Its a well equipped gym and since its reserved for students you get a youthful atmosphere to workout in. It does close very often for a gym (every home football game -_-) but when its open and convenient its a great place to build muscle and shred calories.PSA: If you take more than 90 seconds of rest, please dont sit and text on equipment, someone is likely waiting to use it if its busy.

I expect to be able to use an aerobics room for the tuition I pay. There are several rooms for this purpose only allowed to be used by official groups for a few hours each day. Thousands of sq ft of useful fitness space closed off from students. At least the staff was nice.

This is the best gym that Ive ever seen in my life. It is everything that I expect a gym To have. Besides the gym this thing has basketball court swimming pool like everything in it. If youre a student you probably know the procedures pay for an outsider just let you know that you can find every sport related things within the Center. If you wanna play basketball you can take a Basketball from The people at the gym.

The building and interior look lovely and the staff is helpful and curtious. The two stars and this review in general is because upon using the aquatic facilities, I lost the ability to see for 2 hours due to its chlorine content. Now believe me I am always one for sanitation but I have to get in this pool tomorrow and Im really not looking forward to it.

This gym has everything you could want. But its a hassle to use any of it, go at any time from the crack of dawn or right up to when they close, and this gym still will have 20-30 people in the free weight section which not to mention is very small compared to the whole gym making people walking in front of you while working out a norm. If you would like to do the compound movement of OHP, sorry we dont do that here if you would like to do any excersises with plates it has to have a clip because..... Well I still dont know why it just does. Forget taking your shoes off to squat here the gym membership is free but the squat shoes cost 85$. Do you like having all your things close to you in your gym bag, well sorry we put all those in a locker, why? Because.... And if you have a problem with these rules, they suggest to get a gym membership somewhere else, and if you dont have the money, not my problem. Ive been lifting for 5 years and those are my best memories, but training at this gym feels more like a chore then a good time. Half of these other reviews seem to come from the staff itself because everyone I talk to about the gym holds similar complaints, if you train hard and like to do your own thing, this gym will stress you out because instead of being able to relax and focus on the weight you are forced to focus on the staff hoping they dont catch you power cleaning or attempting to warm-up for overhead press. It has the capability to be a decent gym with all the equipment but the rules and reasons behind them make this one of the worst gyms next to planet fitness, regardless of charge.

Ive gone here for a couple years now, and it is a good gym, especially for the variety and quality of equipment available. However, there are a few things that could be improved that would make it quite a bit better. The music is typically terrible; theyve played Barbie Girl and Baby Got Back way too many times. The place almost has an institutional feel to it, between the roaming rule/safety observers, fluorescent lighting, strict rules, etc. Compartmentalizing the areas further would help, like have an area thats strictly free weights and barbells that has heavier music, trade a few of the treadmills for more benches (the treadmills are never ALL full like the benches are constantly), and make the place 24/7! With 70,000+ people with access to the gym, theres definitely enough use to extend the hours further, especially earlier in the morning so people can work out before 7am classes/exams.

This is without a doubt the best facility I have ever had the pleasure to workout in. The equipment is all top notch and up to date, and there are so many different things ranging from the two different weight rooms, the track, the lap pool, the leisure pool, the rock climbing wall, and the basketball courts that if youre an exercise-aholic like myself, you could spend years in here without it ever getting old. I will truly miss it when I depart for medical school!

The equipment is good and the gym is clean and kept up with. The outdoor adventure center has some awesome trips. My only complaint is pretty nit-picky, the climbing tower is great but their grigris (climbing apparatus) are pretty crappy and they do not allow you to use your own, despite there being safer and easier to use types out there.

It’s is an extremely large gym. Gets super packed, especially in the evenings (I suggest going early in the morning if you want it emptier), but there is a high quantity of diverse equipment for alternatives to your workout. Staff is vigilant, informed, and kind. Also, they constantly have sports/adventure events posted, so you can always be updated on the latest ones. Rock climbing staff is incredibly kind, patient, and helpful. Overall, the environment is upbeat and there is a convenient smoothie king with reasonable prices. Love coming here to work out!

Review №95

The RWC is great as long as youre not there to lift weights. What i mean is that they have a lot to offer such as racket ball courts that take up a ridiculous amount of space and smith machines that no one uses. The actual weight room itself is smaller than any other major Florida university. Somehow someone thought it was a good idea to only have 4 squat racks for 60,000 plus students and only ONE leg press machine. If you want to do legs you are waiting a minimum of 10 minutes for a squat rack along with another 10-20 min for a deadlift spot as there are only 3. The weight floor is cramped and always packed with people. Forget doing chest flies as someone is sure to walk next to your bench during your workout and bump into your weights. Your workouts are going to take twice as long as they would at any other place if you dont ask every single person if you can work in with them. Also there is no olympic lifts allowed which includes standing military press. Even if they were allowed there are not enough bars to go around to do them. Staff will also yell at you if your tank top exposes too much skin as a guy but women are allowed to have double the amount of skin exposed which makes no sense as the explanation i was given for this rule was that it prevents the spread of MRSA. UCF gym is a great place to work out but whoevers in charge of logistics... only 1 leg press for 60,000 students is mentally challenged.
