My daughter LOVES everything about this musical theater production program from the casting to the rehearsals all the way to the final performances. The directors know their craft and are truly passionate about youth theater education. They work hard to give the students a real theatrical experience (vocal, dance, and acting coaching; lights, sets, beautiful costumes) and to create a caring ensemble of actors. The performances are very polished and the children clearly take pride in their accomplishments. I can’t recommend it enough!

My daughter started at DRMT in the fall and loved it! She loved going to practice each week. I was blown away by how professional the production was done. From the costumes to the musical numbers, everything was amazing. This was an awesome introduction to theatre for my daughter! She’ll definitely be going back again.

Both of my children have done multiple camps at Durant Road Musical Theater and have loved every experience. Debbie and Dean, the owners, are professional, yet, extremely accessible. The theater is obvious a labor of love and it shows. Highly, highly recommend.

I cant say enough good things about this theatre. Mrs. Debbie and Mr. Dean are truly the best. Not only do they provide top-notch instruction and put on darling performances, but they do it in such a loving and safe environment. They truly care about each of these kids, and they continually challenge them and encourage them to become their best, both on and off the stage. My daughter has taken workshops at DRMT for the past 4 years, and I have seen her confidence multiply with each production. This theatre is her happy place, and she looks to Mr. Dean and Mrs. Debbie as mentors and examples in so many ways.

We love DRMT and my kids have benefited greatly from their experiences here. Debbie is top notch and has instilled so much confidence in my daughters. Every production/rehearsal/event- you can always count on Dean & Debbie giving 100%!

I have tried many different theaters, and this one is by far my favorite! Mr. Dean has helped my voice sound a LOT better. Mrs. Debbie has helped me grow as an actress sooo much. We are all a huge family! Your children would love it!

From the vocal performances, the AMAZING costumes, the overall stage productions and, of course, the cast parties - DRMT is truly dedicated to the growth of each student. The best part is the bond and support the students have with/for each other - DRMT quickly feels like a second family! Both of my daughters LOVE it here!

My son has enjoyed learning and performing at Durant Road Musical Theater. They do a great job teaching the children about performing arts, while building self esteem.

I’ve been with Durant Road Musical Theatre for almost three years now. Through the mentor-ship and coaching of Miss Debbie and Mr. Dean, I’ve not only grown as an actress, but as a person. Debbie and Dean are always very encouraging and enthusiastic. Rehearsal is always a pleasure, and the final product is worth the work. The costumes are ornate and high quality as well as designed to perfectly fit the setting of the show. Additionally, I owe finding my passion to Durant Road Musical Theatre. The DRMT experience has created many wonderful friends and memories, and I can’t wait for the next two years there.

Absolutely wonderful! This is a great theatre ran by two good friends of mine, Debbie and Dean. They work wonderfully with their casts. The costumes are realistic and the sets look stunning. The environment is extremely friendly and the experience is great!

I love DRMT so much! Everyone is in such an amazing theatre family and there is nothing I look forward to doing more than going to rehearsal! Ms.Debbie, Mr.Dean, and LT. Commander are all such amazing people and mentors. I love DRMT!

Both of my girls started at drmt about 5 years ago. This environment has been enriching for them both in developing their theatrical skills bit also ,and most importantly, in their personal development. Debbie and Dean are both personally invested in the children as people. Their skill at teaching in the theatricalarts is amazing. They truly care about the children and teens under their care . They work extremely hard and are very dedicated. Awesome place, awesome people, awesome environment.

Worth the cost? Ill list some pros and cons of Durant road musical theatre.Pros-•Mrs. Debbie is super friendly and caring.•You dont have to be a good actor to go here•Dances are fun to learnCons-• Mr. Dean isnt the most cuddly person there is. Very strict and doesnt take NO as an answer•very small place. When watching a show you feel as if your bound to be trampled by the actors•awkward mess ups; kids obviously arent really taught what to do during a mess up leading to awkward long pauses and silence momentsMORE PROS-•Well detailed costumes•funny showsMORE CONS-•many costumes dont seem to fit the afters very week•many parts given dont fit the actor well•some people are phenomenal on stage until they open their mouths and the painful part beginsAll in all a 4 star rate. Still a good place if you make it out to be one. Shows usually start late and lobby is very hot. Would like a bigger space and better seating. Btw dont recommend the 2 week summer camps. They lead to the most mess ups

I would give ZERO stars if that was possible. Durant Road Musical Theater has treated my daughter unfairly. They cut her part from a production because of a school field trip when other children missing rehearsal for the same trip did not get cut. Not only was the part a very minimal part,, but they are demanding that school come second. And to top it off, they will not refund my money. Please do not send your children here. Debbie and Dean are rude and passive aggressive. I have personally found it very difficult to deal with them. The customer service is absolutely abhorrent. My daughter missed 2 rehearsals in an entire year and they cut her part. Ridiculous. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

Durant Road Musical Theatre has provided me with the most phomenomal experiences of my life. Ive been a student there for about 5 years and everyday I learn something new. Miss Debbie does a wonderful job with not only putting in amazing productions, but really teaching her students what it means to be in musical theatre. She has helped me learn and grow as an actor, performer, and person. The enviornment there is so welcoming and friendly and everyone knows eachother. Theres never a dull day in that theatre, you are always singing, dancing and learning. Miss Debbie and Mr. Dean have created such a warm loving environment I feel so blessed to be a part of. Their dedication to helping their students is absolutely extraordinary and they will stop at nothing to see each and every one of them succeed. I honestly dont know where I would be without this theatre. It creates endless amounts of fun, happiness, and joy. From an actress point of view, I would definitely recommend Durant Road as your next theatre destination. Youll meet wonderful people, learn so many new things, and have the time of your life!
