As I sit and wonder how to convey this, I would say that this park is very considerable if in the Raleigh area and looking for so outside activities! It not the biggest park but if you are looking to hit a baseball around or go for a run or swim, youve come to the right spot.The park does have accomodations for picnic type events and other outdoor gatherings in the entrance area. Its hard to miss the entrance since there is not much around the park but it does have a very removed from the city feel to it.JBK

Nice and big, not too crowded in the morning. Happy to see the track is an actual track not one of those gravel circles that defeats the purpose.

I absolutely LOVE the dog park they have there. My dog has so much fun when ever I bring her. Its well kept and there are always other people there with there dogs.

As a nearby Resident of the area, I absolutely love Buffalo Road park. Me and my pup Cheech love the walking trails on a sunny day

Nice dog park in back. We we t to walk on the connected Nuse River trail. Easy parking. Nice track. Havent checked out the aquatic building.

I agree with the review below that they close the track so “certain people” aren’t allowed to get in. Meaning *PEOPLE OF COLOR* There is no reason for this track to be closed. There is so much room for more than enough social distancing! I have seen my Caucasian brothers and sisters hop the fence with no problem and no issue but the first time a PERSON OF COLOR does it’s a problem! If there are to many people of color together it magically closes! The reviewer was just nicer about the way she said it below. It’s the truth! What is the REAL reason you’re closing the track? There’s no riff raff! There’s no craziness, just people trying to get out the house and get some exercise and let there kids gets some air as well! God forbid people are actually using it for what it was intended for. Honestly, you should be ashamed of yourselves!

Since the pandemic, this park pick and choose when to enforce rules and WHO the rules are for . Due to COVID the track has been closed, which I understand and agree with it. However, last week they opened the track and now it’s closed again. I don’t understand the reason due to numerous people jump the fence to workout/run on the track anyway but I’ve seen employees come out to tell “certain people” they have to get off. Now they have new signs up throughout the park stating you’re not allowed on the bleachers. What’s next? No drinking water?

I run a couple times per week on the track toward the back of the park. GPS says its actually a bit longer than 400m but its in excellent shape for a public running track.

Its a great place for walking. I also like the idea of being able to teach my grandson how to drive.

This is a place very nice, very good for do exercise and walk, is bigger and is in calm around, I like this place, its very good for me.

Nice little park if you have kids. There is a playground and sand box area, as well as, a large grass area to around.

Extremely disappointed that this huge park with plenty of space could not provide basketball courts for the b-ball players. I’m seeing a pattern out here in NC with the public parks, no hoops means less blacks maybe...If you want to play baseball.... there’s plenty of fields. Smh

Excellent walking and biking trail, also has an aquatic center. It is a great place not too far outside of town for exercise and leisure.

Fantastic Park. Not much more to say.The connection to the Neuse River Trail is incredibly convenient and the parking outside the gate is a life-saver.

Definitely needs more trash cans. Also why would there be wood chips on the ground for dogs to run and play on? Ask yourself, “Would i want to run on hard pointy wood chips?”

Great for walking and bike riding , extreemly clean trails, there is a dig area and aquatic center here . Great for family outing .

We have passes to the pool and my grandson loves it. I like that it is inside so no pesky sun screen to mess with. Then we go to playground to climb and play. We enjoy our time there.

I love this park great scenery for kids and its a good place work out. Ensure u bring some water and tunes.

This park has a few great features including a nice playground area (next to restrooms), an open space multi-purpose field surrounded by a 1/4 mile track, several baseball fields, and an aquatic center. The only negative about the park is that they keep the baseball fields locked up. So dont go expecting to bat a few balls around. Another drawback to the park is there are only a couple picnic tables next to the playground. There are no other tables in the park. The best feature, and probably least used, is the access to the Greenway. You can find this access near the aquatic center.

A great place for ethl ethics and just to walk around. It has access to several pokemon go gyms and is a pretty good place to play that game.

Quiet, pretty clean, good athletic areas

A really nice park. We were here for a softball tournament. Not a lot of shade around the ballfields. It was well-maintained with nice indoor bathrooms. The park staff responded quickly to any problems.

You must run this track, and the bathrooms are just a couple of steps away. And the indoor water park especially the giant water slide will keep even the adults happy. Just a couple of dollars makes this one of the best affordable staycations ever!

Come here often for baseball games, I park by the gravel lot due to the proximity of the field, but everything else always looks so clean. The only thing is is that if you park in the gravel Parkway near the backfield, you do smell the Port-a-potty

The fields were great but FAR TOO CLOSE TOGETHER so foul balls would consistently fly to other fields in play or worse, hit fans watching another game. Really dangerous design but the fields were in good shape.

There is no place to buy drinks, water, snacks etc so bring you own. Bring tp also because they dont refill. Bathroom is not clean and far, far away if at all. They have a portable John, ladies dont use!!! It is NASTY!!!

Plenty of sidewalk/track/Greenway adjacent for walking/biking. 2 clean public restrooms. Ball fields. Small playground. Lovely landscaping. Fairly new dog park by the (not free but really great) year-round indoor athletic park.

Restrooms and water fountains worked, theres ample parking and lots of natural views.

Good place to park car and get one Nuese rive bike trail

This is a nice park with multiple sport fields but you can tell it wasnt designed with tournaments in mind. Parking is insufficient, bathrooms are not convenient, concessions are non existent.Good for local weekly leagues.

Very nice park, I use the running track occasionally. The track needs a little surface painting, but it drains well even in the rain.

The field is awesome. Played Special Olympics softball. Were having a great time all year long.

This is a great athletic park, playground and pool! They have a play ground area, several baseball/softball fields and an awesome indoor swimming pool! My kids love the pool and enjoy the playground as well. Its a nice place to spend time with the family that doesnt cost anything, except to swim there is a small fee.

This park is incredibly well maintained. It is connected to the neuse river Greenway and is a good place to park and walk. They have a lovely dog park that has a good bit of shade.

Great park with almost everything...only thing missing was a basketball court. But the park is so big, maybe I just didnt find it.

Great Park with baseball fields and a walking / running course.it has organized sports activities as well as areas for smaller children to play.

Facilities are great but seems to be pretty much guaranteed someone in your party will have their vehicle will be broken into if you are out of sight.

The Neuse river trail is awesome, the quarter mile running is also very nice

Here is a tip: the Neuse River bike path goes right past here so bike in. It is a surprisingly large and diverse park with tracks and several fields, as well as an aquatic center... that I have never actually seen since it is a ways back. But a great place to get in some exercise.

Cool place came for a softball tournament nice and clean w/CLEAN bathrooms for the win. I want to come and check out the pool soon.

Buffaloe Athletic park is probably my favorite park in the area. It is very runner friendly in that it connects with the neuse river trail (park near the track) and has a regulation track. To top it off, the park is tidy and well looked after.

Best parks and rec center in Raleigh. Great baseball fields (4) with ball designs in sidewalk. Soccer field with track. Childrens playground with restrooms. Covered picnic shelter. Huge indoor aquatic center with giant tube water slide. Access to most beautiful section of Greenway trail along Neuse River.

The food is good. They work fast and the place is clean. Is very busy as well. The parking lot is very busy and small, is a bit difficult to get in and out. Overall its a good place.

Such a great collection of facilities. And never very crowded. A large playground for the kids. Many baseball fields through the entire park. A track good for running laps and always open. Nice field inside of the track for pickup soccer or football games. Trails all over the park. Not so much a pool as an indoor collection of water elements including a whirlpool, laps, volleyball, waterslide, and more ($). And the. A direct Greenway connection to the Neuse River Trail.

Located in a lovely area. I walked the outdoor track while I saw people on the softball field and riding bikes. It was relaxing!

A little on the small side, we enjoyed the swings while my child was a toddler, hes getting s little big for them now. Its a great park for small children!

The outside park is really great, but avoid the pool. They can make you wait over 2 hours just to get in. They have no management system to make things fair on busy days, just an unfair first come first serve system. The people in the pool can stay as long as they want, while those waiting just sit outside in the hot sun until they call your name.

Great facility but short staffed. Plan ahead.
