Great place to hike and keep socially distanced! We camped three nights and were very happy with the campground - bathrooms were obviously very recently built and the nest campground bathrooms Ive ever seen! Note that some sites are actually on the perimeter of an open field (#26-31ish?) which is not what we expected, it doesnt give much privacy so people park cars between the sites. make sure to drive or hike to the top of the hill which is the camp road loop for the beautiful view!

My family was looking for someplace that had camping, hiking, canoeing, and swimming, and this place checked all the boxes. Having said that, it is a bit limited. The pond for canoeing is quite small, and the swimming area is VERY small. Hiking trails are plentiful, but hit or miss. Some are great, and others are more like roads which a car can drive on.The facilities are excellent: modern, clean, well maintained bathroom, shower, and dishwashing facilities; numerous water sources near campsites, and excellent large metal bear boxes” to safely store food on the campsites. The sites seem more spacious than normal, because during the pandemic many sites are being intentionally left vacant. Overall, I feel like MA DCR has done the best job possible making this a worthwhile place to visit. Its not really a wilderness experience, but for what my family calls car camping” its fine.

I thought I might be taking a chance on fat biking during the winter and I was happily pleased to be greeted by, at least, 8 miles of groomed single track. It wasnt like it was packed by a snowmobile but rather, the trail looked more like a large heavy ball was dragged through the trails. Whatever it was, it was effective and it made for an awesome Friday morning ride!

I love this place, every time I go its a different experience. There is trails for every one, with nice little views all over the mountain. Even if you dont want to hike there is picnic spots with grills, a beach area with white sands. If you drive half way up there is a view spanning over new york and a quant little pond. When I went today with my pup it was beautiful clear skys at the bottom, once I got to the top it was a foggy new world.

Beautiful park with great amenities. Nice clean bathrooms with showers, hiking trails, group camp sites, and a beautiful view point all situation in a heavily wooded area. The bathrooms look brand new with a great dish wash station and outdoor showers (as well as regular showers and family bathrooms). I visited toward the end of the season so it wasnt very busy but I would imagine this place it pretty popular during the prime camping season.

Beautiful views, great trails, pretty waterfalls, good camping sites, nice comfort faclities (bathrooms) but the road itself is full of potholes.Daniels Brook Chasm, Hawthorne Falls, Parker Brook Cascade are three smaller waterfalls in addition to Lulu Falls. There are 40 camping sites. The most scenic are atop Berry Mountain (downside is primative facilities) camping at the base of the mountain has easy access to the modern comfort station that has men, women, and family bathrooms.Berry Pond, atop Berry mountain, is said to be one of the highest natural water bodies in Massachusetts.

Maps outlining the trails, and a lot of smaller ones if you want to experience the woods without going too deep into the wildlife. For the deeper trails they are well taken care of and the ponds are absolutely beautiful

We were just passing through and needed a camping spot. We did not plan on a long visit, but should have. $16 for a tent camp site. Stayed at the top camp sites near the pond. We arrived just before sunset and got a chance to see a great view from the look out point. Flush toilets and showers at the bottom. Pit toilets up top. From the trail map we got upon entering the park, it does appear that all trails loop back to the roads. Would have liked to stay longer and hike the trails and see the waterfalls. There were not a lot of road signs for the State Park, but we found it, and it was great. Pet friendly. No alcohol.

The Pittsfield State Forest has to have the worst camping sites I have ever seen! Just about every site is uneven, and not just a little. Even the sites in Bishop Field are very uneven. One site in the field is over a foot off from one end to the other. How do you set up a tent or camper on that? You would need 12 in blocks under the tires on one side. These sites are very very hard to get a pick up truck or even a big car into them as well. No way of turning around in most of them without a 5 point turn or backing out the same way you came in. When you do find a level one the driveway going to it is pitched towards the site so when it rains your area will be a river. And oh yeah, watch out for all the roots! Yeah they have built some new bathrooms to clean up in but thats about it. This place is VERY disappointing as far as camping goes. Very nice place to hike and bike and snowmobile though. I have given 2 stars just because of the updated bathrooms but as far as camping there, no way!

The site I used and the ones I saw were extremely Rocky. Like huge rocks all over. It was quite bad for the tent. Luckily for me I sleep in a hammock. Site was sizeable and well shaded otherwise. Bathrooms were new and nice. I liked the park, but I was not interested in the tiny swimming hole. I also was wondering why swimming wasnt allowed at the much nicer lake atop the mountain. I would probably return to hike, but Im not sure if Id camp there again.

Great park and good all around camping. I give 4 stars because our cluster of camp sites could have been a little farther apart. But we were right on a brook which made for great sleeping. Take the last review with a grain of salt.

Okay so. I’ve gone camping here for all of my life. It’s great. If you want to use a Ouija board here it might not work though. Tried it. But like that’s okay because ghosts are pretty weird, man. Oh. And that canping spot just to the right of the wntrance to that big field, I think it’s called Russel Field, near that field used for parties and such? Don’t touch it. Don’t do it. That’s MY spot. But like you can. Just please take it into great consideration that my feelings will not be positive. 12/10 would eat cake in a tent here again.OH AND ALSO at some point in the Spring time, go up near the pond at the top. You’ll see toads doing it, but like, grab yaself some toad babies (eggs) and watch them grow in a fish tank or something. Minus the fish. They will in fact eat the toad babies. Another thing: if you get tired of cleaning the tank, get snails so eat the algae. Otherwise don’t bother with a filter. And if the few dead polywog bodies bother you, get a crayfish to eat them. If you use the snail idea with more than one snail, bu the way, you WILL wake up one morning to see dots on the walls of the tank. Those are snail eggs, awaiting to split open and show you some cool snail babies. They’ll eat more algae. It’s great. If you go canping with ya buddy, who happens to be terrified of the outdoors, just know that here are some loving things you can do to mess with them:- if you’re walking along the road to the restrooms at night, gasp loudly every now and then, pointing your flashlight into the woods on either side of the road. You might, just MIGHT, see a pair of glowing eyes. Don’t be scared thogh; they’ll leave you be.- pick up a daddy long leg and put it on them when they aren’t looking. Daddy long legs, although a close relative to the spider, are not spiders. In fact, they won’t harm you at all. They’ll run away. Really fast. So like, grab them as fast as you can. Do ittt.- in the same situation, grab some rocks beforehand and put them in your pocket. Every now and then, throw one into the forest without being seen, and then be like WHAT WAS THAT. If you keep doing this as you walk, it’ll seem like something is following you in the woods. Mean, but funny.Anyway, that’s pretty much it. Great place to hike and camp. It’s amazing.
