Worth the money to visit, especially if you are a history buff. Its great for kids too. You get to step back in time and ask questions to actors who are dressed in 17 century wardrobe. Its pretty cool. You learn about pilgrims and the mayflower in school. This is a great way to revisit that subject and leave with sense of going back in time.

Went as a day trip with my boyfriend on Veterans Day. I went as a child during school field trips while he didnt. The park is divided into Patuxet section (Wampanoag tribe) & Plymouth section (English settlers) where you can see buildings from those respective times and practices. We saw a canoe being hollowed out by fire which was super cool. Would definitely recommend as a part of history! I would recommend wearing comfortable shoes as the park is hilly and has some uneven surfaces

Thanksgiving Day dinner with the Plimoth Plantation This year! I was nervous because the Covid 19 has been rising but after talking with one of the staff over the phone, she assure me about the safety measures that This Thanksgiving’s buffet was providing, I felt good about it. Even though we had to sit at different table, due to the a Covid guidelines, it was ok with me. They were sitting a table of 6 at each table. The staff was very pleasant and so helpful. It was a rainy day, and it never felt like it because it was such a calm, and pleasant dinner. The staff wore all safety gloves and mask as they served each person from a distance. I would definitely recommend anyone who is looking for a pleasant dinner at this place during their events! I only wish we bought the dinner with the show before they sold out, BUT maybe next year!:) this ticket price seemed like a lot UNTIL you see everything it comes with.... you can aboard the Mayflower II, the museum, 17th Century English Village, Wampanoag Homesite, and a few animals in a building before the Peabody Pavilion. This was definitely a nice way to spend Thanksgivings this year! 5 stars for this place and I will definitely be back again! I wanted to add that they have a few gift shops to take home some Plymouth memories too with reasonable prices! Enjoy if you plan this trip!

The history... I decided to come here for Thanksgiving. Not only do I like the Plymouth Plantation, the area is really cool. I talked with a few different friendly people in Plymouth and Duxbury. I will be back, for the Thanksgiving Dinner..... All, the staff was great, although...we were the last group of the day, and they were all exhausted, and giddy. Noooo, I think they had things well organized. The traditional Thanksgiving Day dinner, was excellent. I still say (Judith), that the Indian pudding, tastes like pumpkin... ok, squash.

My husband and I stopped here on our way home from the Cape. Im so glad we did. Its such an interesting place. The people at each place we stopped were full of information. They had so much knowledge about the history of the place. They sometimes even spoke to you as if you were back in the 1600s. Really cool. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. I highly recommend stopping here if you have the time. We spent about 3 hours here. You can do it quicker if you dont want to speak with the people there. I recommend you do though.

This is one of my favorite all time museums. The interaction with the people is second to none. The living history brings life in 1628 to a whole different level of understanding. I love, my children love it, and my grandchildren love it. In other words theyre is something here for all ages and level of interest in history. It can be a little overwhelming if you visit at the same time as a school field trip, you just need to be patient and await your turn to ask questions and have some conversations.

Recently renamed Plimoth/Pawtuxet to reflect an increased focus on the indigenous people encountered by the Pilgrims, this is an excellent living museum. It provides a well-developed glimpse into the lives of both the local Native people and the early colonists. Period-costumed staff adhere to character very well and display a solid knowledge of history. While other staff augment this is with interesting information about the colony. The woodland setting is beautiful, the historic villages very authentic, even the gift shops scored high in my esteem, by avoiding the tacky and touristy, and by keeping prices reasonable. The only downside is that the admission is a bit steep (around $35) but it is well worth the cost..

After going many times since I can remember, I can honestly say I will never visit again. It cost $96 to get in for 3 people first of all, secondly there were 2 pilgrims and zero, ZERO, Indigenous people. There was one Teepee set up with bear hide in it, I wouldnt know because you couldnt enter any of the usual areas and of course the fresh bread wasnt happening. Yes, I know covid is a thing, however, perhaps have that reflect on the outrageous ticket price. We couldve walked around Miles Standish for free or paid the same price for Canobi Lake Park.

Its open, you need to wear a mask and keep your distance, but at $32 a person, you may want to wait to go. The interior of the main building is pretty empty, the Wampanoag Village had staff who would tell you the history around their area and were free to answer questions you have. When you get to the English Village things change as you are now dealing with a cast of characters. You need to help them tell you their story. Some are better with this exchange than others but I assure you, no one has the same experience. The first character was really long winded so I excused myself and moved along. Its really interesting to hear the history and place it contextually in a historic environment. If you like chatting up people, this part will be fun for you. If youre expecting them to tell you a story, you may not get as much out of it.

Really cool to see how people lived hundreds of years ago. The people that work there are totally in character, so if you want to talk to them you better be ready to go back to that time in America. For example, I asked to take a picture and he looked at me funny and said what?. I said Id like to take a photo of you. He said, I dont know what your are talking about but you may do what your please.. At that point I realized what was going on and it made the rest of the visit in the village that much more enjoyable. I wont go on but you get the gist of it.

This review is based on an August 2020 visit with 2 adults and a 6 year old. The outdoor exhibits were realistic. The Native American area was very small, consisting of a large and small hut, a few canoes carved from tree trunks, an authentic Native American man outside and a less-than authentic Native American woman sitting in one of the huts. Seriously, thats it. The Pilgrim settlement had quite a few hand-built houses - only one of which you can enter and 3 actors stationed about to provide facts and answer questions. We enjoyed the exterior and didnt rush through it, but saw it all in about 45 minutes and that included stopping to chat with some of the actors. The inside was lackluster. Yes, it was interesting to see BUT I will be honest and state I did not feel the hour and 20 minutes of time it took there was worth $83 for me, my wife and child ($32 per adult, $19 for child). It seems that some people have to be cool and pretend the admission isnt a bit too high and carry on about the educational experience....The educational experience was minimal. It is by no means an American Museum of Natural History where you can spend hours and hours and immerse yourself in everything and still not see the entire place. This was interesting and mildly informative. There simply was not a lot to see and we came away feeling a bit ripped-off. Maybe if the price included the Mayflower tour in the town I wouldve been ok with it, but that carried additional admission fees (the two locations are associated with each other). My point is not to diminish or debate the educational aspects - we are not a strictly tactile, uneducated, amusement park type family, but I feel its important to set the expectation levels for those that are considering going. It seems many reviews were for visitors that had some childhood memories associated with it, but I dont understand anyone coming away extremely impressed and satisfied. We were very disappointed.

I bet this is normally a really cool experience, but asking full price admission for half of the experience left us a bit disappointed. I understand the need for COVID-19 precautions, but it was a bit ridiculous. Face masks are required at all times despite being in the fresh, open air 90% of the time. On top of that, only a few people are allowed in the homes and huts at a time - if the face masks are required, why is this necessary? Also, a couple of the staff members were very aggressive about the masks - someone should remind them that some people have disabilities or medical conditions that make mask wearing difficult. On the bright side, the Wampanoag people on site were wonderful. In particular there was one gentleman making head pieces who was so friendly and knowledgeable. In the English pilgrimage, the actors could have been more engaging, but it was still nice to see the village. I wish that we could have seen more of the stations, but there were a lot roped off with no people or signs nearby for explanation of what they were.

The Plymouth Plantation is doing an outstanding job of adapting to life with Covid. I have gone twice this month, once for the cinema and second to visit the village. The cinema experience was great; yummy fresh popcorn, marked seating with single use coverings, and lovely to get the immersive theater feel that directors want viewers to receive. The village had new features (Mua? A native shelter where pilgrims and natives had exchanged goods a bit later than the 1627 time period presented by role players) a pallisade? Fenced animal grazing central to village. The paths were dotted with hand sanitition stations and benches for resting. Role players (funny in masks) were carrying personal voice amplifiers. Several were roaming in modern gear and name badges to identify as curators, but the actors were still numerous and in character. I always learn new things when we visit and enjoy the cafe and gift shops. Dont stay away- youll be missing out!

I’m from New England, my husband is not. I went here as a kid so I figured “hey, he might like this, let’s make a day of it.” And so we did.I totally understand we’re still in the midst of a pandemic and businesses are required to abide by state restrictions/regulations in order to operate. Wearing masks, social distancing, roping off areas that would normally see high traffic – all make sense and are perfectly reasonable requirements/actions.What wasn’t reasonable was continuing to charge full price for admission ($32) even though a large portion of the exhibits were closed/roped off. We had no idea we wouldn’t be able to walk into huts or houses to view things.I think it would’ve been nice if they were like “Due to the pandemic and limited access to exhibits and other areas we are discounting standard admission tickets.” Even if they made the fact that a decent number of areas would be roped off and inaccessible more blatant to their walk-in visitors it would’ve been fair. We just felt cheated. Also! If I am mistaken and $32 is less than the normal gen admission price or if the areas I’ve mentioned are normally [pre-pandemic] roped-off then please let me know and I’ll take this review down immediately. Otherwise, my advice to anyone thinking about going right now: hold-off until things are...back to the way they were?
