This is a great hike it goes on for a very long time so if you want to finish the hike it would probably take a couple days

Ive hiked many miles over many years from the Whites Creek trailhead. I frequently hiked along the creek to the boundary of the Mt Rose Wilderness area. That resulted in about 4 miles round trip. Continuing from there is the Jones-Whites loop which is about 10 miles.Another trail connects to Dry Pond and further on to the Thomas Creek trail, which then loops back to the Whites trailhead.The trails are active with hikers, dogs, mountain bikes and some equestrian traffic.Forest Service closes the gate to vehicle access from November thru April.BTW, The listing shows Museum. There is NO Museum. Only a parking area, toilet, and some picnic tables.

Peaceful getaway from the chaos

A nice hike with the family. You can make it any length that works for you or your group. 2 miles out and back, 6 mile loop, 9 mile loop, anything in between... Bring water and be prepared for other hikers and mountain bikers. This is a busy trail.

The dry lake bed actually has water. Scenic hiking route thats always enjoyable.
