Enjoyed the rocky hike! While going up try Wapack trail which has some moderate rock patches and then trail and take Marion Davis trail is a simpler one. Both are roughly 1.5 miles. You will get good top view from Wapack trail. On top you can watch for raptors, get your binoculars! There is a small coffee and souvenir shop. You can also ride with your car to the top. But hike is recommended. Hike is moderate and children will love little adventure climbing through rocky patches.

This was a great hike. I am a novice but it was doable with some huffing and puffing. We took Raymonds Trail up and it was scenic but rocky and harder than expected. However, the challenge was well worth the views. This forest is so beautiful and the fellow hikers are friendly. Best thing about NH state parks, SO CLEAN. I saw not 1 piece of litter. This was really surprising coming from a PA resident. I only take off a star because the trees somewhat obstruct the view when you get to the summitt.

It’s a steep drive to the top of the hill, but the views are great. On clear days, you can even see Mt. Washington and Boston. If you prefer not to drive, there are two trails that bring you to the top, where you can access additional trails.

Miller State Park is a BEAUTIFUL place to visit in New Hampshire. There are many great things you can do outdoors here. There is plenty of parking in a well maintained area. This is such a great place to take kids or pets because they are nice easy trails in my opinion. Great for the whole family!

Recently hiked here and its beautiful. Just a warning that gates close at 5pm. If you park at the top make sure you drive down in time otherwise youll be locked in. It happened to our group. We did not see any signs posted on the top parking lot about gates getting locked, and assumed that the park would close at 5 and not let anyone in, but that we would be able to drive out. We had to call the police to open the gate for us.

Super friendly staff - especially Laura! Surprisingly challenging trails with plenty of rock and roots to surmount. The Wapack Trail to the too can be completed in 30 minutes if you keep a steady pace, though you will sweat. The views are fantastic, along the trail and at the top. Being able to climb the observation tower was amazing!

Pack Monadnock, or officially called Miller State Park, was its best as always. There was a lot of traffic in the park and finding a parking spot after 10am was good luck. I wasnt at the Pack to climb but to use my amateur radio. I have in the past climbed the mountain over a seven dozen times, but this visit was to throw a long wire into the trees, unload my Transceiver, and make several contacts using Morse code (CW) ... amateur radio. Sue, the gate keeper, and I gabbed for about 15 minutes about the car parking and the number of Massachusetts license plate visiting the park. Also, animals are not totally welcomed but on a leash is okay, but most people dont follow the rules. My amateur radio station (K1LGQ) was set up on a picnic table near the entrance so as not to be in the way of traffic. My girlfriend Jean (K1AVM) helped string the long wire antenna into a tree and I was on the air using my low power radio...Xiegu G90 (Chinese). I managed to contact 3 stations... new jersey, new york and Michigan. It was all dits and a dahs and long conversations were made. You would be surprised how fast talking with your fingers can be. The weather (WX) was a bit overcast and in the mid 50s with a slight wind from the south. Good day for a hike. When youre at the very top of the Pack, check out the stone shelter and find my radio call Letters K1LGQ in stone. The call letters were perfectly and carefully etched into the stone 1959 and they still send a beam of fun everytime I see it. See if it does for you too. Many fellows have since followed with their call letters in stone, but see if you can find mine.73 Dennis K1LGQ

Great little hike! I went up the wet side and down the rocky side according to the people working the booth. Rocky side was the Wapack trail and was definitely steep coming down. Spent some time at the top admiring the view and spotting raptors at the veiwing spot! It was fun and easily done in one afternoon. Really big rock formations that are cool to see and hang out on along the way!

A southern New Hampshires gem for hikers and sightseers. Three basic trails:1, the auto road, a steep mile with great views.2, the blue/white trail to the right. Southwestern exposure. Few views, but interesting rock formations. 1.6 miles.3, The yellow trail (Wapack), most challenging. Very rocky start, Western exposure, wet, nice views. 2.2 miles. My only complaint is the fee, it used to be free. But, definitely worth the $5 or so. 65+ still free. Bring spikes in the winter. Most people either make a loop by descending the auto road, or just walk the road in the winter.

This is my favorite southern NH hike. Its close enough to MA that is not a long car ride and haul. Really our go to hike with the dog when what something a little more challenging without traveling to far. Ascending via the Wapack is fun as it starts with some easy scrambling. Typically descend via the Marion Davis for an easier route and change of scenery. Our dog loves this hike as well; should be kept on leash.

Normally love Miller State Park. The trails and views are lovely. We can take the dog and spend a few hours. Today, 5/2/20, we found ourselves feeling stressed. A day after listening to Gov. Sununu say what NH does not want, at this time, is a big influx of weekend visitors from Massachusetts, that is exactly what we witnessed. At least half the plates in parking lot were from Massachusetts. Majority of people had no masks. By the time we were headed down the mountain, trail was busy, and we spent a good amount of time stepping off trails to let people pass. Will not be surprised if CoVID cases suddenly spike in southern NH. We will not be going back to Pack Monadnock any time soon.

Nice hiking trails and road to the top of Pack Monadnock. This is a short (but pretty steep) hike that is good for families.
