Nice place to bring some food or a grill and brews and have a day of relaxation, seems like not too many people know about this beach so it never really gets that crowded... maybe i shouldnt post this to keep its secrecy jk but people typically swim here, go fishing, jet skiing, whatever. Best part is when the tide is low, you can grab up some clams, mussels, oyster, etc.

I really love going here because of Squaw Rock Park and the fact that at low tide a sandbar appears that connects this peninsula to Thompson Island if only for a few hours. Plus it seems to be less frequented than other beaches in the area and these days that is a wonderful thing.

Squaw rock is terrific for bringing kids and checking out tide pools.

Cool place for dogs but beware of a really nosey woman who spies on dog owners. We call her the dog poop patrol.

Quite nice and Calm place. Better visit late evening and then see city lights sitting on stones nearby a wrecked watch tower. Not that great as a beach but quite wonderful for evening walk or romantic sitting and admiring sea.A small hike is also there.

Isolated and lots of walking space. It does take a little effort to get down to the beach, but I think thats what makes it so special. Tons of purple shards and sea glass to pick through, too!

This is the place with ocean rocks closest to Boston. Its not a bad spot, with some interesting angle slate geology in a few places. A sunset photo works okay here, but its probably better for sunrise. I give this 3 stars, but keep in mind that anything else within this range of Boston would be 2 stars, if not 1.

Astonishing a place so sea-sidey could be so close to the metropolis that is Boston. Thoroughly charming.

I love coming to Nickerson bech to explore and look for sea glass. But I wish people would clean up the huge mess that is constantly being swept up there. I know Long Island is not being utilized, but this unsung beach is suffering.

A magical spot, a hideaway for teens that was used by Scorsese for his movie Shutter Island, this spot is reminiscent of Mont St. Michel with its sandbar island causeway and has majestic views of Boston.

There is a short walking path to the beach which is a small cliff overlooking the Bay. There is also a short, steep path that goes up a hill and then down to the aforementioned cliff.

It is the beauty and the serenity of the place that is enjoyable, juxtaposed against the backdrop of the Boston skyline views.

Lots of rocks! Great for hiking and exploring . i do not recommend kids.. Too dangerous.

Interesting location for photography, not your typical beach or waterfront park, a bit off the beaten path and also off- average. Some ruins to explore there.

I dont know where the entrance of the beach is, if theres one at all. I actually slid down a hill, flew through the woods, and landed myself onto the beach, lol. The beach is rocky. Dead seashells, seaweed and other mysterious objects are everywhere. Its super quiet --I went in a warm summer day and there was no other human being in sight the entire time. It was a bit spooky indeed. I dont suggest going there by yourself, well, unless you need some serious alone time for self-reflection or meditation of sorts. :)
