Laurelhurst Park is big enough to feel like a city park rather than a neighborhood park. Covered by trees and featuring a lake view, its ideal for taking a long stroll, picnicking with friends, or playing around with kids . There is lots of lawn space and benches, it feels so chill! The location is very nice too, with many coffee shops and restaurants just a few blocks away, it would be quite easy to spend a Saturday afternoon in the neighborhood.

This is a great park for family outings. With its large pond and walking/biking paths youll find its more than enough space to social distance. Theres also plenty of grassy areas for a picnic.

This was a Fun park to hangout in. Lots of trees that give cover for when it is rainy. Wide pathways to walk throughout the park. Lots of picnic tables to sit at and enjoy a fun lunch under the pretty trees. Quite spot to relax. Also has a fun play ground area for the kids to play at.

I grew up in Portland. Laurelhurst Park was one of the most beautiful parks in the city. I also attended dance classes here. Now the park is ringed with a homeless camps. Im not unsympathetic to the issue of homelessness, and believe that federal, state and loc governments need a comprehensive plan. Did not feel comfortable going into the park. I met friends there to do a socially distanced lunch and hand off something being borrowed. We ended up sitting a block away from the park.

Really beautiful park, but way too close to a lot of chaos that if Cesar Chavez St., homeless dwellings surrounding the park, and sometimes park goers playing their personal speakers louder than necessary. Bottom line, if you want to go on a date, or to a park thats tranquil and serene, Laurelhurst is best in the early morning or late evening for most mellow vibes. Really beautiful park, but pick your visiting times wisely.

Beautiful park. Many people randomly at Laurelhurst park. First time I been there since covid-19. Had to take pictures of all the people here. Its the most I seen gathered since our stay home order. Weird huh. The park has a nice sized lake for being in the city. A basketball court and lots of room to walk around.

Favorite park on the east side hands down. Amazing spot for everyone. Great dog areas too, and plenty of room shaded and unshaded for hanging out whatever the occasion. Sunbathing, cycling, jogging, and picnics reign supreme here. Even horseshoe tossing and tennis areas! Def recommended to everyone who loves being outside.

The park is gorgeous and there is plenty of space to relax, let your dogs run off-leash (its okay to let your dogs off leash here) and hike small trails. If youre not a dog person or easily startled by them though just be aware that it is labeled as an off-leash area and some dogs, not all, may not be the most well mannered in that type of environment. :pAlso, as long as you ignore the rather large homeless encampment along the bordering area of this park, its a very nice place.

Weve enjoyed coming to Laurelhurst Park for years. The playground is great. The duck pond is nice for a casual stroll. The dog park is great for dogs and their people. You should know that the dog park doesnt have fencing, so dogs on leashes do walk by on the paths that line the off leash area. Also, if youre in the bigger section of the park where the duck pond is, the playground area is across the street to the south.

On a clouded-over but warmly comfortable Covid Thursday afternoon, the park was nicely attended by families of young children, couples, and pairs of friends, all observing appropriate social distance. The ducks were enjoying themselves, squirrels and Stellar jays were doing their thing, and the old trees stood watching. I liked walking the path around the pond and trying to tell the Doug-firs from the coast redwoods, and admiring the English yews.

An absolute gem of a park and one of Portlands best (And as one of the most park packed cities in America thats saying a lot). Laurelhurst Park is stunning with towering evergreens, rolling grassy hills, winding paths, and of course, the duck pond. I was a bit disappointed in the condition of the pond on my last visit but I believe it may be due to the intense heat we have been experiencing lately. The park has lots of recreation opportunities and even features tai chi classes and a dance studio.
