Great place to bring younger kids and youths for stand up boarding, paddle boats and kayaks. Under 12 life jackets are free. Liability waiver for equipment rental can be completed online before the visit. Everyone I saw was laughing and having a great time. The employees are quick and usually have everything you requested at Waters edge by the time you get there. Its 8$ for park admission should be noted. Have a great time !

Beautiful park. Lots of shade, picnic areas with BBQ areas both near the sandy beach and away from beach. Plenty of things to rent such as paddle boats and life jackets. Water was not freezing, but cool. Great for small kids. Shallow water at sandy beach.

Since the upgrade on this part of the Forebay was finished, it has become a water wonderland! Paddle boat rentals as well as a great boat launch! No motor boats allowed though. Theres a sand beach which is roped off for young children! I believe theyre are lifeguards on duty for the weekends but you might want to check if thats important to you!Great fun in the sun!

Good place to go with children add it doesnt run that deep. The beach is nice but could use a geese poop patrol. But all in all a good family place

My visit to the Forebay was a 1st for me. The place is a lot bigger than I thought. As you drive in, the first thing you see is the swimming area. If you follow the road though. It would take you to the Aquatic Center where you can rent kayaks, peddle boats and those boards that one stands on with a paddle. Also, and I didnt know about this, the have a pro or semi-pro rowing team. They dont sell food so make sure that you bring enough of your own for the day.

Everyone was great. Had a super fun time with all the vehicles. The staff was very friendly and patient with us. They had so much stuff we were very indecisive. It all looked fun. Large enough area to go out and relax on the water or play around.

So quiet and beautiful! Ready to make it a more regular outing.

Fireworks were the best yet. And the grounds were tidy all day! More portable bathrooms would have been nice, especially on the 4th of July being so popular at Forebay. And someone to upkeep the cleanliness - including tissue paper - at least on the 4th would be extremely helpful.

Free kids program in the summer. Very convenient. Only downside is peddleboats are two people minimum and kayaks are very unstable.

This place is fun. But they charge for all the floatation devices by the hour. The by the hour part is in small print. So if you rent two paddleboards for $15 dollars an hour. Pay attention to your clock. It is funf though. Just dont jump off the little foot bridge. One lady gets really mad. It is a big swimming area. You can fish there. But good luck catching somthing as people love to row right through your fishing space. The kids will have so much fun they will forget to get more sunscreen.

Amazing facility! Super clean. Great for day use. Rentals are cheap and in amazing condition. My husband and I had a great time here. Definitely will be visiting again. The staff are super friendly and helpful. I didnt catch their names but the gentleman that helped us onto our kayaks was great. The gentleman in the rental spot was super helpful and gave us tips for kayaking on a windy day.

We had a great first visit and will be back again. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We rented kayaks and had fun paddling across the forebay. There were ducks, geese, and other birds to watch. We even saw a family of otters. It was a peaceful morning and a decent workout, too.

I took my family out and we had some great fun. $25 /hr for the pedal boat that fits four. It fit my husband and i, our 12 yr old and our 4 yr old nicely. They had Very nice employees. 5 stars ***** Will go back and i recommend taking water with you on the pedal boat.

Came here with a group of students. They had a wonderful time and were able to use kayaks, paddle boards, play volleyball and swim. Would recommend for other youth groups. It is also open to the public everyday of the year, $8 per car. On weekends the general public can also rent the kayaks and paddle boards.

It serves a purpose for me, let me explain. I have friends that want me to kayak with them but I dont know if I want to spend all that money not knowing if Ill want to continue. The aquatic center allows me to test my commitment.

This is such a great place to go especially if you have little ones like myself. I remember going here as a child and have visited the past two summers with my kids and they love it. Very clean and the water is shallow enough to let the kids play.

Its a cute little beach thats perfect for families with young children. Its really shallow for a longer ways than most beachy areas, its clean and well maintained, and the water is clear and clean.

Great place for a fun day in the sun with the family. My oldest kids were able to swim and have fun but it was also shallow enough for my 3year old to play in as well. The sandy beach was wonderful to relax on and then when we needed a break from the sun, we were able to use a covered picnic table to take a break and eat. The beware of rattlesnake signs made me a little nervous though.

Ive been coming here once a year for my entire life. We have our family reunions here. The fee to reserve a spot is a little pricey. And do you have to pay to park. But its not a bad place to spend a hot Summers Day.

Forebay is a nice place to go on the weekend or even on a weekday when you want to escape and relax. During the summer they have paddle board, kayak, Paddle Wheel rentals along with many others. They also have a nice family beach and which the family and kids can play swim and have a good time while having a picnic on shore. It is a great place to have fun with the family or go out and explore the waters on your own.

Great place to visit. Wouldnt swim in the lakeknowing how much duck excrement is in there, but its pretty to sit and have a lunch.

We love coming here to tent kayaks and paddle-boards. The prices are reasonable. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The water is always calm and easy to get around in. Overall a very relaxing time.The one annoying thing is always having to fill out a new waiver. Its not the end of the world... But it gets a little bit annoying to do it every time we rent. Seems like they could use one of the many prior ones we have filled out.

Beautiful Park best place to swim in Oroville

Amazing! Weve been up in Chico for 7 years and havent taken the 20 min drive to check it out. Today was the hottest day of the year so far and the water was so nice to cool off in. They have life guards on duty and our kids (5, 11 and 12) had a blast. There is tree cover everywhere creating tons of shade over most picnic tables. It was my nephews birthday and about 50 of us there in the covered Ramada. Everyone had a blast and I definitely recommend checking it out. We will be back very soon!

Had a fun time Kayaking and swimming. They have great staff and they make sure everyone is safe.

Nice place. The beaches are fairly dirty and should be cleaned more often since this is the main attraction...

My youngest (8yo) really enjoyed the aquatic camp here. My oldest (12yo) would have had a better time if there were more kids his age or if a friend had gone with him. Both got sunburned like crazy even with multiple applications of sunscreen. Highly suggest long sleeve rash guards and sunhats that cover the back of their neck to limit sun damage.

Had a wonderful BBQ for mothers day. It was beautiful and the kids had a blast. We swam hiked around the forbay,theres benches an a darling bridge you can walk over. One of my favorite places to go.

Stopped to let my dog run around for a bit and get wet. The guard shack person let me in for free with a 15 minute pass. Very nice people. Will stop again next time Im heading through Oroville.

Nice quiet place to take the family. It is a state park, so there is a charge, but that helps keep the place nice, and population down. Lots of benches to spread out.

Place to launch a boat and plenty of parking lots. Place is clean and well kept, great for family outings and get together.
