This place is so nice. Theyre always doing something here decorating it for every single holiday that there is. The walkways are wooden, even the benches are wooden. They have a public restroom. Theres also like a water display. Theres a bunch of nice stores around there that you can go to while youre there checking out the park.

This Portland spot is gorgeous. More so during the summer when the water is turned on and the families are outside. Portland has worked hard to clean up its downtown area. Hopefully, as they continue to clean they also take into consideration the need for WARM shelter this winter

Little urban park in the Pearl district. Feels a little deserted every time I pass by despite being in a really nice and lively neighborhood. There are no kids playing, no people reading, leaving the stairs and benches empty. Maybe it’s because of the current pandemic.

Great place to relax in the city. If it werent for CoVid 19, it would be full of children playing in the super cool water fountain. Since the water is off it still offers places to sit on the stones of the fountain. The stacked stones not only offer seating and climbing for little ones, but its a wall on the back side, dividing the park in half. There are plenty of trees offering shade and several benches spread throughout the park to sit.Im adding photos Ive taken in the past. Oddly none while Im sitting in the park.

One of the things I love about living in Portland is that you can’t throw a rock - nor *should* you - without hitting a park. With so many neighborhood parks, you might think they’d all just be cookie cutter affairs. But, no. And Jamison is as unique as all the others, while adding something that is more rare than you’d think: water. The fountain at the city block shaped park draws kids and their families all summer long. During the winter holidays, that fountain gives way to a Christmas tree. And I just love the boardwalk style sidewalk that starts here and goes all the way down through the Tanner Spring Park a few blocks further north.

Its was a small and cute area with grass for picnicking, water for kids (and adults) to play, and lots of benches to sit. Nothing very amazing about it but if youre looking to stay in that area and need a place to relax outdoors for free, this could be your answer.

In the midst of a very busy downtown, you may find a quaint little water park for kids to enjoy! I love taking my daughter here and the atmosphere that surrounds the area. After playing in the water for a good hour or two, the perfect way to end the trip is to go across the street to the ice cream place! But beware: there may be an occasional homeless person. Not to mention the public bathroom here is locked most of the time - but if you do need to go I’d recommend going to the Starbucks down the street.

I spent a peaceful, still hour, or so, here after a very important job interview. It was perfect place to decompress. The fountain area was full of small children playing in the waters of the fountains. People walking their dogs & couples strolling by holding hands. Other people, like myself, sitting in quiet contemplation. The weather was beautiful & nobody approached me asking for cigarettes, or spare change. The park edges form a ring covered in leafy green trees, plenty of benches & lots to look at, as many walk through on their way to wherever.

Jamison Square is one of, if not my favorite park to visit in the Portland area. In the summer time, the center of the park becomes an awesome waterfall for the young and old to frolic in. During the winter months, specifically during Christmastime, they showcase a giant Christmas tree and a soundsystem plays Christmas jingles and Christmas carols. Theres also occasionally roving carolers in the park. This is definitely a safe, awesome place for young and old to enjoy the outdoors in the Pearl District!

Jamison Square is the quintessential summer hang out spot to kill an afternoon with kids. Bring your towels and a picnic if you like, and a blanket or some camp chairs, and let your kids splash in the fountain while you relax with some water and a good read. There used to be folding chairs available for public use, but as of this writing, they appear to be gone. Jamison is still the perfect place to be on a hot summer day. When the kids are tuckered out, revive them with some ice cream from across the street at Cool Moon. Numerous cafes, restaurants, and coffee shops are a short walk away.

My daughter suggested Bastille Day, which was hosted at Jamison Square. Firstly, the waffles were to die for. I have never had such high quality waffles before. The price was decent as well. Homemade vegetarian baguette sandwiches, yum!! (albeit a bit pricey) Live French music, families playing in the water, sunshine. The only beverages offered were wine and spritzer water. That was a bummer as I dont drink alcohol and I wanted plain ol water. Small issue for myself. I always carry my own water, but I can see how this would be an issue for others. Added bonus, a most handsome French man. Seriously, the most gorgeous man youve ever seen. You could take pictures with him for a fee. I passed on that, but definitely noticed he was gorgeous. Lots of women gawking, lol. All in all, it was a good time.

Its nice to see that Jamison Square is still the same family-friendly, seasonal water fountain/kiddie-splash park. BUT, the homeless seem to take over after 5:00/6-ish. We used to bring our children here when they were all quite young. The water comes up high enough (or gets deep enough) for the littles in diapers & young ones to pretend to be in a pool, even if they have to crouch down a little to do it. What ruined our revisit to Jamison was that a few homeless (drug-addicted looking-types) showed up after 5 or 6. One began to disrobe and wash himself, his clothes, etc., RIGHT THERE. Smh (*sigh*). So, we hurried and grabbed our young ones & our not-so-young ones and high-tailed it outta there. It was inappropriate and gross. I mean, the water is chlorinated, so it helps me block out the gross-factor that the water is shared with saggy/soggy diaper-wearing babies (some of mine used to be one of them), whose potty-business, Im certain, leaks into the pooling water. BUT, you have to draw the line somewhere. Would you stay in a swimming pool if a visibly dirty person, in dirty clothes, showed up and jumped in? So, thats Jamison Square nowadays. You take your chances, but we wont be back.

Great experience, especially on hot summer days. We rarely have many of those in Portland, but for those suffocatingly hot days its a Godsend. Cool clean water from the beautiful rock slab water feature spring forth every few minutes, and its a favorite local watering hole for fun and refreshment in the Pearl District, close to downtown Portland.Make sure your offspring wears water-friendly shoes/slippers. The hygiene conditions are suspect at best especially on hot days with so many folks. There are terrific and inexpensive food and treats available within blocks. Its one of Portlands best spots for kids on the cheap.

Great other than like all other public parks in Oregon. Gotta worry about some of the folks living in and around there. the bathroom is often occupied by a junky. There is often people smoking various smokable things with no consideration for who is around. Ive only been verbally assaulted by a woman once while I was playing with my daughter in the water. Very strange and upsetting encounter. But like I said youll get this anywhere in Portland now. Overall its a fun little park for the littles on a hot summer day.

Jamison Square provides an oasis in Portlands Pearl District (which is already pretty darn nice). Essentially a city block, the Square is bordered on three sides by streets and the fourth by a condo tower. At its heart, the Square features an awesome fountain that spills out of a tiered stone sitting wall that forms a splashing pool, usually occupied in summer by forty to sixty kids and parents. A bocce court, grassy sitting area, several trees, and public art complete the Square. Very family friendly, and look for the ice cream shop across the street. Very clean and safe, but no fences separate the kids from the street so parents need to be vigilant. An awesome family friendly location!
