Have been coming here since I started at PSU in 2018. The equipment is great and Love all the staff there! Except there is a new trainer (female) who is usually shirtless when she’s with male clients (in a sports bra) or wears crop tops and it just seems to be inappropriate especially in a professional setting. I get it’s a gym which is totally fine when you’re by yourself or with friends. But the other trainers or workers don’t dress like that and it kind of just gives visitors/members and other staff a bad vibe or image.

Solid campus rec center! If youre good to the staff, theyll be good to you. I think my only complaint is that the climbing gym is so small, and that the equipment is so run down. I ended up buying climbing shoes as a beginner because the only rentable pair my size has gaping holes in both of the toes (rendering them almost useless, ha).Other than those small things, its a great rec center. The outdoor program is phenomenal and you can rent stuff for super cheap which is great.

Nice facilities and I would say that most of the staff are nice. However I agree with the comment that a few are snarky.

If youre a PSU student, I recommend taking advantage of this place, especially the climbing gym. All the people there are super friendly and helpful.

Decent gym if you happen to be on campus. The pool is big and awesome. Sadly, its missing a lot of things:- Equipment are lacking if you are into bodybuilding. Its missing a lot of machines/equipment that target serious lifters, even when you compare it to a traditional gym like 24 hour fitness- No Sauna or steam room?! Come on!- The lockers in the changing rooms are a joke. I cant even fit my backpack, let alone my helmet or any school stuff. So I have to work out and drag my stuff around the machines.- While bench pressing one day, an employee asked me to put sleeves on my barbell if I need to continue using the gym. This was the first time anyone has asked me to do this in my 16 years of lifting weights. Obviously he doesnt lift.Other than those couple things its not a bad gym for the average person. I like that you can charge your phone for free at the service desk while youre working out.

I’ve never been to a proper gym until I started going to PSU, so I think it’s really great! Many machines and different activities to participate in. The staff are always friendly when I come in and I never feel like I’m being judged or anything.

Good gym with good facilities. There are a wide variety of different machines for your workout, and the pool is great too. The one downside is that the staff are student part-timers, so dont expect anybody to be super knowledgeable.

As campus gyms go, this one is pretty excellent. Even better, they have a ton of classes available to students and staff which is fantastic. Their outdoor program is also phenomenal. Knowledge staff that run really fantastic trips to the backcountry, and tons of gear for rent at prices that cant be beat if you want to do your own thing. The climbing gym is on the smaller side but with great routes and lots of options. Its also worth checking out the pool which is quite large.

Great equipment, modern building, a full schedule of exercise classes, and a great price for alumni passes. I enjoy climbing, and doing yoga here. Sometimes the staff isnt wildly knowledgeable, but theres always someone there who can figure out how to get things done.

I went in yesterday to ask about signing up for a class/info on a class. The two guys that were in the welcome office were far from welcoming. It made me reconsider going to PSU. If this is how their staff is, it might not be a good idea to have this as your 1st PSU experience. Very snarky and condescending remarks and attitudes do not belong in the welcoming department.

Way too crowded for kettlebells upstairs. They suggested I show up at 6am or right before closing.

The best part of this gym is the view from the pool. Thats right the pool has a view!! The rest of the gym is nice too. Very clean lots of equipment. Sadly it will get really busy as more students use it, but for now its great.

Hours of operation are too less. If you cant open it, why have it ? May as well close it forever. Cant think of any reasons for closing so early on Friday and Saturday. Worst campus gym ever.

Good gym, you can usually use what you want; however, during the afternoon (maybe just during the winter) the whole south side is rendered virtually useless by the sun shining directly into, arguably maliciously attacking, your eyeballs.

Overcrowded, if Im going to be forced to pay for this gym I shouldnt have to wait around for squat racks. Kind of scummy way for psu to make money.

Disclaimer: I might be slightly biased because I work there. That being said, this is truly an incredible space for recreation, social connections, and various other activities (we have a little lounge for studying on the second floor).

Where’s the sauna and steam room??! Also, the gym should really extend its hours of operation.
