Its absolutely beautiful. 1.7 miles to the dam, great walk.

One of my most fav places in Raleigh! We go at least once a week. Fun place and great exercise.

Always an awesome time. We usually bike on the Neuse Trail, earlier the better for biking.

We literally hiked around this visitor center from one side of the hiking trails down to the water and around... Never been inside actually.. very cool area to visit for walking hanging out and just enjoying a little fishing on the lake.. there is a play ground for the little kids and a dam that you can walk across and take in all the views of the entire thing.. I have seen some people bring their drones out and fly them over the water. I went here for the eclipse as well.. peaceful. Enjoy!!

My favorite place to get exercise and walk the trails. Absolutely beautiful everywhere. Five minutes from home. Beware the fast bikers though, if on foot. I was hit from behind right at the river drop off, and I was off to the side with my husband and others, standing still, wearing red. Needed an ambulance... Really wish a bike speed limit was posted...

Wish the gates were open more but otherwise awesome park, take some time and go check out the visitor center

This is a beautiful, peaceful, accessible place you can use as a convenient base of operations for exploring the lake, either through the exhibits and info in the Visitors Center or via the walking, biking and hiking trails. Plus, the restrooms are always very clean :)

I like this area but wish that gate were open longer in the evenings when sunset permits, and the weekends, so we can get kayaks down by the dam! The parking lot by the street was totally packed yesterday on Sunday.

Everyone was so helpful, from thevwitty security guard to the attendants and guides. Everyone seemed to live their jobs and it showed. Thank you all for being awesome.
