reason !

Love this movie theater. The renovations make it look great and the recliners are very comfy. I like the tickets price here is lower than other Santikos theaters. Same comfort.

I love the remodeling. Great movies and reasonably priced snacks. Great place to get away for a couple of hours and enjoy a great movie.

Pros: The theater has been kept up to date with all the latest technologies. The common areas, the theaters and bathrooms are clean. Good size arcade, seating areas, bar and concession stand. Cons: The parking lot is small for a 14 screen theater. Lots of distractions during the movie.I know it’s unfair to ding the theater for that last one but it detracts from the experience as a whole. I’ve only been here once and the people on either side of me got up a combined 7 or 8 times throughout the movie. Perhaps it was just bad luck. I’m willing to try it again and I’ll re-review if and when I do, but it will probably be a while before I make it out there again. With that said, given that the parking situation is still a pain point for me the best I’ll go is 4 stars.

Took my family to see a movie, we were sitting next someone that was constantly on their phone. Went to go get an associate to assist and no one ever showed. Tried to just enjoy the movie but kept getting distracted. When I asked to speak to the manager at the end of the movie I was told no manager was on duty at the time. I havent been to the movies in awhile and the fact that the one time I decide to go it was a bad experience

I always like coming here, its my go to movie theater. Never had any problems. Only advice I have is for people to take their own trash to the trash can after the movie ends. It doesnt hurt to help out.

I recently went with a friend n it was filthy the floors were dirty I have been to this theater for years n I was shocked I was sick all nite didnt know what I pick this place really needs cleaning I hope they take care of this problem n I wasnt kidding still feeling sick

We went to the Mayan to see Aladdin and it seems like the AC was not working it was so hot in the theater. We pay so much to be uncomfortable in the movies. We were told you can speak to guest services but all they said was someone was looking into it and don’t know when it will be done. Usually experience is great this time it was not so much and it was uncomfortable. That is so sad:(

Audio needs to be updated, but seating is awesome! Smells a little moldy as well. Free refills on sodas why the freestyle machines and free refills on large popcorn. Cant beat it for the price. Will be going back for sure!
