I cannot eat gluten, which has been a sad departure from an amazing experience I once knew as Pizza. I was in town for work and happened to stop by 1905. Not only did I end up with a delicious 1905 manhattan, my gluten free roasted vegetable pizza was AMAZING! Gluten free is difficult, and honestly, a let down most of the time. This, however was a pleasant surprise. The texture was perfect with that classic bite back of standard gluten. Best of all, the consistency was STILL GOOD A DAY LATER -Even cold! Kudos to you and your team for producing a legit gluten free option. Thank you

The basil aoli fries are very good. The Italian sausage pizza is as well. The place and staff are nice. We went at 4:45pm, so hey had just opened. We were the only customers there, no live music until 8pm. Will definitely be going back for the food and live music sometime. Prices are fair.

The pizza, roasted vegies, and the service were outstanding. We also enjoyed three different kinds of beers. We will definitely be back!

This is about the first place Ive been to that focuses on a jazz style ish environment. Really good atmosphere. A little pricier but well worth it. Good people and great music. When I went it was quite popular. The food was good and the drinks where satisfying. I went here during Pizza week. They had a vegan pizza but it was still quite amazing.

Amazing live music for a $5 cover. The pizza is decent. The drinks seemed strong and herbaceous to me, I was very happy with them.The service was a bit slow but friendly. Would definitely come back, especially on a Jazz night. Street parking.

Got delivery from here via Postmates. Unfortunately didnt get a chance to try the food because it was so cold and 3 hours late by the time I got it. 1905 needs to consider dropping Postmates as a delivery partner.Note: Postmates refused to refund me for their error. This is their company policy according to postmates support. Never Order From Postmates!

We just ordered them from DoorDash and the pizza was burnt completely black on the bottom making it inedible.

A classy Jazz club with good selection of alcohol, food, and helpful servers who are always willing to accommodate large crowds. The vibes are super chill and the musicians played amazingly well. Our table had a large crowd of people but the workers were very accommodating, and we tried different kinds of cocktails all of which tasted delicious. It was a nice Friday night out and I think I will definitely return here. I highly recommend trying the pesto pasta and margarita. Or maybe you can just sit here with a beer and enjoy the live music. Visitors here take their jazz seriously and the band belted out one classic after another. A must visit if you are in the area.

I ordered a pizza and some garlic knots to go and when they were delivered the box was cold. But regardless i was still excited, because the pizza sounded so delicious. I ordered the hot Italian sausage pizza. When I opened the box and picked up a slice of pizza it immediately drooped down into a pile of sog. The pizza was ridiculously soggy. So disappointing. Couldnt even really eat it. The flavors were pretty good but the soggyness was just too much. Garlic knots were pretty good though. Thats why it gets 2 stars.

DeeeeeeLICOUS crust, bread, sauces.Great staff and the owner is a genuine soul. Lots of establishment improvements in progress. Can’t wait until the patio is open and the music starts. Definitely call and see if fresh bread is ready in the morning (they were ‘testing’ out offering it as a regular thing) ... there’s nothing like waking up to fresh baguettes, jam and espresso ...Oh annnnd they prepare their crust the ‘real way’ (so gluten gets digested and broken down before it hits our digestion) The only reason I even know this is because Aaron explained their process.

Went to watch PCJE and the band did not disappoint. The venue itself was nice; cute little patio outside, the acoustics in the room were well balanced and not too boomy. It felt a bit crowded inside and the food service was very slow that night. I didnt care for the marinara potatoes. I thought they were a little bitter. Additionally, the fire alarm kept going off during the performance. There was an apology made about the alarm before the bands second set and it was made clear that this wasnt typical of the establishment. All in all, a fun night.

1905 is an upscale pizza joint in northeast. Pizzas come in 12 and 18 and range in price from $12 to $26. With a wide variety from which to choose, its nice that they will split a pie...even with a different sauce base. There are a few wines by the glass or bottle and a nice assortment of beers. The garlic knots are excellent but ask for the sauce to be heated up unless you dont mind cold sauce. Jazz is available on some nights and appears to be typically sold out with reservations even on a Thursday night. Not the best but worth a try.

I love this place! Just know depending on what time you go it can be very very packed. They now charge to enter and honestly its so understandable. A lot of people were coming in and not buying anything or much so the place was struggling. I hope this place stays open forever. The Jazz is the best.

I was there enjoying a show when there was a medical emergency. The venue was quick and efficient in seeking emergency medical care. Nearly as good, the crowd in attendance had a doctor in it, so all worked out well!

Awesome bar! Food was great! Atmosphere was perfect! The Jazz Band was off the chart!! Our mixologist was incredible! Couldnt ask for a better night. It was a packed house for the live band and they killed it. We had the garlic knots and Brussels and they tasted great. We had beer and mixed drinks all night. Parking is scarce so we to a Lyft. Get there early if you want a good table. You can have happy hour too. Cheers!

Good place. Cocktails are solid. It is pretty small , if you are planning on going to get food and watch a band perform, I would definitely either get there early or make a reservation.

I am so happy I went to check this place out for pizza week. It looks so much nicer Im sorry I forgot to take the picture until after I squished the pizza and took a bite out. Great conversation at the bar and I was really impressed with the service staff that dressed up and provided a nice contrast to the normal Portland Grunge. The cheese was divinely put together and cooked the perfect consistency of chewy and stringy. I was also very impressed with the ingredients with edible flowers and what I think was fried Sage.

After looking for something to do on a Friday night, my girlfriend and I decided that we wanted to listen to some live music and settled on The 1905. The setting is very intimate, but fun. The music was great and so were the drinks and food! Although a little pricey, we will be returning as it is well worth it.

Wow is all I can say.I went here on a family outing. We all enjoyed our dishes very much. The pesto eggs benedict is superb. The egg and pesto paired with arugula and light and flaky pastry makes a wonderful combination. The lemon ricotta pancakes are a delicacy. They come with real maple syrup, but that is not needed as the lemon ricotta topping more than satisfies.The outdoor seating is nice. I hope to come back here for breakfast again soon. There was no wait time as this is a little nook in Portland that has yet to be discovered. I am sure that soon it will be busy with lines out on the street just like the adjacent restaurants. I would also like to try out the pizza menu one day.Also a shout out to the very polite and courteous wait staff.

I have visited The 1905 a few times over the years and have always had excellent service and a great experience! The staff is extremely friendly, the food is fantastic, and the nightly events are always enjoyable. I would confidently recommend this place to any of my friends or family. During pizza week is an exceptionally great time to give it a try as they always come up with a uniquely delicious slice. Check this place out if you are looking to have some fun, try some great food, and meet some great people!

Fabulous pizzeria with craft cocktails. This joint is fantastic! Excellent pizza, astute adult beverages, fab decor and groovy music. Parking can be tough but hey. Its Mississippi Street. PRO TIP: The Where Theres Smoke Theres Fire cocktail is bold and flavorful. Best restaurant Ive tried in a while.

The 1905 is more than another bar in the Mississippi neighborhood, it is a water hole for anyone that cares about good food (brunch or dinner), handcrafted cocktails, and good jazz. This place was a miraculous find when I stumbled across it in August, and has me coming back on a weekly basis.Highly recommend for a good, loud night on a weekend, or a fun weeknight of pizza and booze.Keep up the good work!

Great place to eat!

Ordered online because I know they can’t hear the phone since they host live jazz (awesome by the way). The order was delayed twice and when I arrived to pick up, it hadn’t been started yet and half of the order wasn’t even available. This is not the first time I’ve experienced this. The food is never great but usually palatable. This time, however, it seems the pizza was dowsed liberally with what amounts to an entire container of table salt. As I write this, my mouth is so desiccated that I feel as though I just emerged from the foam of a sneaker wave. A salt lick for deer comes to mind. Mostly inedible, soggy from grease and wholly disappointing.

Really fun, awesome and tasteful jazz spot. Will definitely return.

I like this ppace..Id like it more if I could ever get a seat inside. Thats kind of my fault though, Im not a jazz head to spend hours and hours waiting for the main act just so I can have a front row seat. Food is good, drinks are better and the music? Well, its great. I recommend sitting and order from a waiter. The bartenders seem to only really care for pretty girls.

I’ll start off by saying this place has amazing pizza and great potential. Where they lack is their customer service. I’ve gone to eat here now 3 times, and their food takes over an hour to be prepared. Additionally, I’ve tried calling in a pizza order twice, and they never answer their phone. Missing out on business and pisses off customers.

It is such a treat to go listen to great jazz! Impromptu decision to go outside our lane and it was so worth it! Aaron was so accommodating, Holly is so friendly, and lovely, and Ireland was our server and was a doll. I can’t wait for next week! Thank you 1905!

Generally known for their jazz music every night and their great cocktails, they also have a great happy hour. Cheap slices of pizza, reasonable drinks, low key atmosphere. Great place for a quieter drink after work.

Only picked up a to go order.. seemed like a nice, cozy place. But finding a parking space??? Good luck!! That would be the one reason I would not visit again. I dont want to spend 15 minutes finding parking, and then walking 4 blocks..

I wanted to love this place so bad! I was really looking forward to an evening out with music, pizza, cocktails, good conversation, and maybe some dancing. I was disappointed to find that our reserved table was on stage with the band. This made it so our group could not converse. It was so loud but also because the restaurant is very small. Food was ok and the drinks were disappointing. Overall I was thrilled to be going to an upscale 1900s themed restaurant but was greeted by the hostess in a sweatshirt and a small, loud environment.

We ordered online, and took to go, which worked pretty well, I went to the bar and said I had an online order. The mozzarella sticks were excellent! instead of the normal frozen, processed you remember from being a kid, they cut up a mozzarella ball in slices, then bread and fry those. The flavors are much fresher, and the mozzarellas real flavor comes through. The truffle pizza was full of flavor and the crust had a great crunch and chewiness that is really enjoyable. They also have a small stage for live music.

I almost don’t want to post this because I feel like I have found a precious gem! As a native Portlander, I am a foodie and I also enjoy the arts. The 1905 is such a magical combination of both! To top things off (besides the amazing food and music) the service is top notch! Every server I have ever had is very attentive and thoughtful and truly takes the time to take care of us. My glass is never empty. I am a bit hard to impress and this place deserves a shout out! If you are looking for a chill yet classy ambiance, to be entertained and taken care of all at the same time, The 1905 is it.*** On top of that, they have the best pizza comparable to only the most authentic and delicious pizza you might get on the East Coast or in Chicago!

Weve had great experiences at this place before, but last night was pretty bad. The pizza was so burnt the entire underside was blackened. We complained but nothing was ever done, the wait staff said good to know and walked away. Salad and fry portions were much smaller than the last time we went in also. (and no more fingerling potatoes :/). As soon as we finished eating some of the burnt pie, we had our one of our tables taken away leaving our party of 3 sharing a 2 top in a corner bench seat. We were considering getting dessert and another round of drinks but bailed because they pushed us out to make room for the second band and charge another cover. I love the music and concept of this place, but the service and food leave much to be desired.

Did didnt order anything we went for friday night jazz and it was wonderful, but the place was so small.

Beautiful garden spot for brunch in August, and the grapefruit mimosa was so nicely done. But that’s where the goodness ended. The breakfast sandwich arrived with a cold fried egg, the sausage was so undercook as to maybe be a real problem. Bird poop on the table and the wait service was so strained that we were never offered more coffee. The garden beds need love, desperately.The owner told us about they’re making big changes to the menu starting next weekend. I like the concept and environment so much I may give this place another try...

Might be a cool place but walked in during dinner time on a Monday. Didnt appear to be a hostess stand or any signage on how things worked so we sat down. Waited about 10 minutes, no one greeted us or gave us menus. We promptly left right after. Awful service.

Loved it! Great pizza, and several original variations. Must try! They always fill them with ingredients, so much so, that even though the crust is thin, I get full with only 2 slices, when normally Id eat three! (And I consider myself a normal eating person!) They have live jazz concerts the first two Thursdays of every month. And the staff is very friendly, they can even make you cocktail drinks that are not in the menu, so totally worth checking them out!

End of pizza week. I went in after my shift at Sidecar 11 realizing I hadnt eaten all day. I walked in 20mins before close, and got 2 slices of the amazing pizza week special, but also the Oregon Truffle (my favourite). I am a fan of the crust, and the staff. Big thank you! I was starving.
