Fun History and Great Food.Camp Grant is one of my favorite places to go. Its a great place to eat and visit with your people. The museum is always growing with new donations. Tours are available. Call and make your reservation. You will enjoy the experience.

Family owned , because of covid19 , the owner has decided to change her future here which includes her restaurant. She has posted her decisions and why on web site. Please check this out. slightly out of the way , freshly cooked to order food. Good menu with a quaint breakfast buffet Saturday mornings. Take time to actually visit the military museum. Its amazing. They have started with the next faze to include the Viet Nam era. The staff will always welcome contributions of memorabilia and / or. cash. Remember the restaurant is closed Sundays and Mondays.

Another hidden gem tucked away in northern, IL in Rockford. Museum was outstanding, with many artifacts, and many pictures of world war one, and world war two. It had the History of Rockford with many Pictures of the area, and aerial photos of many sections of the area for the Largest Camp in America of its time its hard to believe its gone besides the airport. The building is a bit rundown, but dont think it is not worth seeing. The wealth of history in this hidden gem is worth it. the food was great as well. (Biscuits & gravey ) were outstanding, and I am particular about my biscuits.
