We went to the DnD show and it was amazing. Spent an hour laughing non stop at the very unexpected twists and turns of the show. The performance is very casual with BYOB and encourages audience participation which allows for a lot of fun. Great for date night or with friends. Parking lot next to the theater makes it easy to come and enjoy the show.

This is a fun place to watch improv, and they really have some talented performers. It’s an intimate venue with seating for about 45 people. The seats are staggered in height (like a movie theatre) so everyone gets a good view of the stage. The sound/acoustics are really good - none of the performers had microphones on them, but you could clearly hear every word.Thursday nights are “key party night.” It’s FREE admission and you even get a free beer from the Alamo Beer Company - yay beer! Let me explain key party night. You *voluntarily* write your name down on a keychain, then they draw one from a bowl and call you up on stage (you don’t have to write your name down if you don’t want to). They proceed to ask you where you are from, what you do for fun, what your hobbies are, etc. Then, they latch onto some of that info and launch into comedic, improvisational ad-lib. There were 7 or 8 performers on stage and they were ALL so talented and funny at what they were doing. The Thursday night show only lasts an hour, but as I said it was free. They have their own parking lot (free) or you can park at The Pearl for free and walk just a little ways. All of the staff I encountered were friendly and fun!

What an amazing place. Youll see great shows. Theres a free one on Thursday called key party if you need proof. But they are all good, with improvisors doing comedy for you on the spot. Whats greater is how Bexar Stage cultivates community, offering classes to become an improvisor all the time. Even better are the opportunities Bexar Stage creates for its students. Seriously, watch a show there and youll be a convert.

Great small theater venue focusing on improvisational theater. This theater is relatively new and situated on the north end of downtown San Antonio under the I-35 bridge. The co-owners are friendly and will make you feel at home, like one of the big extended family of performers who frequent the place. BYOB friendly!

Loved the whole experience! As soon. As you walk in you are greeted with smiles. The energy of this place is fantastic. Intimate theatre area. I love the Judgement free feeling. I will definitely be coming back. It is so impressive what people come up with on the spot. I was laughing the whole time. They took suggestions from the audience and spun from there, really impressive and funny stuff. In our show, audience participation allowed at the end of segment. I will be going back and telling others.

Great location, great people, great entertainment. I have been to several Bexar Stage shows. I love how diverse each show is and I love watching all the different actors come together for each scene. This is also a great location. Its close to the Pearl Brewery and has free parking. Its easy to enjoy drinks after the show at a nice bar after. This place is definitely worth checking out if you havent yet.

Enjoyed premier performances of the Bexar Stage recent stand up comedy graduating class. Lacy L. earned an enthusiastic ovation from the audience as she described her two pre-adolescent sons bathroom antics. This is a great venue to support budding stand up comedians.

This place is one of our favorite date night spots. They have a variety of shows Thursday - Saturday and you never know what they’ll be offering this week (the best place to find info on the shows is on FB). The talent they bring in from Austin and around the state is impressive and we’ve seen some hilarious shows here. They have a couple of in house teams that are ringers and you know you’ll always get a top notch show. And I love a BYOB establishment!

First time here, theyre fairly new. We had a good time, but the second show was cancelled. When we asked about it the owners comped us two tickets to any future show! They were super nice, will definitely keep this place as one of our new hangouts. Oh and its byob! How awesome is that?!

Still has free and plentiful parking. Can buy tickets in advance or at the door. If coming in for an early improv comedy show; theres often a break in price to attend late show, but not always. Just depends. Same thing with the show? Sometimes it is freaking hilarious... bizarre... strange and funny and then sometimes not. Dont go expecting improv to always be funny: sometimes will be profound or tragic. Dont get me wrong - the individual troupes do best to make it a merry go, but sometimes thats not what happens. Its performance art not a static sculpture. Was disappointed in tech support failing onstage performers.

A good little venue that will seat a small crowd (about 50) with a small backstage, a too bright spotlight and a good sound system. Parking right next door, under IH 35, is convenient. 40 years ago, the neighborhood was sketchy, but now it is in the shadow of The Pearl and some nice condos and the Museum Reach of the San Antonio River Walk.

Bexar stage wants to become a home for comedy and improv in San Antonio. Though theyre not the only joint in town with this wish, by gosh theyre the best in town. Even its infancy, Bexar stage has some of the best improv in SA, and the only way to go is up. If youre looking for something to do on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, you owe it to yourself to stop by for one of their weekly shows. You wont regret it.
