This theater is one of the many gems of Rockford. On warm clear summer nights, they will open the roof of this theater and you can see the stars twinkle above the crowd. I have seen at least 3 shows here, and all of them have been simply amazing. The sets are very polished/creative, the costumes are uniformly beautiful, and the actors are all very talented! I cant wait for the next show!

This place is so pretty and amazing. I came there to act and learn new things about acting and tech. All of the people there were so kind. I would come again. Maybe even come for some auditions.

Chris Bradey has hit his stride in his 3rd season as head of Starlight Theater. The entire season was entertaining and well directed. While some of the vocalists were a bit less talented than those of previous years (in particular, none are as powerful as Chris was when he performed) the talent level was very good. The choreography especially improved over the season, and the productions overall were enjoyable.

Wonderful shows! Fantastic cast and crew. Great one of a kind venue! Reasonably priced concessions. Please consider a gift to the sound system upgrade.

Beautiful outdoor theater, really affordable concessions, amazing director, techies, and cast & crew. Definitely going to see another production here. Although, the seats get a bit uncomfortable after an hour, so Im bringing something to sit on haha.

Absolutely gorgeous!!! My friend and I went to see Jane Eyre the musical and were taken away by the architecture. The performance itself was wonderful. Props were nicely created, as well as costumes. We both had a wonderful time and enjoyed this theater. I would definitely go back again.

Joseph was WONDERFUL! Great cast, innovative staging, very energetic performance. Everyone should see this show in its second run later this month.

Really fun atmosphere. Only thing I would not is the amphitheatre is outside, which I did not know prior to arriving. It does get kind of cold so come prepared.

Its huge and spaciouse for any venue, they hold many plays as well through the spring and summer and events in the fall! Beautiful place and it is located in rockvalley college campus!

The play Mamma Mia was just wonderful it was really close to the movie however I do know that the sound system needs to definitely be updated as I could barely hear what was going on

Starlight is amazing. Top opens on nice weather. Cool breeze in hot days. All good seats. Ice cream for $1.00...plays are great. Have seen all 4 this year. Cinderella, after the ball, is next. Best entertainment in Rockford..

Great place to see a play outdoors!

Parking lot was under construction so we had to park further away. As a recent knee replacement patient, it was inconvenient. The play was fantastic and parking wont keep me away!

Theater under the stars. The show The Addams Family was a great musical to watch.

The Addams family was hilarious, my teen daughter and I loved it.

What a gem in Northern Illinois. A bit of a walk for someone with disabilities but it is accessible. Dont miss out on an opportunity to enjoy a live performance in this outdoor venue.

Despite being outside, it is generally a comfortable place. I recommend bringing a blanket of you get cold easily and a ponytail holder if you have long hair. I have never seen a play there I didnt like.

Starlight is a truly magical place. My family looks forward to sitting under the stars and watching the talented actors, creative set designers, musicians, and the rest of the great staff bring these stories to life before our eyes. If youve never been you are missing something special.

Wonderful setting for intimate plays

We are enjoying an evening of Shakespeare, up close, under a tent. It is raining, but we are dry, and the fires are burning.

The actors are great and all the lighting was perfect, but the microphones were kind of bad.

Beautiful venue, perfect for the RSO Independence Day Spectacular that we went to this year! Easy to get to, great sound, not a bad seat in the house. Truly a bright light in Rockford!

Its a really interesting, well designed performaning arts theater on the rvc community college campus.Ive always had a good experience while there, the concession booth is really affordable.

It will be great when sound system is fixed.

Excellent outdoor / open theater with good venue of shows and performances under a unique protective covering that opens in a star shaped configuration allowing you to see the stars and increase air flow around the theater.

West Side Story was wonderful.

I went to see Jane ayre on Wednesday night. I was hoping that it was going to be a good production and i dont know Mike Webb had retired until i got there. So, it ended up being the most disappointing production i have seen at starlight.The music seemed to have the same melodies, there voices didnt harmonize, the techs were continually mistiming the mics, sounded like the older Jane ayre was screaming instead of singing, the way the props were put on stage was very distracting, the stage wasnt that good, and they didnt have any British accents like they should have. I could continue with the problems i saw but those were the main ones.Was so bad i left after the first act because i couldnt stand how terrible the play had been. I dont know if this is how the new producer is or if its just this play.

Great place for theater

Jane Eyre was the least favorite shows I ever saw. The stars voice was screechy and so loud. I literally had to block my ears. I wonder: Does anyone from production actually sit in the audience and experience the shows from the audiences point?

Great show. The singing and dancing were exceptional.

Beauty and the Beast was terrific. Cast was phenomenal. Great first year Chris Brady. Love Starlight Theater.

Went to see Shrek play it was wonderful, every one was great.

Weve attended several plays here. The sound system isnt great as its sometimes difficult to hear actors, but Im sure that managing sound in an outdoor theater is a difficult endeavor. The productions certainly arent up to Broadway standards, but not too shabby for a local community theater. Glad to have this option available in Rockford.
